New Project Veritas video uncovers Al Sharpton's exploitation of racial situations and African-American families

GOP governors: Obama is an obstructionist

◼ Republican governors on Monday blasted President Obama for resisting compromise with the GOP-controlled Congress. - David Drucker/Washington Examiner

During a news conference after meeting with Obama at the White House, Republican governors criticized the president for vowing to veto legislation authorizing the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, and similarly threatening to reject a House-passed bill that would fund the Department of Homeland Security while reversing his executive immigration order....

The governors also unloaded on the president for asking them to participate in improving the lives on everyday Americans but then rejecting most of the solutions they propose that require federal sign-off, such as overhauling state Medicaid programs.

“It’s not shocking news that things are not just bogged down but stuck in Washington,” said Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, chairman of the Republican Governors Association. “A lot of people have an interest in keeping things stirred up and stuck.

Jindal faces down 2016 tests with CPAC, budget speeches

◼ Standing outside of the White House on Monday, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal questioned the President Obama’s qualifications as commander in chief while, implicitly, pushing his own. - Washington Examiner

“The president has really disqualified himself to be our commander in chief,” Jindal said after a National Governors Association meeting there, according to reports. “There are many of us that are very concerned about the president’s unwillingness to call out radical Islamic terrorism and the threat that we face as a country."

Jindal echoed those remarks later in an interview with the Washington Examiner, and that theme will be at the center of his speech Thursday to the Conservative Political Action Conference near Washington, D.C....

“We respectfully request that FCC leadership immediately release the 332-page Internet regulation plan publicly and allow the American people a reasonable period of not less than 30 days to carefully study it,” Republican Commissioners Ajit Pai and Michael O’Rielly said in a statement Monday. “Then, after the commission reviews the specific input it receives from the American public and makes any modifications to the plan as appropriate, we could proceed to a final vote.”

Critics of President Obama’s “net neutrality” plan call it ObamaCare for the Internet.

That’s unfair to ObamaCare.

Both ObamaCare and “Obamanet” submit huge industries to complex regulations. Their supporters say the new rules had to be passed before anyone could read them. But at least ObamaCare claimed it would solve long-standing problems. Obamanet promises to fix an Internet that isn’t broken.

No one, including the bullied FCC chairman, Tom Wheeler, thought the agency would go this far. The big politicization came when President Obama in November demanded that the supposedly independent FCC apply the agency’s most extreme regulation to the Internet. A recent page-one Wall Street Journal story headlined “Net Neutrality: How White House Thwarted FCC Chief” documented “an unusual, secretive effort inside the White House . . . acting as a parallel version of the FCC itself.”

Congress is demanding details of this interference.
