Ted Cruz vs. Dianne Feinstein.

...A normally level-headed Joe Scarborough said, “This guy, what he is saying, the way he is framing his question suggests complete, utter ignorance.”

Scarborough called Cruz ignorant no less than five times.

“It suggests complete, utter ignorance of what the Second Amendment says and what … the conservative court said in 2008,” Scarborough bitterly complained.

The 2008 decision was District of Columbia v. Dick Anthony Heller. Scarborough repeatedly suggested that Cruz should have read the case instead of confronting Feinstein without the facts.

But that’s laughable.

Not only is Cruz familiar with District of Columbia v. Heller, he’s the guy who argued the Heller amicus brief for 31 states and won!

Scarborough’s foaming at the mouth went so far as to suggest that Harvard is a sub-par law school. “Did they teach Ted Cruz to read what the Supreme Court said, especially in the landmark decision regarding Second Amendment rights?”

Yup, Joe. They sure did.

“When he lectures Dianne Feinstein that she is violating the Second Amendment, that it impinges upon Second Amendment rights, that’s just false.” Scarborough exclaimed at one point, “Read the damn case law!”

Actually, Cruz did read the case law and went right to the spot that might render Feinstein’s ban as unconstitutional. Cruz correctly points out that Heller forbids Congress from outlawing weapons that are common and ordinary. If Feinstein’s bill really does cover 4 million weapons then Cruz might be correct to say it’s a violation of Heller....
