Another day, another radical Obama nominee.

Surgeon General nominee Murthy thinks guns are a health care issue - Allen West

Hat tip to Howard Portnoy at Liberty Unyielding who writes, “President Obama has jumped right back into the fray with another radical nominee, this time for Surgeon General. But what makes Vivek Hallegere Murthy, 36, such a controversial choice for the post is not what you might expect. The problem with Murthy is his position on guns. Namely, he thinks one of the questions doctors should ask patients during a routine medical history is whether the person has any guns in his home.”

Portnoy reports that Murthy is president and co-founder of Doctors for America, {like Obama For America} an anti-gun group that advocates making gun control a facet of the practice of medicine. He also wants to spend tax dollars on more research to prove that fewer guns mean a lower crime rate – never mind that numerous reputable studies prove the opposite.

Before the 2012 presidential election, Murthy tweeted that “guns are a health care issue” and believes not only should doctors counsel patients against gun ownership, but patients’ private medical records should include gun ownership – which of course would be available to government scrutiny under Obamacare.”
