After Obama Sends Secret Letter to Iran, Romney Lashes Out With a Fierceness We Rarely See

Fox News reports that Obama wrote Khamenei a letter asking him to join the war against ISIS. He sought to tie any potential alliance to striking a nuclear deal between the U.S. and Iran. - IJ Review

Mitt Romney condemned the action, calling it “an enormous error.” Politico reports:
“I was frankly stunned that the president of the United States would write a letter of that nature and in effect, legitimize a nation and a leadership which is violating international norms and is threatening the world…”

“This is the fourth time the president has reached out an open hand to Iran,” Romney said. “It continues to diminish himself and America, these acts of his that unfortunately lead bad people to assume that America can be pushed around and I find it very unfortunate.”
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers shared similar sentiments, calling efforts to reach out to Iran behind Congress’ back “really concerning.”
