Humboldt County Republicans to honor Muriel Dinsmore

Muriel Dinsmore will be the honoree at the Humboldt County Republican Party's annual Republican of the Year celebration at the Ingomar Club in Eureka on Saturday. - Times-Standard

The evening -- which will feature Rob Arkley as its guest speaker -- will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a no-host cocktail hour, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Dinsmore, a Humboldt County native, was born in Eureka and raised in Rio Dell.

Professionally, Dinsmore may be best known as a local writer for the Humboldt Times and as editor of the Times-Standard's Accent on People section for 10 years, according to a press release. She followed this with 15 years as director of College of the Redwoods' Public Affairs office.

Dinsmore will be lauded for her achievements as a “professional volunteer” for local community organizations, according to the release.

The extensive list of her accomplishments includes support of the arts and historic architecture, Rotary International, the League of Women Voters, the College of the Redwoods Foundation League and the Eureka Heritage Society.

Humboldt Republican Women, Federated announces Spring Tea!

It is TEA Time… HAT Time…TIME FOR OUR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP TEA sponsored by your Board of Directors. This year our tea will be hosted by Jerrie Bartley in her lovely Eureka home. Let’s make the most of this annual event- BRING A GUEST, a potential new member to enjoy tea, coffee, and lots of GOODIES, while visiting with old friends and making new friends.
