The Factor is calling for the White House to be illuminated in red, white & blue tomorrow

When the complete history is written of the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, the dishonesty and duplicity of the Obama White House will be an inescapable fact.

When the complete history is written of the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, the dishonesty and duplicity of the Obama White House will be an inescapable fact. As we celebrate Independence Day, Americans ought to be disturbed about the ethical quality of the men and women in high office. The signers of the Declaration of Independence would surely be aghast at the unethical, lawless leadership in Washington, D.C.

However, I’d like to think the Founders would be happy with the vigilance and persistence of Judicial Watch in holding our government leaders accountable for their misdeeds....

On September 12, the day after the attack, Meehan sent an email to Obama administration officials announcing that “to ensure we are all in sync on messaging for the rest of the day, Ben Rhodes will host a conference call for USG communicators on this chain at 9:15AM ET today.”

Think about this timeline. Obama and Hillary Clinton talk. The White House along with State then composes and issues Hillary Clinton’s statement falsely tying the Internet video to the attack. We can’t find any other government documents other than Hillary’s statement that September 11, 2012, night tying the attack to the video. This all leads me to conclude that Hillary Clinton originated the video lie in partnership with the Obama White House. And I’m willing to bet that the phone call earlier between Clinton and Obama set the whole lie in motion. As I told Fox News this week, if the details of the call were helpful, the details would be released. As they’re being kept secret, one can assume the details of the Obama-Clinton call are damning.

As if the new White House bombshells weren’t enough, the new documents show that the Obama administration engaged domestic and foreign Islamist groups and foreign nationals to push the Internet video narrative.

The day after the attack, Rashad Hussain, the Obama administration’s special envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), sent an email to Ambassador Ufuk Gokcen, the OIC’s ambassador to the United Nations, and Cenk Uraz, an official with the OIC, pushing the video as the cause of the Benghazi attack. The OIC is supported by 57 nations and purports to be “the collective voice of the Muslim world.” The OIC is no friend of freedom and is an apologist for terrorism, to put it charitably. So this pernicious international body is, of course, a key ally for the Obama Benghazi disinformation campaign. The Obama envoy’s email has the subject line: “Urgent: Anti-Islamic Film and Violence” and reads in part:
I am sure you are considering putting a statement on the film and the related violence. In addition to the condemnation of the disgusting depictions, it will be important to emphasize the need to respond in a way that is consistent with Islamic principles, i.e. not engaging in violence and taking innocent life …

They said it was a “protest” not a terrorist attack. Now there’s more proof that they lied.

Joe Mathews: Scalia is right about California’s exceptionalism

Let’s stipulate that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was wrong to dissent in last week’s ruling legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide.

But Scalia was right to suggest that California has been a different place than the American West. And in doing so, he unwittingly raised an important question about California’s future.

Germany: School warns parents to dress daughters moderately to avoid offending Muslim refugees

The head teacher at a school in a small town in the southeast corner of Germany has sent a letter warning parents to prevent their daughters from wearing any skimpy clothing because about 200 war-displaced Syrian refugees are living in a shelter next to the school’s gym....

In his note to parents, head teacher Martin Thalhammer explained that female students should dress especially modestly to avoid offending the Syrian refugees with the sight of too much skin....

“If underage Muslim boys go to the pool, they are completely overwhelmed trying to see girls in bikinis,” the politician reportedly said. “The boys — in their culture bare skin of women is totally frowned upon.”

Obama administration to block new Redskins stadium over team's name

The Obama administration will likely block Washington, D.C., authorities from building a new stadium for the NFL's Washington Redskins because of objections to the team’s name.

The National Park Service (NPS) owns the land under the 54-year-old Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, a venue two miles east of the Capitol that hosted the Redskins from 1961 to 1996. Some city leaders want to demolish the current stadium and build a new one to lure the football team back from suburban Maryland.

But Interior Secretary Sally Jewell, whose department includes the NPS, told D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser in April that, unless the Redskins change their name, the Obama administration would not work to accommodate construction of a new venue, according to The Washington Post.

OBAMA BLOCKS PLAN TO FIGHT ISIS

...Some of America’s closest allies say President Barack Obama and other Western leaders, including David Cameron, are failing to show strategic leadership over the world’s gravest security crisis for decades.

They now say they are willing to “go it alone” in supplying heavy weapons to the Kurds, even if means defying the Iraqi authorities and their American backers, who demand all weapons be channelled through Baghdad.

High level officials from Gulf and other states have told this newspaper that all attempts to persuade Mr Obama of the need to arm the Kurds directly as part of more vigorous plans to take on Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) have failed. The Senate voted down one attempt by supporters of the Kurdish cause last month.

The officials say they are looking at new ways to take the fight to Isil without seeking US approval.

THE ENVIRONMENT GOES TO POT

Stealing water in a drought won’t help legalize marijuana. - Peter Hannaford/American Spectator 6/30/15

Marijuana “grows” are the new environmental menace. Teams of sheriff’s deputies from three northern California counties found ample evidence of this in raids on several illegal grows last week. They were in a remote area called Island Mountain, where the three counties of the “Emerald Triangle” (Humboldt, Trinity, and Mendocino) converge.

The deputies served 20 search warrants, then seized and disposed of 86,578 “adult” marijuana plants, 4,394 pounds of processed marijuana, and 15 pounds of marijuana hashish in brick form. Along with these they seized 25 guns, 50,000 rounds of ammunition, and $8,877 in cash. They estimated the “street value” of the marijuana haul to be $26.5 million.

Officials of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife accompanied the teams to assess the effect of the grows on watersheds. They found 97 environmental violations. (Note: Combined, the seized plants required 50,000 gallons of water a day. One ounce of processed marijuana requires 34 gallons of water.)

They found several reservoirs that were used to water the marijuana grows. These had been bulldozed out of hillsides to divert (that is, steal) water from local streams. There was other land grading—without permits—as well as evidence of diesel fuel spills, dumped oil, and garbage. Most of these grows were in large greenhouses which use huge amounts of fertilizer. This leeches into local watersheds, causing algae “blooms” downstream.

Diesel fuel is used in the generators that provide illumination and growth lights for the crops.

In earlier raids, when most grows were smaller and outdoors, growers spread rodenticides to kill rats. These also killed small animals such as ferrets and martins.

Both legal and illegal marijuana is grown in California. In 1996 voters approved the use of medical marijuana. A user first needs a physician’s letter of recommendation. This can be shown at a licensed dispensary in order to get a “215” card. This permits a few plants to be grown by the holder or allows a third person to do it. Several growers may grow plants for several card holders.

The county sheriff’s office estimates there are 5,000 marijuana growers in Humboldt County alone, with a large percentage being illegal. As for the Island Mountain raids, “Growers in the area have an early warning system,” the local Times-Standard reports, “with people calling up the road when official vehicles are seen, allowing growers to leave the premises before police arrive.”

It makes no difference, a Humboldt County sheriff told the paper: “We don’t need anybody around to prove who lives there.” Since the Island Mountain area is not promising lumber-harvesting or cattle ranching land, about the only activity around is marijuana-growing.

California’s dry and wet spells come and go. The current dry one is in its second year, so there is widespread worry about the health of the area’s streams and rivers. If there is not enough water coming down from the creeks of the watersheds, there will not be enough for young salmon and steelhead to thrive in the rivers so they can later head out to sea.

Area environmentalists, who were largely silent when small mammals were being killed by growers’ rodenticides, are now joining the law enforcers in decrying the theft of water from public lands to feed large illegal grows. A group of legal growers is asking for definitive regulations as a way to reduce the number of those grows.

The Island Mountain raid was only the beginning. The sheriffs’ teams are preparing to mount more raids on illegal grows throughout the summer.

One might assume that with such a high level of cooperation, State would have long ago handed over all relevant documents. But that is apparently not the case.

The State Department has informed the House Select Committee on Benghazi that it is withholding "a small number" of documents from investigators on the basis of "important executive branch institutional interests." The statement, made in a letter from Assistant Secretary of State Julia Frifield to committee chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy, amounts to a de facto claim of some form of executive branch privilege.

Frifield made the claim in a letter turning over 3,600 pages of Benghazi-related documents from three current and former administration officials: Susan Rice, Jake Sullivan, and Cheryl Mills. Rice, a former United Nations ambassador, is now national security adviser, while Sullivan and Mills are close aides to Hillary Clinton who worked at the department when she was secretary of state.

The State Department has long insisted that it is fully cooperating with lawmakers investigating the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack. One might assume that with such a high level of cooperation, State would have long ago handed over all relevant documents. But that is apparently not the case.

End Of Discussion

Agree or disagree, from flags to gay marriage, some folks want you to keep it to yourself. The unbridled furor of the Left and its vast echo chamber is now full-throated, and demanding – demanding! – that any and all who disagree with them publicly to just . . . SHUT UP!

They want an . . . END OF DISCUSSION. And probably a lot more.

Was there ever a more timely book, then, than the new acclaimed work by Mary Katharine Ham and Guy Benson, END OF DISCUSSION: How the Left's Outrage Industry Shuts Down Debate, Manipulates Voters, and Makes America Less Free (and Fun)?

Why are Ben Carson and Donald Trump Rising? It's Obvious

Ben Carson and Donald Trump are seemingly opposites, Carson is understated and casual, Trump is bellicose and over the top, but both have worked in professions where you need a good sense of people and both men are good at communicating their message. They're better at it than even the good conservative candidates. That doesn't mean they're electable, but it means they'll have an easier time standing out of a crowd.

Most Americans hate public speaking. Carson and Trump are good at it in their own ways. And they both appear unrehearsed, which is a plus in an era of over-rehearsed candidates.

Instead of complaining about them, conservatives ought to learn from them.

The Supreme Court has declined to hear a case allowing states to require proof of citizenship for those applying to vote in federal elections, effectively upholding a lower court ruling against Kansas and Arizona.

The latest mystery over Hillary's missing e-mails

Now this was predictable: The State Department on Thursday said Hillary Clinton failed to turn over 15 work-related e-mails from her private server, despite claiming she’d handed over everything.
Which raises the troubling question: How many more did she also, uh, “miss”?

Discussion at Luciannne:

The United States supported the secret supply of weapons to Libyan rebels while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State according to federal court documents obtained by Fox News.

In a sworn declaration to the District Court of Arizona May 5th 2015, a career CIA officer David Manners said, "It was then, and remains now, my opinion that the United States did participate, directly or indirectly, in the supply of weapons to the Libyan Transitional National Council." The timing matters because in the Spring of 2011 the Libyan opposition was not formally recognized, and the direct supply of arms was not authorized. At that time, the CIA Director was David Petraeus....

In her only congressional testimony to date on Benghazi in January 2013, Mrs. Clinton was asked by Republican Senator Rand Paul about the flow of weapons.

"I will see what information is available," then Secretary Clinton ‎responded. "I don't have any information on that."

Two weeks after her testimony, a letter from the State Department was sent to Senator Paul skirting his question and stated that the US government “is not involved in any transfer of weapons from Libya to Turkey.” ◼ (SENATOR PAUL LETTER)

Did the Gay Marriage Ruling Just Legalize Concealed Carry Nationwide? Legal Experts Weigh In

‘SCOTUS Ruling On Same-Sex Marriage Mandates Nationwide Concealed Carry Reciprocity.’

This was the title of a highly shared article over the weekend, where writer Bob Owens made the case that a SCOTUS ruling on gay marriage sets a precedent for all states to honor concealed carry permits. The argument followed like this:

1. The court used the 14th Amendment to establish that states cannot discriminate or deprive a citizen of rights....

2. In the majority decision, the judges argue that “certain personal choices central to individual dignity and autonomy” are now protected by Due Process...

3. Since concealed carry is a “personal choice” that must be licensed by the state, all states must now honor these permits as to not discriminate against gun owners who are expressing their “individual dignity and autonomy.”

SCOTUS overturns Obama's EPA air quality rule

The Supreme Court overturned the Obama administration’s landmark air quality rule on Monday, ruling the Environmental Protection Agency did not properly consider the costs of the regulation.

In a 5-4 ruling, the justices ruled that the EPA should have taken into account the costs to utilities and others in the power sector before even deciding whether to set limits for the toxic air pollutants it regulated in 2011.

The case, Michigan v. EPA, centers on the EPA’s first limits on mercury, arsenic and acid gases emitted by coal-fired power plants, known as mercury and air toxics (MATS). Opponents, including the National Federation of Independent Business, say it's among the costliest regulations ever issued.
