Polls have just closed in Alabama and Mississippi. Mitt Romney wanted to put it away tonight, and that’s not happening. Before the votes were counted, the Romney camp already seemed set on skipping an election-night address. - Michelle Malkin

Early exit poll results show Rick Santorum slightly ahead in Alabama and Mississippi a three-way toss-up between Santorum, Romney, and Newt Gingrich. CNN exits showed Romney and Santorum tied among evangelicals.

Romney has outspent Santorum and Gingrich 4 to 1.
