#Happy4th: Enjoy the fireworks!

FORTUNA: An evening full of low-cost family fun is scheduled to take place at the eighth annual Fortuna Fireworks Festival. The festival includes a barbecue, music, fireworks, vendors, an apple pie-eating contest and many children’s activities. After dark, there will be a light show and outdoor dance party to entertain the crowd before the fireworks.

EUREKA: A fireworks show is planned over Humboldt Bay at 10 p.m. Donations are still being sought for the fireworks show. Make direct contributions to City of Eureka, 531 K St., Eureka, 95501. Attn: Pam.

ARCATA: No evening fireworks are planned in Arcata this year.

GARBERVILLE: The annual Fourth of July fireworks show — hosted by the Garberville Redway Area Chamber of Commerce and produced by Pyro Spectaculars — will begin around 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed from Benbow Lake State Recreation Area for a nominal day use fee of $ per car. There are picnic tables and barbecues on site. Parking is limited and is on a first come, first served basis.
