Dan Lungren measure passes to cut House spending

Committees in the House of Representatives will cut their spending by an average of 6.4 percent, under a resolution passed Wednesday night. - Sacramento Bee

"All of our constituents need us to do more with less and to rein in government spending," Lungren said during the evening debate. "Families have been required to tighten their belts, and they constantly ask us to do the very same thing."

Some House Democrats opposed the measure... The resolution does not need Senate approval.
