Baltimore Mayor Tells Local NAACP Not To Allow Republicans Into Their Office



...Actually he is not a member of either party, but thinks that the NAACP should work with both parties saying that blind allegiance to the Democratic Party hinders true civil rights progress.
“The NAACP — on a national level, not necessarily a local level — has this liberal machine they bow down to that does nothing to help them in the long run,”
Which is why he welcomed Republicans' attempt to reach out to the black community, it gives them leverage to play one of the other.
“When National found out that I was bringing the governor [Larry Hogan, a Republican], the lieutenant governor [Boyd Rutherford, a Republican], and Dr. [Alveda] King to Baltimore and the Sandtown NAACP office, they literally called and said, ‘There’s no way in the world they can come into our office,'” Giordano explained. “Then the Mayor [Democrat, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake] — who kind of gave the us the NAACP office in Sandtown — called and said, ‘No, you’re not allowed.'”

“And then, the president [of the Baltimore NAACP branch, Tessa Hill-Aston] called me,” he continued. “And she said, ‘You know they’re having a fit because you’re bringing in too many Republicans.'"...

Rachel Dolezal is president of the Spokane, Washington chapter of the NAACP. For years, she has passed herself off as black. Now her parents have told the press that she is their “birth daughter and we’re both of European descent…we’re puzzled and it’s very sad.” Her ethnic heritage: German, Swedish, Czech.

I know. You're all stunned to learn that the NAACP is made up of hypocrites who aren't interested in Mia Love and Tim Scott.

At this point, most of us are aware that the NAACP is little more than a well-organized race-baiting organization. They yell "racism" in order to keep black voters loyal to the Democrats and collect gobs of cash to support the effort. That's basically all they're about.

Still, it seems that there are some poor, unfortunate, souls who've convinced themselves that the organization is interested in the actual "advancement" of "colored people." Since there were two historic races that were won by African-American Republicans on Tuesday night, these poor saps thought that maybe, just maybe, the NAACP would take a second to notice.

There is no mention of Tim Scott or Mia Love’s historic wins this election cycle in the statement. As you can see, it’s mostly about the Voting Rights Act.

Townhall has reached out again via email to see if the NAACP will like to specifically comment on Love and Scott’s wins last Tuesday, which made history.

Michelle Nealy, who works in the organization's communications office, said in an email:
The NAACP is a nonpartisan organization that looks forward to working with the new Congress.

A Proud Moment: Romney’s NAACP Speech

Mitt Romney delivered one of the best speeches of the year at the NAACP meeting in Houston. It made me proud to watch him.

Romney was wise to accept the invitation, though, God knows, the temptation to decline must have been tremendous. The NAACP hasn’t exactly covered itself in glory over the past few years. In 2000, the organization ran dishonest and disgraceful television and radio ads suggesting that George W. Bush had been somehow indifferent to the horrible lynching of James Byrd in Texas. More recently, the group — theoretically dedicated to the best interests of black Americans — has joined teachers’ unions in attempting to block charter schools, and has condemned the Tea Party movement as racist.

Still, by attending the conference and describing the invitation as an “honor,” Romney demonstrated an important trait in a leader: a readiness to be respectful to everyone, particularly those with whom you disagree.... Read the rest!

Romney's Core Beliefs Don't Shift with His Audience

No demographic group has suffered more from Obama's economic policies than black Americans, nor has a worse unemployment rate.

Romney went into the lion's den in Houston knowing he would be booed, but it was a courageous move on his part to show he was taking his campaign for economic renewal to every corner of the country and to every interest group, even to Obama's core political constituencies.

Notably, the president has decided to take a pass on the NAACP convention, where he would have had to defend his failed economic policies and look into the faces of people who are hurting under his presidency....

It was a risky performance and could have ended badly for Romney, but he emerged from the speech as someone who was not afraid to carry his message to every group in the country, even those who may be hostile toward him.

And he proved he was not going to tailor his message to suit different audiences and that he held firm convictions that would not shift with the political tides.

The Obama campaign put out a statement saying that "African-Americans can't afford Romney economics."

Tell that to the 2.4 million black workers who cannot find a job in Obama's economy.

Romney on Wednesday delivered an aggressive speech to a potentially-hostile audience. He acknowledged the historic nature of Obama’s 2008 campaign, in which he became the country’s first black president, but also made the case for his own candidacy.

“I can’t promise that I will agree on every issue, but I do promise that your hospitality to me today will be returned,” Romney said, earning applause and a swell of organ music. He also promised that he would say “yes” if invited back to speak at the convention next year as president, likely a dig at Obama, who is not scheduled to speak to the conference this year.
