“While student “Dreamers” here illegally from south of the border garner bleeding-heart front-page stories ... the high-achieving sons and daughters of legal immigrants from Asia are getting shafted by far-left Democrats.”

Caveat emptor: In particular, students and parents might want to pay attention to how university administrations react to problems on campus.

...At the University of California - Berkeley last year, violent protesters forced the cancellation of an event with Milo Yiannopolous – setting fires, throwing Molotov cocktails and fireworks, and attacking bystanders. No arrests were made.

Perhaps families of prospective UC Berkeley students might be interested in learning that the school’s administration doesn’t place a high priority on enforcing existing campus policies on violence and assault.

And the list goes on....

Obama Supporters Rush to Save His ‘Dangerous’ School Leniency Policy for Minority Students

...Politico reports Scott said the GAO report “dispels claims that racially disproportionate rates of discipline are based solely on income.”

“This report underscores the need to combat these gross disparities by strengthening, not rescinding, the 2014 Discipline Guidance Package, which recommends specific strategies to reduce the disparities without jeopardizing school safety,” he added.

The report is not “news,” since no one has disputed that minority students are disciplined at higher rates than whites and Asians. At issue is that Obama supporters attribute those higher rates to racism by teachers and school administrators.

“There are no surprises in the GAO report,” University of San Diego law professor Gail Heriot, a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, confirms to Breitbart News. “From time immemorial, we’ve known boys get disciplined more often than girls. It’s just that in the past nobody was silly enough to argue that anti-male bias was the primary reason.”...

In a law review article on school discipline, Heriot and her colleague Alison Somin assert the Obama directive is “wrongheaded” and has introduced a higher level of “danger” to schools....

Look homeward, "change agents"

...There were no district-wide walkouts and nationwide protests when Broward County parents of special-needs students were laughed at during a school board meeting as they exposed how their children had been bullied, beaten and bitten by tormentors without consequences in 2016. Nor was there a massive uproar last fall when the district acknowledged a whopping 480 incidents of alleged sexual harassment and abuse in its schools.

As a famous Chicago community organizer once quipped, “Change is hard.” Selfies with gun control armbands is easy. Cleaning your own house, district and county is hard. Junkets to D.C. are easy. Digging through audits and public records is hard. Regurgitating Mad Libs-like talking points against the NRA and Second Amendment is easy.

Go back to class and look homeward, all you young “change agents.” The faultiest faults are near, not far.....

Uncanny. It's the Evergreen script. Bottom line: It's educational malpractice. It's illegal in a public school. And it's spreading.

In School Districts Everywhere, Taxpayers Unknowingly Pay Millions to Fund Democrat Campaigns Nationwide

In Douglas County, Colorado, the front line of the fight for school choice and vouchers on the SCOTUS level, Republican voters outnumber Democrats about two to one. Yet until recently, Republican taxpayers in this peaceful suburb south of Denver were unwittingly paying about $1.25 million a year to fund Democrats’ political campaigns.

How so? Most of the district’s 4,300 plus teachers belonged to the local American Federation of Teachers (AFT) union, to which they paid about $1.25 million in dues annually, according to the union’s IRS filings. Since teachers’ salaries are paid by the county’s property tax payers, their dues come out of those salaries. So the $1.25 million annual dues end up in the coffers of the AFT and that money is funneled to the campaigns of Democrats running for office. That’s a lot of Republican-bashing TV campaign commercials and mailers.... especially galling for Douglas County Republicans because 60% of them voted for Donald Trump, even while they were funding Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign through their teachers’ union dues.
