#VALege Special Election last night: Dem gets absolutely crushed in district Obama won by 10 points

Last month, Republicans just narrowly came up short on Virginia’s Eastern Shore in a special election where control of the Virginia Senate was at stake. Former state Sen. Ralph Northam, D, had left his seat behind when he was elevated to the post of Lieutenant Governor. - Conservative Intel

But the winner of that special election, state Del. Lynwood Lewis, D, left another vacancy behind him, which Virginia voters filled last night. The Republican candidate, Robert Bloxom, crushed Democrat Willie Randall, 60 to 40 percent, despite the fact that the district had gone 54 percent for President Obama in 2012 and 55 percent for Tim Kaine for Senate.

Not only did Bloxom win the district big, he also came within a hair of winning its most liberal precincts — the ones in Norfolk city itself.
Speaker of the House William J. Howell, R-Stafford, issued a statement after Bloxom’s win, saying it was a clear sign that voters in Virginia reject ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion:

Rob’s opponent proudly and vocally ran on President Obama’s agenda, ObamaCare and implementing Medicaid expansion in Virginia. The citizens of the 100th House District made it absolutely clear tonight that they oppose ObamaCare and ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion.
