Dinesh D'Souza has had a big week. Not only has his latest book, "Obama's America: Unmaking the American Dream," climbed to No. 2 on the New York Times' best-seller list. His movie based on the same book, "2016: Obama's America," has become the highest-grossing political documentary of all time, behind only Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11."

D'Souza Gets Boffo Results By Exploding Obama Story

D'Souza: It shows a real hunger for information on Obama. There's a sense we haven't got the full story on this guy. Lots of people in the media think it's morally important that Obama be reelected. They will highlight positive information (about the president) and downplay or dismiss negative information. The result is people aren't getting the full picture.

So when people see the film, there's almost a sense of an epiphany, like: "Wow! There's all this stuff about Obama. Why haven't I been reading this in the New York Times and seeing it on the network news?" So the film has become a real weapon, if you will, in the information battle about Obama.

IBD: What do you think are the most compelling facts in the book and movie?

D'Souza: What has proved to be the devastating aspect of this film and also my book is the fact that they explode the official Obama stories...
