Former NBC exec Jeff Zucker who had 'never heard about of Matt Lauer's sexual misconduct' joked about him masturbating and 'rolled with laughter' about the 'C**k of the Rock's' sexcapades at explicit 2008 roast

...NBC stars Meredith Vieira, Katie Couric, Martha Stewart and Bob Saget were among other speakers who took the jokes at the 2008 further. Vieira joked about both her and Couric having sex with Lauer.

'Look at Katie Couric. She juggled Matt’s balls for six years.

'That’s three years per ball. She squeezed those suckers so tight, she left nothing for me. Thanks, Katie,' she said.

Vieira, who once found a bag of sex toys in Lauer's office, also roped Al Roker into the sex joys.

'People say he’s so prim and proper, like he’s got a stick up his a**. It’s not a stick, my friends, it’s Al Roker’s d***.”

Couric made an extraordinarily rude joke about Lauer, her co-host for several years, performing oral sex on Ann Curry.

'He loves to eat curry,' she said, prompting gasps from the room before adding: 'What? Indian food! What’s wrong with you people?' ...

The Real Battle, is The Battle For Your Mind

  • $220,500.00 in the month of September alone paid by Hillary Clinton’s Priorities USA Super-PAC to Hart Research Associates.
  • The President of Hart Research Associates, Geoff Garin, is working for Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
  • NBC (S Burke) and The WSJ (Murdoch) contact Geoff Garin (Hart Research Associates) for the post-debate poll data they will use on the day following the debate.
  • Hart Research Associates provides a small national poll sample (500) result, with skewed party internals, showing Hillary Clinton +11 points.

Do you see now how “media polling” works, and why we advise to ignore it?

NBC News has zero credibility and the RNC is treating them accordingly... RNC Officially Severs Ties With NBC News For Feb. 26 GOP Debate

After the October debate hosted by NBC partner CNBC—in which co-moderator John Harwood was roundly criticized for a poor performance—the RNC suspended its relationship with NBC News over that upcoming Houston debate.

“I write to inform you that pending further discussion between the Republican National Committee (RNC) and our presidential campaigns, we are suspending the partnership with NBC News for the Republican primary debate at the University of Houston on February 26, 2016,” Priebus wrote to NBC News chairman Andy Lack back in late October. “The RNC’s sole role in the primary debate process is to ensure that our candidates are given a full and fair opportunity to lay out their vision for America’s future. We simply cannot continue with NBC without full consultation with our campaigns.”

In response, NBC News signaled in a statement at the time that it thought the situation could be resolved.

NBC releases early ratings figures for Trump hosting Saturday Night Live

Entertainment Weekly compares those ratings to Hillary Clinton’s appearance in October:
According to NBC, SNL had a whopping 6.6 household rating on Saturday night, easily beating the season’s previous high: the 41st season premiere last month, hosted by Miley Cyrus and with a guest appearance by none other than … Hillary Clinton. In fact, Trump’s overnight rating was 47 percent higher than the Miley/Hillary episode.

“When Comcast took over, they had the No. 1 morning show, the No. 1 Sunday show, and the No. 1 evening broadcast,” says a former top NBC executive. “That’s all completely fallen apart... It’s been a nightmare.”

The Inside Story of the Civil War For the Soul of NBC News - Bryan Burrough/Vanity Fair

...“He couldn’t say the words ‘I lied,’ ” recalls one NBC insider. “We could not force his mouth to form the words ‘I lied.’ He couldn’t explain what had happened. [He said,] ‘Did something happen to [my] head? Maybe I had a brain tumor, or something in my head?’ He just didn’t know. We just didn’t know. We had no clear sense what had happened. We got the best [apology] we could get.”...

...Officially, in a damage-control mode where almost no one will be interviewed freely and on the record, NBC News declined comment for this article. Unofficially, its loyalists cooperated extensively. While admitting the occasional misstep, they reject the harsh critiques that have trailed in the wake of the Williams scandal, blaming them on a coterie of departed executives, including former NBCUniversal C.E.O. Jeff Zucker and former NBC News chief Steve Capus, who resigned under pressure in 2013. “We know the people saying these things about us, and we know why,” one NBC partisan told me. “Because five years later we are still cleaning up the mess they left behind.”...

Brian Williams admits that his story of coming under fire while in Iraq was false

NBC News anchor Brian Williams conceded on Wednesday that a story he had told about being under fire while covering the invasion of Iraq in 2003 was false. - Washington Post
Williams said he was not aboard a helicopter that was hit by enemy fire and forced down — a story he retold as recently as last week during a televised tribute to a retired soldier during a New York Rangers hockey game.

On “NBC Nightly News” Wednesday evening, Williams read a 50-second statement apologizing for his characterization of the episode.

“After a groundfire incident in the desert during the Iraq war invasion, I made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago,” he said. “It did not take long to hear from some brave men and women in the air crews who were also in that desert. I want to apologize. I said I was traveling in an aircraft that was hit by [rocket-propelled grenade] fire. I was instead in a following aircraft. . . . This was a bungled attempt by me to thank one special veteran and, by extension, our brave military men and women, veterans everywhere, those who have served while I did not.”

NBC News finally gets around to reporting on the Jonathan Grubering of America

link - T. Becket Adams/Washington Examiner
NBC News on Tuesday finally devoted a segment to covering MIT health economist Jonathan Gruber and his controversial statements regarding the Affordable Care Act’s “lack of transparency” and the “stupidity of the American voter.”

Gruber, one of the chief architects of Obamacare, appeared before Congress Tuesday to testify on his role in creating the massive healthcare law and his remarks on its questionable passage.

“[I]t is unlikely that most Americans have heard the name Jonathan Gruber until a few weeks ago, when a video emerged of him insulting their intelligence,” NBC News’s Brian Williams said in a Dec. 9 newscast.

Reports that Gruber said at an event in 2013 that Obamacare passed thanks to law’s “lack of transparency” and the “stupidity of the American voter” date back to Nov. 7....

Republicans were hoping to get some answers out of Jonathan Gruber.

What they got instead was of the nation's foremost experts on healthcare who, for a few hours at least, could barely remember his name.

...At the hearing Gruber was asked by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) about a paper he co-authored in 1998, “Abortion Legalization and Child Living Circumstances: Who is the ‘Marginalized Child’,” in which Gruber suggested that children who die as a result of abortion are better off because the majority of them would have ended up in single-parent households and living in poverty.

“So, this gets me to another instance where you committed candor,” Massie said in the hearing. “You conclude legal abortion — and birth outcomes among a birth cohort … and on page 26, you state that your research indicates that the legalization of abortion saved the government $14 billion in welfare payments through 1994,” he continued. “Is providing more access to abortion, is that a worthy social outcome to achieve cost savings for the government?”

New level of Fox News dominance demands analysis, not dismissal

(T)here are three ratings stories the last two weeks that taken together show Fox News rising to a new and remarkable level of dominance - and they have been underreported in the mainstream media. - David Zurawik/Baltimore Sun

First, Fox News beat not just CNN and MSNBC, but also ABC, NBC and CBS on Nov. 4, the night of the mid-term elections. It did so in both total viewers and the key news demographic: viewers 25 to 54 years of age.

Fox more than tripled the audiences of MSNBC and CNN in total viewers, while beating ABC, NBC and CBS by more than 3 million, 2 million and 1 million viewers respectively. (See figures at end of post.)

On a watershed political night, more Americans tuned to Fox for information about the vote than anywhere else.

I have been covering media long enough to remember when CBS, NBC or ABC was the big story on election night in the 1970s and ‘80s.

And, as a critic, as late as 2008, I was thinking no channel mattered more than CNN. This year, for all the reporters it had on the ground election night, CNN barely did better than the we-lost-our-credibility-in-our-slavish-devotion-to-Obama MSNBC. That’s pathetic....

Step One in assessing this sea change is for the media establishment to admit the dominance of Fox News today. Ignoring its success doesn’t make it any less real.

And then, we need to start seriously trying to figure out how and why it has come to pass that Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly matter more to Americans on election night than Brian Williams, Scott Pelley, George Stephanopoulos, Anderson Cooper or Wolf Blitzer – way more than the latter two.

I think one of the reasons for this latest evolution of ratings dominance might be that Fox was a far better watchdog on the Obama White House than any other TV news organization. It took the heat and the blowback from an administration that showed an enmity for the press not seen on Pennsylvania Avenue since the dark days of Richard Nixon, but it stayed the course. And now with viewers seeing the contempt this administration had for them and the truth, they respect what Fox did the last six years.... KEEP READING

NBC Dr. Nancy Snyderman DODGES RESPONSIBILITY In Ebola Quarantine Violation

It's shocking ... - TMZ

NBC News has dug an even deeper hole for itself in it's self-created Ebola scandal. Brian Williams just read Dr. Nancy Snyderman's tepid, vague mea culpa in which she never takes personal responsibility for violating the quarantine after being exposed to the Ebola virus.

As TMZ reported ... Snyderman and 2 members of her crew -- all under quarantine -- made a food run to Peasant Grill near Princeton University. Sources say New Jersey health officials investigated and concluded based on witness accounts that Snyderman was in the car while a crew member got the grub.

Williams just read Snyderman's statement on "NBC Nightly News," in which she says, "While under voluntary quarantine guidelines, which called for our team to avoid public contact for 21 days, members of our group violated those guidelines and understand that our quarantine is now mandatory until 21 days have passed. We remain healthy and our temperatures are normal."

Feinstein: Obama ‘Too Cautious’ On ISIS

Senate Intelligence Committee chair Diane Feinstein called President Barack Obama “too cautious” in his response to the ultra-violent jihadists in ISIS, adding he was “wrong” to call them a jayvee team back in January.

“They have been on the march now for months, if not years,” (Andrea) Mitchell noted. “So why does the president still say we don’t have a strategy yet? Doesn’t that project weakness from the White House?”

“Well, I mean, I know what you want me to say, But I’m not going to say it in that sense,” Feinstein replied. “I think I’ve learned one thing about this president, and that is he’s very cautious. Maybe, in this instance, too cautious.”

NBC's Most Recent Obama Job Performance Poll Was So Bad, They Straight Up Ignored It

NBC: Let's take a poll.. NOPE, can't report these results!! - NEWSBUSTERS.ORG

On Tuesday, August 5, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found that President Obama’s popularity reached its lowest point since he first took office in 2009. Overall, 54 percent of Americans disapprove of the job the president is doing compared to just 40 percent who approve....

The NBC News/WSJ poll also found that a strong majority of Americans, 60 percent, disapprove of President Obama's handling of foreign policy with only 36 percent approving. The same poll also found that 33 percent of Americans have very negative feelings towards Obama, tying a record high from December of 2013.

Rather than cover its own polling, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams spent 40 seconds promoting a video of a Norwegian mom trying to get her 2-year old son to go to bed on a hot summer night....

Clintons lecturing you about 'income inequality?

It Looks Like Chelsea Clinton Made $26,724 For Each Minute She Appeared On NBC - Business Insider

On Friday morning, Politico published on the previously unknown and "closely held" details of former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton's contract with NBC News. According to the story, Clinton was given an annual salary of $600,000 when she joined NBC News as a "special correspondent" in November 2011. Based on these figures, Clinton has earned about $26,724 for each minute she subsequently appeared on air.

NBC News declined to confirm Politico's report about Clinton's salary. A spokesperson for the news outlet instead said they, "don’t comment on details of existing contracts." Politico also said Clinton's contract "was up for renewal or nonrenewal this year" and she was placed on the payroll on a month-to-month basis to allow her to cut ties with the network if her mother, Hillary Clinton, launches her long rumored presidential bid in 2016.

Assuming Politico's reporting is correct and that Clinton is still earning at the same rate after moving to month-to-month payment, she has earned about $1.55 million from NBC News....

Clinton's 14 past appearances identified by Business Insider included news segments where she interviewed the Geico gecko and feel-good "Making a Difference" pieces like one on foster grandparents and another on a program to provide therapy dogs to soldiers. She was also interviewed by other NBC reporters about her charity work and role in President Barack Obama's inauguration. In total, Clinton's segments from the past 2 years and seven months lasted just shy of 58 minutes.
