This Navy SEAL who works to help veterans is entering politics. And he’s a Republican
◼ If Eric Greitens sent you his résumé, you wouldn’t believe it. - Bill McMorris/Washington Free Beacon
ut maybe you have some time to kill and figure why not call him up, go to his home in Missouri, and catch him in a lie. “Very impressive resume, Mr. Greitens. A Navy SEAL and a Rhodes Scholar? Sure buddy, and I’m Mother Teresa … oh, so now you’ve worked with Mother Teresa …”
The conversation could go on like this for hours. You’d hear how he spent his Duke University years tending to victims of poverty and genocide from Calcutta to Rwanda, that after Oxford he turned down his ticket to the One Percent to become a SEAL to live out his humanitarianism-through-strength dissertation thesis, that he lived off an air mattress to start a non-profit helping wounded veterans. He’d tell you that Fortune Magazine named him one of the 50 greatest leaders in the world, that Time Magazine said he’s one of the 100 most influential, that he’s only 40 years old. By the end of the conversation, you’d fly down to St. Louis to see if he’s lying when he says he’s a golden gloves champ, too. KEEP READING

PFARRER: AMERICANS SOLD A BOGUS STORY OF BIN LADEN KILL MISSION
Retired SEAL Team commander Chuck Pfarrer, author of SEAL Target Geronimo: The Inside Story of the Mission to Kill Osama bin Laden, told Guns & Patriots that the Obama White House manufactured their own narrative of the SEAL raid that killed bin Laden for the purpose of a quid pro quo with Hollywood.
The 2012 action thriller “Zero Dark Thirty” allegedly tells the story about the May 1, 2011 SEAL raid code-named “Neptune’s Spear” on bin Laden who was hiding in Abottabad, Pakistan, is fictitious, said the former SEAL commander, who spoke to members of the SEAL Team Six, and other principals involved while gathering information on his book. “Look at the movie – it’s preposterous.”

Video: Parents of fallen SEAL demand Obama resignation
◼ For years, Barack Obama relied on the success of the bin Laden mission to make the argument that he could lead the nation in war. Now the Vaughns accuse Obama of “a cowardly lack of leadership,” and demand his resignation over the administration’s failure to stop ISIS when it had opportunities to do so - Ed Morrissey/HotAir
...it’s clear that the only part of the job that truly engages Obama is the set of perks the office provides, which means he’s not going to simply walk away from the Presidency, even if history provided more precedents for it than it does. He’s not going to marry himself to Richard Nixon for eternity, after all, not willingly at least.
As a strategic demand, then, this is an exercise in futility. As a cri de coeur, however, it succeeds — and highlights once again the growing consensus that Obama is out of his depth on national security and foreign policy.

It Appears That Eight SEALS Thought To Be Blown Up over Afghanistan fought on the ground until they were killed by the Taliban
◼ According to Michael Strange’s parents, Michael along with 8 other SEALS made it out of the Chinook and were fighting on the ground. - Before It's News
This seems now to be the biggest cover up in United States Government and Military History.
Recently Michael Strange was awarded the Silver Star for valor. His parents were not invited to the White House for the Ceremony.

The disclosure of the IG report could undermine the Obama administration’s claims that senior officials have not leaked classified information
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta revealed the name of the Navy SEAL unit that carried out the Osama bin Laden raid and named the unit’s ground commander at a 2011 ceremony attended by “Zero Dark Thirty” filmmaker Mark Boal.
Panetta also discussed classified information designated as “top secret” and “secret” during his presentation at the awards ceremony, according to a draft Pentagon inspector general’s report published Wednesday by the Project on Government Oversight....
Last spring, Republicans publicly attacked President Barack Obama and his top aides, alleging that the administration leaked national security secrets to burnish Obama’s standing for his reelection bid.
Word that Panetta, a key member of Obama’s national security team, might have been responsible for improper disclosures without encountering any known repercussions comes as the administration faces questions over the fairness of the aggressive anti-leak investigations and prosecutions being mounted by the Justice Department.
The release of the findings in the draft report may also raise questions about why the document has been under wraps for so long, and which of its conclusions were known to White House officials prior to last November’s election.
Asked Wednesday about the report, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said he was not familiar with it and would have to get back to reporters. No further response was forthcoming by late Wednesday afternoon.

The Man Who Killed Osama bin Laden... Is Screwed
Published in the March 2013 issue - 7 fascinating pages - at the link.
Phil Bronstein is the former editor of the San Francisco Chronicle and currently serves as executive chairman of the Center for Investigative Reporting. This piece was reported in cooperation with CIR.
◼ *Shock*: Esquire Article Documenting John Rambo Treatment of Guy Who Killed bin Laden Full of Sh*t [UPDATED] - MyPetJawa
◼ Esquire article wrongly claims SEAL who killed bin Laden is denied healthcare - Megan McCloskey/Stars and Stripes
The writer, Phil Bronstein, who heads up the Center for Investigative Reporting, stands by the story. He said the assertion that the government gave the SEAL “nothing” in terms of health care is both fair and accurate, because the SEAL didn’t know the VA benefits existed.
“No one ever told him that this is available,” Bronstein said.
He said there wasn’t space in the article to explain that the former SEAL’s lack of healthcare was driven by an ignorance of the benefits to which he is entitled.
“That’s a different story,” Bronstein said in a phone interview with Stars and Stripes about what he omitted from the article.
The Center for Investigating Reporting posted a story on its website today that goes into greater detail about the SEAL's interactions with the VA, including that he has a disability claim that is stuck in the backlog.

Senator Kelly Ayotte: “I’m More Troubled Now” After Meeting with Ambassador Rice
◼ Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) spoke with reporters after she met with Ambassador Susan Rice this morning. Ayotte said she’s more troubled today after the meeting than she was before they met. - Gateway Pundit
“I’m more troubled today… It’s certainly clear from the beginning that we knew that those with ties to Al-Qaeda were involved in the attack on the embassy. And, clearly the impression that was given, the information given to the American people was wrong and in fact Ambassador Rice said today that Absolutely it was wrong… They have not cleared this up with the American people to date.”
◼ "[T]here was no protest or demonstration in Benghazi." Susan Rice concedes untruth of her remarks. Statement by Ambassador Susan E. Rice, U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations, November 27, 2012
◼ GOP senators: We’re “more disturbed” after meeting with Amb. Rice than we were before - Erika Johnsen/HotAir
In a nutshell, it seems like the meeting helped to get to the bottom of approximately nothing, except to confirm that the “spontaneous protest” line that Amb. Rice peddled was very clearly incorrect and we’re no closer to getting the basic answers about who changed the talking points. So, kind of back to square one — as Sen. Graham wondered again, why did she have to definitively say anything about the attacks? Why not just say, ‘We don’t have enough information to be sure, here are the possibilities, and we’ll keep you updated’?
The senators didn’t explicitly say that they were still committed to blocking her potential nomination to Secretary of State, saying that they’d need more information — I’m sure they’d like to leave themselves some wiggle room on that one — but they’re clearly not satisfied with Susan Rice’s side of the story.
◼ During a meeting on Capitol Hill that lasted for more than an hour, Rice acknowledged "there was no protest" at the Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11 and said that talking points she relied on for making that claim were wrong. - The Hill

The official says four other SEALs are under investigation for similar alleged disclosures.
The punishments were first reported by CBS News.

It was an amazingly audacious lie
Speaking at a photo op about the Sandy hurricane disaster, President Obama said:
"In times of crisis, "we pull together, we leave nobody behind, we make sure we respond as a nation," Obama said, reprising one of his 2012 campaign themes.
"Whenever an American is in need, all of us stand together in providing the help that is necessary," he added."It was an amazingly audacious lie, prompting Grady Gibbs to post on Facebook, "The Brazilians have the perfect expression for this. There's no exact translation for 'sim vergonha,' but it means 'having no shame or pride.'"
Not only "leave nobody behind", but "providing the help that is necessary."
Maybe he thought no one had caught on to the way this administration had failed Ambassador Stevens and those trapped in Benghazi, but three women journalists, at least (Fox's Jennifer Griffin and Catherine Herridge and CBS's Sharyl Attkisson ), have not forgotten those acts of incompetence, treachery and mendacity. They are being helped by countless whistleblowers that share our outrage. And it is obvious even more are coming forward every day fueled by the anger we all share at this failure to "stand together, providing the help that is necessary".
This week's top honors go to Ms. Attkisson whose work deserves your attention. I can only summarize some of the highlights of her work, and I urge you to read it all. More, at the link.

Newt Gingrich: Networks may have White House emails that called off Benghazi rescue
◼ On Tuesday night’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” on the Fox News Channel, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said that major news networks might have secret emails proving that the White House canceled plans to assist the besieged U.S. Embassy in Benghazi. - Daily Caller
Gingrich said that the bombshell emails could be revealed within the next two days. “There is a rumor — I want to be clear, it’s a rumor — that at least two networks have emails from the National Security Adviser’s office telling a counterterrorism group to stand down,” Gingrich said.
