Conservatives Would Be Crazy to Sit Out the Midterms

The California legislature, more so than any other elected body in the country, is filled with lawmakers who live to manage other people’s lives and dictate seemingly innocuous personal decisions and behavior:

Pulse nightclub shooting survivors sue Google, Facebook, Twitter over ‘material support’ to ISIS

...In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in Orlando’s federal courthouse, 16 victims of the June 12, 2016 shooting -- the second deadliest in American history -- claim that the three tech giants were responsible for letting ISIS disseminate propaganda on their platforms, thus providing “material support” to the terror group, in violation of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA).

Such support, the suit alleges, let gunman Omar Mateen carry out his attack, which left 49 people dead and another 58 injured, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Mateen was killed in a shootout with responding police officers....

Obama Supporters Rush to Save His ‘Dangerous’ School Leniency Policy for Minority Students

...Politico reports Scott said the GAO report “dispels claims that racially disproportionate rates of discipline are based solely on income.”

“This report underscores the need to combat these gross disparities by strengthening, not rescinding, the 2014 Discipline Guidance Package, which recommends specific strategies to reduce the disparities without jeopardizing school safety,” he added.

The report is not “news,” since no one has disputed that minority students are disciplined at higher rates than whites and Asians. At issue is that Obama supporters attribute those higher rates to racism by teachers and school administrators.

“There are no surprises in the GAO report,” University of San Diego law professor Gail Heriot, a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, confirms to Breitbart News. “From time immemorial, we’ve known boys get disciplined more often than girls. It’s just that in the past nobody was silly enough to argue that anti-male bias was the primary reason.”...

In a law review article on school discipline, Heriot and her colleague Alison Somin assert the Obama directive is “wrongheaded” and has introduced a higher level of “danger” to schools....

Facebook sent a doctor on a secret mission to ask hospitals to share patient data

Facebook was in talks with top hospitals and other medical groups as recently as last month about a proposal to share data about the social networks of their most vulnerable patients.

The idea was to build profiles of people that included their medical conditions, information that health systems have, as well as social and economic factors gleaned from Facebook.

Facebook said the project is on hiatus so it can focus on "other important work, including doing a better job of protecting people's data."

Sanctuary State Opposition

They are calling it, “the mouse that roared.” Cities and Counties across our state are standing up to the bullies in Sacramento and saying NO to California’s Sanctuary State policy. linkLos Alamitos, linkHuntington Beach, linkOrange County, and now linkEscondido have voted to sue the state of California over SB 54. Other cities and counties are also looking to take up the issue in their respective meetings. We need to support our local representatives in this effort! A recent linkHarvard/Harris poll shows that 80%, an overwhelming number of Americans, oppose sanctuary city and state policies. The next step is to put the pressure on your local representatives. We need every city and county in our state to fight back! There is also a ballot initiative in the works that needs our support. Visit Fight Sanctuary State to help any way you can!

No on AB 2943!

Our legislature is at it again. This time, with AB 2943 (Low, D). This bill would make it fraud to offer to help any adult questioning their gender or sexuality. This would include offering pamphlets, counseling, books, or other reference material even if the adult inquired themselves. This could create expensive lawsuits and unfairly targets the first amendments rights of our churches and other family therapists. The bill claims to protect consumers, but ultimately the unintended consequences far outweigh any “protection” it truly provides. This bill already passed it’s first assembly committee and it will be heard in the Assembly Judiciary Committee next week! Call the members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee next week and ask them to VOTE NO on AB 2943! Talking points include:

  • Californians should be able to pursue the type of therapy and support they want
  • AB 2943 is in violation of our First Amendment rights by prohibiting faith-based therapy
  • This bill will undoubtedly initiative costly litigation and punitive damages under the guise of “consumer protection”

NO on AB 1745!

AB 1745 (Ting, D): This bill would place a ban on ALL gas-powered vehicles by 2040. Assemblyman Ting and Governor Brown have floated this idea for years. But in Governor Brown’s last term in office, they see a golden opportunity. By 2040 and onward, AB 1745 would prohibit the DMV from registering any vehicle that was not zero emissions. It would only exclude commercial vehicles that weigh over 10,001 pounds. A mandate like this would be devasting for businesses and Californians alike. AB 1745 is scheduled to be heard in the Assembly Transportation Committee on April 16th. Take a moment to call each member and ask them to VOTE NO on AB 1745. It is an unworkable, unfeasible regulation that would continue to drive businesses and families out of our state.

CRISIS CANCELED: ‘Caravan’ CALLED OFF After Trump’s TOUGH TALK

A ‘caravan’ of Central American asylum-seekers abandoned their plans to march to the southern border of the United States Wednesday, saying they will “wrap up” their journey in Mexico City after President Trump’s threat to deploy the US military to the region.

“A caravan of Central American migrants whose trek across Mexico infuriated President Donald Trump has decided not to travel to the US border, leaders said Tuesday,” writes the AFP

“What we are seeing now is conduct by two public officials, Robert Mueller & Rod Rosenstein, that is unethical, unprofessional, an embarrassment to the U.S. government, and is undermining equal enforcement of the law.”

State Department Records Show Obama Administration Helped Fund George Soros’ Left-Wing Political Activities in Albania

Judicial Watch obtained 32 pages of records showing the Obama administration sent U.S. taxpayers’ funds to a group backed by billionaire George Soros, which used the money to fund left-wing political activities in Albania, including working with the country’s socialist government to push for highly controversial judicial “reform.” The records also detail how the Soros operation helped the State Department review grant applications from other groups for taxpayer funding....

“The Obama administration quietly spent at least $9 million in U.S. taxpayers’ dollars in direct collusion with left-wing billionaire George Soros’ backing of a socialist government in Albania. It is particularly outrageous that the State Department allowed the Soros operation to help direct taxpayer funds to other groups,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said. “George Soros is a billionaire and he shouldn’t be receiving taxpayer support to advance his radical left agenda to undermine freedom here at home and abroad.”
