NYC mayor: America has a 'democracy problem'



New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) said on Sunday that Americans would benefit from reformed national voting laws.

“We have a democracy problem,” de Blasio told host John Dickerson on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

...“Secretary Clinton put forward a notion we need a national strategy to energize voting again, to get people involved,” he said. “Obviously, to address the many efforts made by Republicans to repress voter involvement.”

De Blasio Is a Lesson New Yorkers Need to Learn

Every election is another opportunity for the city to commit suicide. After decades in which the voters elected candidates who wouldn’t completely destroy their city and then salt the earth with their tears, a small decisive percentage of New Yorkers put a gun to the head of their city and fired a bullet named Bill de Blasio into its brain.

Like most brutal incidents in the Big Apple, Bill de Blasio won’t kill New York City. His term in office will be another painful learning experience. Every few decades New Yorkers lose their street sense and let a progressive take over. And then when his term is up, the city is out of money, everyone has been mugged at least once and nothing works, they kick him out again.

It’s a generational ritual that lets seasoned New Yorkers look back in horror at the days of Lindsay or Dinkins and now De Blasio. While the New York Times gushes adoringly over his every insane new policy, without noticing that they were all badly translated from the original Russian, his true function is to become a cautionary tale about the dangers of voting your politics instead of your pocketbook....

Dying For a Cigarette in New York

What "brought us to this day" is not a "history" of racism; it's the left's maniacal pursuit of taxes -- the precise reason cops were arresting Eric Garner. He was selling untaxed cigarettes. He resisted arrest and, in the tussle, had a fatal heart attack.

Cops don't want to enforce these nonsense revenue-generating laws, but that's their job.

On Monday night, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow reported in horror that there has been a major reduction in fine-collection by the police. NEW YORKERS ARE GETTING AWAY WITH IDLING THEIR CARS! WHAT KIND OF A CITY HAVE WE BECOME? She accused the police of "holding a city hostage," warning, "If they feel like they don't have public support now, is this supposed to earn it back?"

Why, yes, I think it is. The only time normal people get annoyed at cops is precisely for these revenue-collection laws -- parking tickets, moving violations, driving without a seatbelt, selling untaxed cigarettes, jaywalking and so on. So it was quite brilliant of the cops to zero in on the laws that exist just because Democrats want the money.

New York mayor's secret past comes to light

Largely unreported in the news coverage of the recent race-related demonstrations is that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has a history of working with extremist activist groups to stir protests.

Further, de Blasio has a largely unreported history with the controversial Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN.

ACORN’s renamed group, the New York Communities for Change, is one of the organizations helping to lead the protests over the death of Eric Garner, who was killed by police in July.

De Blasio has been accused by critics, including New York police officers, of helping to fuel racial tension between police and protesters....

De Blasio, Soros, MoveOn.org and protests

During the mayoral race last year, New York City media reported billionaire George Soros had endorsed de Blasio. But the reports failed to disclose the billionaire’s major financial donation to de Blasio’s nonprofit as well as the candidate’s cozy working relationship with Soros-funded activist groups. De Blasio worked with some of those groups to stir protests.

In 2011, using his position of public advocate, de Blasio launched a nonprofit called the Coalition for Accountability in Political Spending, or CAPS. The group received its primary launch donation of $400,000 from Soros’ Open Society Institute.

New York Times ONLY tolerates Protests on behalf of Thugs and Criminals such as Michael Brown and Eric Garner

◼ What does the NYTimes have to say when New York Police give silent protest to nutjob Mayor Bill de Blasio in the form of a silent protest or a mild heckle? “These are disgraceful acts” says the NYTimes. Ha, ain’t that RICH? - Femisex

The CRAZY Times says such peaceful protesting by police demonstrates a “snarling sense of victimhood that seems to be motivating the anti-de Blasio campaign...” Nevermind the fact the de Blasio (aka Big Bird) has slapped and slapped at police since he took office and…even in the face of the cold-blooded execution of two NYPD, Big Birdy boiled mad when it is suggested the anti-cop protests spurred those murders....

Now compare and contrast the Times hateful anti-cop op-ed to their loving tribute to the not-silent, and wholly disruptive protests the tangled the streets of New York by those who protested the fact that two men--who were clearly breaking the law and resisting arrest—died because of their own actions, aggression in one case, resistance in the other:

To that the Times says:
Those protesters “showed a vivid grasp of symbolism.” And despite the fact of oft occurring chants of wanting to see dead cops, the CRAZY NYTimes called those protests a form of “peaceable dissent that lent credibility and potency to their demands.”

Lynch mobs have consequences.

A lynch mob is all fun and games until someone actually gets lynched.

At first everyone has a good time marching around and shouting “Black Lives Matter” and “I Can’t Breathe.” The police are accused of being racist killers by the defenders of actual racist killers like Mumia Abu Jamal. Every community organizer within a thousand miles shows up to brandish signs claiming cops are randomly killing innocent black men even as he spits and throws bottles at any cop within reach. Not to mention engaging in the occasional act of convenience store redistribution.

The Mayor of New York City announces that his ridiculously famous son has to be afraid of the police. Obama agrees that his imaginary son also has to be afraid of the police. Their claims are equally plausible.

The lynch mobs make it their mission to invade holiday events, protest parades and scream racist rants. Then they begin attacking police officers. The media insists that protests whose participants chant, “What do we want? Dead cops!” are peaceful.

This homicidally insane definition of “peaceful” had only previously been applied to Islam.

And then, shockingly, surprisingly, out of the blue, protests led by Al Sharpton featuring violent attacks on cops finally achieve their goal with the murder of two police officers.

Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley announced on Instagram, “I’m Putting Wings On Pigs Today. They Take 1 Of Ours…Let’s Take 2 of Theirs.” #ShootThePolice #RIPErivGarner #RIPMike Brown.

It may have been the first murder that came with its own progressive social media hashtags.

But even the most violently peaceful lynch mobs eventually end with a lynching. There is no such thing as a peaceful lynch mob. There is no such thing as peacefully supporting a lynch mob.... KEEP READING

On Saturday night's broadcast of Justice with Judge Jeanine, former New York Police Department commissioner Bernard Kerik reacted to the news that two NYPD officers were ambushed and killed while on patrol in Brooklyn. Kerik said Mayor Bill de Blasio and Al Sharpton both "have blood on their hands."

Kerik accused de Blasio of "inciting" protesters who chanted "kill the cops" during a protest on the Brooklyn Bridge last Saturday.

"I personally feel, that Mayor de Blasio, [Al] Sharpton and others like them, they actually have blood on their hands," Kerik said on FOX News. "They encouraged this behavior. They encouraged protests. These so-called peaceful protests that, where people are standing out there saying 'kill the cops,' well, I hope they're happy, because they got what they wanted."
