Obama’s DHS Report Warns Of The Real Threat To America: Right-Wingers

ISIS is marching across huge swaths of land in the Middle East, crucifying, beheading and burning alive untold numbers of human beings, and making direct threats against the United States. - Derek Hunter/Daily Caller

But the Department of Homeland Security is making sure the government doesn’t take its eye off the real enemy – right-wingers.

...While anyone committing crimes is an issue law enforcement should be concerned with, the threat from lunatic fringe “sovereign citizens” — people who reject government — pales in comparison to an organized and well-financed group of jihadi terrorists excited at the prospect of their own death in the course of killing “infidels.”

A White House official said President Obama is concerned with all “violent ideologies.” How this is squared with the president personally meeting with leaders of anti-police groups in the wake of the events in Ferguson, Missouri, was not addressed. Nor were violent attacks on police in the name of “social justice,” like the execution of two New York City police officers by a member of the anti-police groups.

F.B.I. Chief Not Invited to Meeting on Countering Violent Extremism - New York Times

The White House did not invite the most senior American official charged with preventing terrorist attacks — the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey — to the three-day conference this week on countering violent extremism in the United States and abroad because the administration did not want the event too focused on law enforcement issues, according to senior American officials.

But Mr. Comey’s Russian counterpart — Aleksandr V. Bortnikov, the director of the Russian Federal Security Service, the post-Soviet K.G.B. — was at the meeting, even though international human rights groups have repeatedly accused the Russian security service of unjustly detaining and spying on Russians and others.

From James O'Keefe:

First, I want to give you the background story.

My top-notch investigative team has spent months in the field. Our investigation started with Mayor Bill de Blasio and his vilification of the cops . . . you'll never guess what happened next.

I sent my team into the thick of the protests and near riots in New York. They stood next to young and angry citizens raising their hands and screaming "I can't breathe." As the dust settled, we found that nearly all of them were stirred to action on false pretenses and to the financial benefit of their agitators.

This led our investigation to Ferguson, Missouri and ultimately to the top echelons of power.

Unlike any other story I've unearthed in my career, I have never had the eerie feeling that is now burning in my gut. You see, the target of this video is in Obama's inner circle. That should give you a good idea about the gravity of this story.... stay tuned...

FBI digital search-warrant plan a 'monumental' constitutional threat, says #Google

...Richard Salgado, Google’s director for law enforcement and information security, wrote Tuesday that the Justice Department’s plans for remotely accessing computer files “raises a number of monumental and highly complex constitutional, legal, and geopolitical concerns that should be left to Congress to decide.”

National Journal reported Wednesday that the federal government wants to make changes to a criminal procedure provision known as Rule 41, which would allow judges to approve warrants outside their jurisdictions.

“The serious and complex constitutional concerns implicated by the proposed amendment are numerous and, because of the nature of Fourth Amendment case law development, are unlikely to be addressed by courts in a timely fashion,” Mr. Salgado wrote.

Google fears the federal government is using vague language that would permit it to spy on millions of Americans simultaneously....

Female ISIS captives endure ‘brutal and abnormal’ sex - New York Post

...Perverted ISIS militants are trying to score Viagra to fuel their lust for “brutal and abnormal” sex, according to a shocking report from activists in the terror group’s main Syrian stronghold.
The supposedly ultra-conservative Muslim fundamentalists have been forcing women in the city of Raqqa to marry them and engage in savage sex acts that result in hospital treatment, the report says....

In a related development, two British human rights groups on Wednesday said ISIS kidnapped at least 3,000 women and girls last year from the areas it controls in Iraq.

Some victims were forced to marry ISIS terrorists, while others were sold into sexual slavery, according to a report by Minority Rights Group International and the Ceasefire Centre for Civilian Rights.

Giuliani: Obama doesn‘t ‘love America’ - Media shocked, angry, incredulous

WASHINGTON — Rudy Giuliani has delivered a political shot-in-the-gut to President Obama, charging the president doesn’t “love America.” - New York Post
“I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America...”

According to the former mayor, Obama doesn’t love Giuliani either.

“He doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up, through love of this country,” he continued...

The comments are a departure from standard political rhetoric, where blasting someone’s ideas is considered fair game, but questioning an opponent’s love of country is usually a no-no. Politico reported the expansive comments....

OBAMA: ISLAM ‘WOVEN INTO THE FABRIC OF OUR COUNTRY SINCE FOUNDING’

In his bloviating speech on Thursday at his summit on countering violent extremism, President Obama bent over backwards to make nice with Islam. Not only were terrorists not Muslim, President Obama stated, but Islam played a crucial role in America’s founding. - Ben Shapiro/BREITBART.COM

Obama seems significantly more comfortable with this characterization of the historic role of Islam than he is with the non-fictional actual historic role of Christianity and Judaism in the American founding.

After all, this is the same man who stated in 2006, “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation – at least, not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”

This is the same president who said in April 2009, “Although, as I mentioned, we have a very large Christian population, we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values. I think modern Turkey was founded with a similar set of principles.”

It is fair to say that modern Turkey was not founded upon the same principles as the United States. It is also fair to say that Islam has not been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding, at least not in any meaningful sense....

The historical record demonstrates that Islam had virtually no role in the foundation of the early Republic outside of being used as a negative comparison point for freedom and self-government.

President Obama is obviously rewriting history. But since he’s busily rewriting the present, too, why should anyone be surprised? KEEP READING

PolitiFact’s Lie of the Year of 2014 falls apart only two months later

In October, the columnist George Will directly contradicted the president and a variety of federal health officials when he insisted that the African hemorrhagic fever Ebola could spread via fluids expectorated as a result of a cough or a sneeze.

The president’s honor had been called into question, an offense that Rudy Giuliani recently discovered the press simply cannot countenance. Even despite the fact that a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention poster backed up Will’s warning, PolitiFact dubbed his and other alleged exaggerations of the threat posed by Ebola as their LOTY....

Just about two months later, PolitiFact’s LOTY imploded.

“A team of prominent researchers suggested Thursday that limited airborne transmission of the Ebola virus is ‘very likely,’” The Washington Post reported on Thursday, “a hypothesis that could reignite the debate that started last fall after one of the scientists offered the same opinion.”

...“There was almost a rush to ensure the public that we knew a lot more than we did,” Osterholm said on Wednesday. “But we’re saying you can’t rule out respiratory transmission.”

Not only was there a rush by public health officials to calm frayed nerves surrounding the Ebola crisis, there was a rush by the administration’s allies in the media to shame and condemn those who were actually listening to the researchers that contradicted administration officials.... “Mr. President, Mr. President, there are tens of thousands of Anne Franks right now being brutalized. Why don't you do something about it?"

Reading a passage from The Diary of Anne Frank – written by the Jewish girl who died in a Nazi labor camp -- author and talk-radio host Mark Levin said the Islamic State “genocide” in Syria and Iraq is particularly a war on “little girls and women,” and he called upon President Obama to do something about the “tens of thousands of Anne Franks right now being brutalized” by the Islamists. - CNS

Levin also stressed that Obama, like British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who appeased the Nazis in the run-up to World War II, was “a patsy for Islamic terrorism” as Chamberlain “was a patsy for the Third Reich.”

“I want to just -- a couple of sentences from Anne Frank's diary because, you know, Sean, this is a war really on little girls and women,” said Levin. “That's what's taking place, the brutalization in front of our faces.”

...Earlier in the program, Hannity asked Levin about former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s comment from earlier in the week when he said, ‘I do not believe this president loves America.’

Asked for his reaction, Levin said, “Rudy's exactly right. And I would add -- and I've said this many years on my radio program -- when somebody says they want to fundamentally transform America, well, then you must not love America. It's like saying I'm going to fundamentally transform my wife, or my girlfriend. That means you must not love your wife or your girlfriend.”

“Obama has shown no indication that he loves the Constitution,” said Levin. “He never talks about capitalism. He's always bringing up the past. He's always picking at scabs. Even now, he's a patsy for Islamic terrorism! Half of his speeches are about how terrible America is and America shouldn't react in a negative way.” KEEP READING

That law could be on the books in a matter of weeks, potentially setting off protests at the state Capitol and prompting labor unions and management to quickly extend contracts to avoid compliance with right-to-work legislation. Such laws, adopted in 24 other states, prohibit private employers from negotiating a union contract that requires all workers to pay dues.

Obama: Republicans are trying to 'bamboozle' ordinary Americans

White House traps itself in terrorism word games

Why has the Obama administration tied itself in knots over what to call Islamic terrorism? We know the president has rejected the term in favor of "violent extremism," ordering his administration not to refer to Islamic terrorists like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria as Islamic. "No religion is responsible for terrorism," Obama declared at the White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism Wednesday. - Byron York/Washington Examiner @ByronYork

And yet in the same speech, Obama uttered the word "Christianity" once, "Judaism" once, "Buddhism" once — and "Islam" or "Muslim" 52 times. If a listener did not know better, he might think there was something Islamic about the extremism that was the subject of the White House conference.

Obama's semantic preferences have left his spokesmen struggling to find words to describe one of the United States' top national security concerns. It's a particular troubling problem now, with the rise of the Islamic State, but it has deep roots; the president has long appeared conflicted on how to refer to Islamic terrorism....

White House spokesman Josh Earnest fell into a variety of holes Wednesday as he tried to navigate the president's vocabulary requirements. For example, a reporter noted that Obama and top administration officials "have gone to great lengths to not say that it's a summit about Islamic extremism … but if you look at the groups that are participating, most of them … are related in one way or another to the Muslim community. How do you square the message with the participants?"

...Earnest's contortions left some listeners baffled. "You just won't call it militant Islam or anything like that?" asked a reporter. "Well, I think we’ve been very clear about what we call it," Earnest replied.

Later, another reporter asked about a statement Earnest released last weekend condemning the Islamic State's beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians. The statement referred to the victims as "Egyptian citizens," rather than "Egyptian Christians." Why was that?

Earnest quickly conceded the victims were killed not just because they were Egyptian "but also because they were Christian." When asked why he didn't just say that last weekend, Earnest answered, "I can't account for that specific line in the statement." The statement, of course, was his own.

Still later, yet another reporter asked about a comment from State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf, who during a TV interview Wednesday discussed the Lord's Resistance Army in Africa. "That's a Christian militant group," Harf said, correctly. The question for Earnest was: Why does the administration refer to a Christian militant group as Christian when it won't refer to an Islamic militant group as Islamic?

"Well, I did not see my colleague's comments on this topic," Earnest said, "so I don't want to sort of weigh in and try to explain what she meant."

Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s backroom deal goes massively, horribly, terribly wrong

Democrats’ ‘blue wall’ not impregnable to Republicans — if they’re smart

Do Republicans have a realistic chance to win the next presidential election? Some analysts suggest the answer is no.  - Michael Barone/Human Events

They argue that there is a 240-electoral-vote “blue wall” of 18 states and D.C. that have gone Democratic in the last six presidential elections.

A Democratic nominee needs only 30 more electoral votes to win the presidency, they note accurately. A Republican nominee, they suggest, has little chance of breaking through the blue wall. He (or she) would have to win 270 of the 298 other electoral votes.

Democrats do have an advantage in the electoral vote, because heavily Democratic clusters clinch about 170 electoral votes for them, while Republicans have a lock on only about 105. But the blue wall theory, like all political rules of thumb, is true only till it’s not. And this one could easily prove inoperative in a competitive 2016 race.... KEEP READING

Judge Napolitano: Obama Executive Amnesty ‘Absolutely Dead’ After Texas Judge Blockade

Reacting on “The Kelly File” Tuesday to a federal judge’s blocking of President Obama’s executive action on immigration, which was set to award work permits to four million illegals, Judge Andrew Napolitano called the court’s decision “devastating” for the Obama administration’s agenda. - Daily Caller

Napolitano also told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly that “the Obama amnesty plan is dead,” explaining that he does not believe that the conservative Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals will interfere with the federal judge’s decision. The Fox News judicial analyst added that the Supreme Court will probably not take up the case....

“In my opinion, the Obama amnesty plan is dead. Absolutely dead,” Napolitano told Kelly. “I don’t think the appeals court will interfere with this decision, And I think it will take this trial judge for the duration of President Obama’s term to rule on this with finality.”

...“This opinion reads like a treatise on the government’s inappropriate behavior on this case.”

New rules on narcotic painkillers cause grief for veterans and VA

The DEA restrictions, adopted to curb opioid abuse, mean many vets have to make more appointments with an already overburdened VA - Washington Post

New federal rules that make it harder to get narcotic painkillers are taking an unexpected toll on thousands of veterans who depend on these prescription drugs to treat everything from missing limbs to post-traumatic stress.

The restrictions, adopted last summer by the Drug Enforcement Administration to curb a national epidemic of opioid abuse, are for the first time, in effect, forcing veterans to return to the doctor every month to renew their medication, although many were already struggling to get appointments at overburdened VA health facilities. And even if patients can get appointments, the new rules pose an additional hardship for many who live a good distance from the health centers.

While the tighter regulation applies to everyone on opioid painkillers, it’s hitting veterans especially hard because so many are being treated for horrific injuries sustained during the long wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and have become dependent on the VA’s beleaguered health-care system for medical care.

Obama to Nigerian Christians: Change Laws on Abortion, Homosexuality If You Want Protection from Boko Haram

A Catholic Bishop from Nigeria has leveled an explosive charge against President Barack Obama over his failure to adequately help Nigeria in the African nation’s fight againt the Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram that might explain why Obama has let Boko Haram slaughter Nigerian Christians and rape and enslave Christian girls. - Jim Hoft/Gateway Pundit

Bishop Emmanuel Badejo spoke ◼ in Rome to Aleteia, saying of the Obama administration:
“The United States actually said it would help Nigeria with Boko Haram only if we modify our laws concerning homosexuality, family planning, and birth control.”
A Wall Street Journal article about an interview with Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan published last week described “various issues” supposedly keeping the Obama administration from providing more support to Nigeria in its fight against Boko Haram, but did not mention the morals issues claimed by Bishop Badejo....

In August 2014, then U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman(R-TX) made a similar charge to Bishop Badejo’s, saying the Obama administration was withholding aid to Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram in part over Nigeria’s “social policy.”

The charge was denied by a State Department offical at ◼ a recent House hearing.

...A Reuters article on Western criticism of the law noted that Nigeria not being dependent on Western financial aid gave those governments little leverage to pressure Nigeria. If Bishop Badejo is correct, President Obama has decided the leverage he has is to punish Nigeria by letting Boko Haram slaughter Christians and rape and enslave Christian girls.

Obama loses in court, again

President Obama might have been surprised on Monday night when a federal district court in Texas blocked his executive action on immigration. Those familiar with his administration's legal acumen should not be.

Obama's team has suffered numerous major court defeats in cases it treated publicly as obvious slam-dunk victories. A dozen of Obama's defeats before the Supreme Court have been unanimous — on topics as diverse as religious liberty, property rights and presidential appointment powers. Each time that happens, it signifies that no knowledgeable person could have reasonably embraced Obama's legal position.

Judge Andrew Hanen's order in this immigration case could still be reversed on appeal, and even if it holds up, it is just a temporary measure as the case's merits are heard. But the injunction was issued because the conferral of legal status upon as many as 5 million people would be, as the judge put it, “virtually irreversible.” Obama himself publicly admitted on 22 previous occasions that he lacked the authority to do this unilaterally, and so those opposing him have what looks like a reasonable case.

CRUZ: WH 'Counterfeiting Immigration Documents' - CBS DC
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, believes that the Obama administration is “counterfeiting immigration documents” under the president’s immigration plan.

Speaking to Fox News following a federal judge’s decision to temporarily halt President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration, the potential Republican presidential contender said the commander in chief is ignoring federal law.

“One of the things it points out is the president has claimed, rather absurdly, that the basis of his authority is ‘prosecutorial discretion.’ That he’s simply choosing not to prosecute 4.5 million people here illegally,” Cruz told Fox News. “But what the district court concluded, quite rightly, is they’re doing far more than that. The administration is printing work authorizations. It is affirmatively acting in contravention of federal law. Basically, what its doing is counterfeiting immigration documents, because the work authorizations its printing are directly contrary to the text of federal law. It is dangerous when the president ignores federal law.”

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen’s decision late Monday puts on hold Obama’s orders that could spare from deportation as many as 5 million people who are in the U.S. illegally.

In a memorandum accompanying his order, Hanen said the lawsuit should go forward and that the states would “suffer irreparable harm in this case” without a preliminary injunction.
Gutierrez Predicts Unprecedented 'Militancy' - Breitbart
Judge's rebuke may be hard to challenge - Reuters
In his ruling on Monday that upended plans to shield millions of people from deportation, U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen avoided diving into sweeping constitutional questions or tackling presidential powers head-on. Instead, he faulted Obama for not giving public notice of his plans.

The failure to do so, Hanen wrote, was a violation of the 1946 Administrative Procedure Act, which requires notice in a publication called the Federal Register as well as an opportunity for people to submit views in writing.

The ruling, however narrow, marked an initial victory for 26 states that brought the case alleging Obama had exceeded his powers with executive orders that would let up to 4.7 million illegal immigrants stay without threat of deportation.

"It's a very procedural point – that he did this too quickly," said Michael Kagan, a law professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Scott Walker: What ‘Elitist’ Howard Dean doesn't get

I don’t know about you, Megyn, but we’ve had an Ivy League-trained lawyer in the White House for the last six years, who was pretty good at reading off the teleprompter, but has done a lousy job leading this country. I’d rather have a fighter who’s actually proven he can take on the Big Government special interests and win. - DAILY CALLER

HOST MEGYN KELLY: Governor Howard Dean, your friend who used to be the governor of the state of Vermont, basically told the world they need to worry that you are a dumb-dumb because you didn’t finish college, you left in your senior year… He said there are a lot of people who are going to worry about that. And you say?

WALKER: (laughs) I said it’s interesting, that’s kind of the elitist government-knows-best top-down approach from Washington we’ve heard for years.

I think there’s a lot of Americans out there that scratch their head and say, we have people who help found Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, plenty of other successful business enterprises across the country that did the exact same thing I did: have an opportunity to start a career, an opportunity to start a business senior year of college and went out and did it.

I have two kids in college, I hope they finish, I expect that. My wife and I are helping to fund their pathway with the hard work they put in. So we value college for those who pursue that career. but in the end you don’t have to have that to be successful, as many Americans have over the years.

Scott Walker is a conservative hero, and liberals have themselves to blame for it

Whether it's unions or universities, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) has waged a number of huge fights -- symbolic and otherwise -- with liberals. So far, the fights have only served to bolster his credentials among national conservatives who like nothing more than a Republican willing to poke liberals in the eye. - Washington Post

And now New York Times columnist Gail Collins has thrown Walker another hanging curveball by which to bash liberals and shine in the eyes of conservatives.

In a recent column widely derided as a "hit piece" by conservatives, Collins centered on Walker's breakout speech in Iowa, declaring that it was "his moment." Known for her stream-of-consciousness writing style, Collins sets herself up as a kind of fact-checker of Walker's record. She blames the governor for cutting state aid to education that led to teacher layoffs -- particularly in regard to one teacher who had been honored.

But there was just one big problem with that assertion: Walker wasn't actually in office when said cuts were made.

The headline -- "Scott Walker Needs an Eraser" -- pretty much said it all, except it wasn't Walker who needed one.

The correction, which came two days after the column was posted, said: "An earlier version of this column incorrectly stated that teacher layoffs in Milwaukee in 2010 happened because Gov. Scott Walker 'cut state aid to education.' The layoffs were made by the city’s school system because of a budget shortfall, before Mr. Walker took office in 2011." KEEP READING

Obama Team Talks Tougher to Fox than They Do ISIS

They're trying to give illegal immigrants a $24,000 check while border patrol agents will have their paychecks withheld.

Senate Democrats Choosing Illegal Immigrants Over Border Patrol Agents - Daily Signal

Allow funding for the Department of Homeland Security to lapse or engage in the legislative process.

Those are the only two options Senate Democrats have at this point. Everything else transcribed in the press or recited by television pundits is nothing more than a distraction. Senate Democrats, of course, deny that binary choice, but their denials are only accepted by those who can’t — or won’t — understand the wonderfully complex rules of the United States Senate.

Before diving into the process, it is worth taking a minute to understand the politics.

The implication of the Democrat-led filibuster is that Homeland Security funding will lapse and our nation’s border patrol agents will have their paychecks withheld after Feb. 27. While those fine men and women continue to work without pay, the Department of Homeland Security will be preparing to grant legal status and work permits to those who are in the country illegally. To make matters worse, some of these individuals will use their newly issued Social Security numbers to claim four years’ worth of tax credits....

There is likely to be some temptation to avoid this fight now that a Fifth Circuit judge has issued an injunction and the administration announced it would halt implementation of the president’s amnesty. While Obama’s actions are clearly unconstitutional, conservatives have little reason to trust the courts to make the right decision. What’s more, the administration said they will prevail in court and begin implementing and expanding the amnesty program.

Even with the stunning news out of Texas, Democrats have just two options. They can deny paychecks to border patrol agents or they can engage in the legislative process. It is that simple.

Democrats are having a hard time finding good candidates to run for Senate in 2016.

REPORT: Obama Refused to Assist Jordan, Egypt With Information on ISIS Targets

Oliver North told Greta Van Susteren tonight that the Egyptian government asked the US for information on ISIS targets in Libya yesterday after ISIS beheaded 21 Christians. But, the Obama Administration refused the request. The Obama administration also refused to give Jordan information on ISIS targets in Syria after their pilot was burned alive in a cage. - Jim Hoft/Gateway Pundit

ROBERT DAVI: BOYCOTT OBAMA’S CELEBRITY SUPPORTERS - BREITBART BIG-HOLLYWOOD

My fellow Americans, I ask you to call on your congressmen and senators. I call for an awareness campaign, boycotting every Hollywood TV channel, show, movie, entertainer, studio and network that has been one of President Barack Obama’s supporters unless they demand he defines the threat to Jews, Christians and peace-loving Muslims around the world.

The beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians is nothing new. This has been happening across the Middle East: churches burned in Iraq, Nigerian Catholic missionaries killed, crucifixions and attacks on Jews, journalists and cartoonists....

While you all get your teeth whitened, hair colored, laser treatments, sun tans and balls waxed getting ready for the Academy Awards, remember your failure for not speaking out. If 21 elephants, tigers or whales were suddenly beheaded the whole of Hollywood would be speaking out! The absurd behavior of the White House is something that the American citizenry can no longer stand by and not address.

Start demanding this administration offer a clear definition of what is happening. By not doing so Obama appears to be in cahoots with an enemy that is quickly becoming more difficult to control.

Why is he not able to speak out?

...So, I ask where are those in Hollywood who are strong supporters of Obama … why aren’t you demanding he act as the leader of the free world and not a university professor and student of Noam Chomsky?

Obama fiddles while Christians are being exterminated. Demand definition now.

President's Message

When I was in grammar school I remember celebrating President Lincoln’s Birthday on February 12th and President George Washington’s Birthday on February 22nd. We now celebrate President’s Day without highlighting any one Presidents' accomplishments. Many students probably do not know very much about these 2 outstanding Presidents. Each of these great men made tremendous sacrifices to ensure America would be the greatest nation the world has even known. It is up to us to help educate our young students about our nation's rich history so they can be the leaders of tomorrow!

President Abraham Lincoln’s life was a stunning example of what we call the American Dream. From his humble beginnings, his parents were mostly illiterate, Lincoln made extraordinary efforts to attain knowledge while working on a farm, splitting rails for fences, or working in a general store. He spent eight years in the Illinois legislature, rode the circuit of courts for many years, and in 1860 he was elected the President of the United States and the first Republican President! He fought to ensure passage of the Emancipation Proclamation that declared freedom to all those held as slaves in states that had seceded. He was a man of integrity, commitment, and most important, courage! He made many trips to the battle fields during the Civil War, and had tremendous respect for the soldiers. His heart was heavy seeing all the casualties but he knew the Union had to be preserved for future generations!

George Washington was our first President and the more I read and learn about him, the more I believe that America would not exist if it we did not have George Washington. As a child he was homeschooled and was also tutored in the finer aspects of colonial culture. He fought in many wars before being appointed Major General and Commander-in-Chief of the Colonial Army against the British on June 15th, 1775. The Army was not well equipped, our fledgling nation or the congress could not pay sufficient funds for uniforms, food and needed implements, but General Washington kept the soldiers' morale alive. General Washington had no practical experience maneuvering large formations of infantry, commanding cavalry or artillery. But he was courageous, determined and smart enough to keep one step ahead of the enemy. He also gained the respect of his men through his actions and they were willing to give their all for their General and to win victory!

After victory in 1783 George Washington resigned his commission as Commander-in-Chief and returned to Mount Vernon, but not for long! During the presidential election in 1789 he was unanimously elected our First President of the United States. President Washington was astutely aware that his presidency would set a precedent for all that would follow. To that end, he preferred the title "Mr. President," instead of more imposing names. He only accepted the $25,000 yearly salary after congress persuaded him to accept the compensation to avoid giving the impression that only wealthy men could serve as president. In March 1797, he turned over the government to John Adams and returned to Mount Vernon, determined to live his last years as a simple gentleman farmer. Washington could have been a king. Instead, he chose to be a citizen. He was not only considered a military and revolutionary hero, but a man of great personal integrity, with a deep sense of duty, honor, and patriotism. “His most important legacy may be that he insisted he was dispensable, asserting that the cause of liberty was larger than any single individual.”

Our current president could learn a lot from the lives of Presidents' Washington and Lincoln. He could learn humility, honor, conviction, respect and support for our brave military, courage, and doing what is right for America and Americans rather than his own political gain. Most important he would learn that he is dispensable because the cause of liberty was and is larger than any single individual.

God Bless America!
Thank you for all you do,
Roseann

Democrat Priorities

This week the Legislative Democrats announced that they intend to dramatically expand Californian's greenhouse gas reduction laws, with the support of Governor Brown. But here's the kicker- Senate Democrat Leader Kevin DeLeon calls the legislative package of environmental measures a "jobs program." The package of bills includes measures that will aim to cut our state's petroleum usage in half by 2030 and expand the proportion of electricity use from solar and wind from one-third to one-half. The irony of calling this bills package a "jobs program" seems to be lost on Democrat leadership. Expanding AB 32 regulations will hurt the businesses that keep our state moving, like our farmers in the Central Valley and utilities businesses all across the state, and only really helps "green energy" jobs that are most often found on our state's coastal regions. Once these bills take shape, we have to do our best to defeat them!

ObamaCare’s Electronic-Records Debacle - JEFFREY A. SINGER/WALL ST JOURNAL via Dr. Ronald Hoffman

The rule raises health-care costs even as it means doctors see fewer patients while providing worse care....

Congress has devoted scant attention to this issue, instead focusing on the larger ObamaCare debate. But ending the mandatory electronic-health-record program should be a plank in the Republican Party’s health-care agenda. For all the good intentions of the politicians who passed them, electronic health records have harmed my practice and my patients.

Ten Common Core Promoters Laughing All The Way To The Bank

The people who wrote and pushed Common Core on the nation are making bank while the nation’s kids, teachers, and parents writhe in the grip of their curriculum contraption. - The Federalist

...In fact, everywhere you look, people intimately involved with creating or pushing Common Core are making a lot of money despite having demonstrated exactly zero proven success at increasing student achievement. How convenient for them....

As chief of staff to Education Secretary Arne Duncan, (Joanne Weiss, Common Core’s Federal Donkey Driver) made $179,700 in base pay in 2012. While there, she directed the Race to the Top grants that weaseled 41 states into promising to adopt Common Core before it was written. In fact, as the Washington Post reported four years after the fact, Duncan had originally put Common Core directly into the grant requirements by name. For political reasons, they decided to be a little more deceptive in the final version and instead use a definition of what was acceptable so narrow that it to this day only includes Common Core. And Weiss’s own website says she “was responsible for designing the [Race to the Top] policy to maximize its impact” and “writing the regulations.” So it’s not a stretch to imagine she wrote that requirement with her own hand. At the very least, she was fully aware of and participated in the decision to do so.... KEEP READING

Virginia Dems Run Away From Vote to Support Israel

The resolution passed by a wide margin of 70-2, with a large number of Democrat members choosing to sit out from the vote by leaving the chamber. The two votes against the resolution came from Democrats Vivian Watts and Scott Surovell. - Washington Free Beacon

Video of the vote shows that Republicans called for another vote on the resolution once the members returned to their seats.

“Having voted on the prevailing side of the [resolution] of which we just voted, I move for another vote now that about 20 members are back in their seats over here,” said Del. Jackson Miller, a Republican from Manassas.

Shortly after his call for another vote, they all left again.

THE LIST: 32 LIES AND DISPUTED STORIES NBC NEWS LET BRIAN WILLIAMS TELL FOR A DECADE

How Republicans Are Taking a Big Stand Against Unions - DAILYSIGNAL.COM

Republican members of Congress have introduced a joint resolution of Congress to try to stop a new National Labor Relations Board rule from going into effect this April.

According to a joint statement released by congressional Republicans last week, the “ambush election” rule, finalized last December, would decrease the amount of time a labor union certification election is held from over a month to a mere 11 days.

...In a statement, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., criticized the “so-called ‘ambush’ rule” implemented by the Obama administration’s appointees on the NLRB.

“It’s designed with one purpose in mind — to fatten the wallets of powerful political bosses by threatening the rights of middle-class workers to make informed decisions of their own,” said McConnell.

Poll: Most disapprove of Obama handling of ISIS

link - Alexandra Jaffe/CNN

Americans are increasingly unhappy with President Barack Obama's handling of ISIS, and a growing share of the nation believes that fight is going badly, according to a new CNN/ORC survey released Monday.

The CNN/ORC poll found 57% of Americans disapprove of how Obama is handling the threat posed by ISIS, a significant decline in support for the President over the past few months. In late September, that number was 49%.

Fifty-seven percent disapprove of his handling of foreign affairs more broadly, and 54% disapprove of how the President is handling terrorism. Another 60% rate Obama negatively on his handling of electronic national security.

The declining approval ratings for Obama on national security come as a weekend of international turmoil further underscores the growing threats abroad.

Retired four-star admiral says the unsayable about Islam and President Obama’s foreign policy strategy

During the Center for Security Policy’s recent Defeat Jihad Summit, the naval officer of 36 years, who served most recently as the Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, made some simply astounding comments about Islam and President Obama’s foreign policy strategy - The Blaze
Four Star Admiral James Lyons: "We all say we have to identify the threat. the best was Erdogan from Turkey who said Islam is Islam, there are no modifiers. Democracy is the train we ride to our ultimate objective, he could't have said it any plainer, and until you recognize that Islam is the political movement masquerading as a religion you're never gonna come to grips with it...

And as far as a strategy, let me just conclude one thing, as I had in my latest Op-Ed.... the Obama admin has a strategy, It's very simple. Any thinking American should be able to grasp it. It's anti-American, anti-Western. It's pro-Islamic. It's pro-Iranian and pro-Muslim Brotherhood."

Boko Haram: 200,000 Christians at Risk of Massacre in Nigeria

Boko Haram forces appear poised to attack Maiduguri, a city of 2 million in northeast Nigeria -- meaning that 200,000 Christians could be at risk of slaughter by the Islamist terror group, say U.S. intelligence officials and experts on Nigeria. - NBC

"An attack on Madiguri is very likely," said J. Peter Pham, director of the Africa Project at the Atlantic Council, echoing U.S. intelligence officials. Pham believes, as do other experts, that Boko Haram has already placed "sleeper cells" among the tide of refugees who have fled the group's murderous rampage through Africa's most populous nation. "They've done it everywhere else they've gone," said Pham. "So why not Maiduguri?"

Boehner: I Didn't Tell POTUS About Bibi Invite Because WH Hates Netanyahu

link - Jeff Dunetz/Newsbusters

...The speaker answer voiced an opinion many have suspected, but no one in the U.S. government has admitted publicly: the White House just doesn't like the Israeli Prime Minister.
There’s so secret here in Washington about the animosity that this White House has for Prime Minister Netanyahu; frankly, I didn’t want that getting in the way and quashing what I thought was a real opportunity.
When asked by Chris Wallace why he invited the Israeli Premier to talk to Congress, the speaker said it important for the Congress to hear Netanyahu's expert perspective.
The fact is that we had every right to do what we did. I wanted the prime minister to come here. There's a serious threat facing the world, and radical Islamic terrorists are not going to go away. The president devoted but a few words to it in his State of the Union address. And then when it comes to the threat of Iran having a nuclear weapon, these are important messages that the Congress needs to hear and the American people need to hear. And I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu is the perfect person to deliver the message of how serious this threat is.

The War on Free Speech, Day In, Day Out

(On) Valentine's Day, a café in Copenhagen hosted a discussion on "Art, Blasphemy and Freedom of Expression". Islam knows not "freedom of expression", and the inclination of a certain proportion of its adherents is to respond to any "discussion" by opening fire. - Mark Steyn

Why wouldn't they? As President Selfie told the UN General Assembly, "The future must not belong to those who slander the Prophet of Islam." The fanatics of Islam take him at his word, and act accordingly.

So at that café this afternoon they came in shooting and yelling "Allahu Akbar!" - which is Arabic for "Can't we all just get along?" Three policemen are wounded and one member of the public - a 40-year-old man - is dead. And, in a small hitherto peaceable Scandinavian kingdom, another little bit of European cultural life and artistic spirit shrivels and dies....

As much as I loathe these fanatics, I despise even more Obama and the European political elite that gives them succor and trades our liberties to appease madmen. They have seeded a cancer in the heart of the west that will consume us all.

My thoughts and prayers are with my Scandinavian friends. I have spent the last week in America listening to the most fatuous and drooling eulogies for a retiring so-called "satirist" who has never in his life told a joke that mattered, who has never once strayed beyond the cozy media-Democrat comfort zone of dreary snarking at those Republican rubes, and even then has to make funny faces to get a laugh. By contrast, Lars Vilks is a true satirist, and is insisting on no more or less, in a darkening Europe, than the right to choose what he laughs about. I know which of these men has genuine courage.
