With so much riding on the next election, this will be a busy year for Republicans all over the country. Meet fellow Republicans and like-minded neighbors at our Annual GOP Picnic. Find out how you can get involved, or just come for the fun of it.

This year it is at the Moose Lodge in Eureka. It's Pot-Luck, no charge, come on down!

RAIN OR SHINE! This year’s annual Republican Picnic: Sunday, September 29 in Fortuna

This year’s annual Republican Picnic will be held Sunday, September 29 at Rohner Park, Fortuna. It is sponsored by Humboldt Republican Women and the Republican County Central Committee.

There is no charge to attend the picnic which will feature hamburgers and hot dogs,
but be “pot luck” for salads and desserts. Those whose last name begins with N-Z are asked to bring a salad; those with A-M, a dessert.

Featured speakers will be Supervisor Ryan Sundberg and Eureka Mayor Frank Jager. Everyone is invited to cast a ballot in the Major Issues straw poll. There will also be an auction and raffle.

Hours are 12N-4 p.m.

ANNUAL REPUBLICAN PICNIC IN FORTUNA Sept. 25

Humboldt County’s Republican Central Committee and Humboldt Republican Women Federated will hold the party’s annual picnic at Rohner Park, Fortuna, from 12:30-4 p.m., Sunday, September 25. ◼ MAP

Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs will be furnished. Picnicgoers are asked to bring a salad if their last name begins N-Z and a dessert if A-M, according to Debbie Walker, president of the HRWF. “One of our members, Margaret Stafford, is a renowned pie baker and one her pies will be auctioned at the picnic,” she said. There will be brief speeches by several candidates for office.
