The most important job of the media is holding the powerful accountable. This task, I believe, is why the founders put the freedom of the press in the First Amendment.

...The Washington Post oddly writes that Obama has been "accused" of breaking a promise. And then the New York Times laughably writes, "Mr. Obama clearly misspoke when he said that."

This isn't merely a matter of liberal media bias. This is dereliction of duty. Apologizing and covering up for the President when he lied is doing the opposite of what the media is supposed to do. And it encourages future politicians to lie — because as long as you insist the other side is wrong, the media is now drawn to cover your argument as if it's plausible.
