Ground game...

For Midterms, Betting on Feet and Good Apps - New York Times

The foot soldiers in the battle for control of the Senate come well armed. With data-infused smartphones and tablets in hand, they have an unprecedented amount of information about the potential voters they are trying to persuade and more money than ever in a midterm election to do it.

...With the political tide against them, Democrats’ last chance to hold their Senate majority comes down to a vigorous get-out-the-vote effort. But the fight has changed. Republicans, outflanked by a superior Democratic turnout operation in the past two presidential elections, have been spending tens of millions of dollars to improve data collection to achieve a rough parity....

Romney/Ryan Reno!

California volunteers are mobilizing to walk precincts in the Reno area. Last weekend, the Bay Area sent volunteers who reached out to 20,000 voters on Saturday and Sunday.

Buses leave early in the morning on Saturday from locations in Pleasanton and Sacramento. The campaign will cover your lunch, dinner, and lodging at one of the finer hotels in downtown Reno. There are plenty of folks participating in these activities who are trained through the Romney campaign. It's a lot of fun!

David Pegos is thecontact for Team Nevada. Contact him at 916-425-9598.

Can't do all 4 days? Join the weekend fun!

There is also a weekend only option. Contact David and he’ll fill you in on the details.

If You’re Thinking of Volunteering, Do It

Locally: we're walking precincts Saturday, Nov. 3. Meet at the Humboldt GOP Office at 9:30 am. Call 442-2259, let us know if you can help. We also need poll watchers on election day - and teams to wave signs on election day. You can also make calls to voters in swing states ◼ (Super Easy Calls for Mitt Romney - call from home)

In Which I Prostrate Myself Before You And Beg Part 2 - BenK/Ace Of Spades

This is it. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday is all that stands between us and a second Obama term....

You can ...make calls ...If you don't want to leave your home, but you are willing to make calls then do it from home. Find out how here. ◼ (Super Easy Calls for Mitt Romney - call from home)

It is not enough to vote and donate in this election. You have to do something. It is close. Romney is either slightly up, tied, or slightly down in Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, Wisconsin, Ohio, New Hampshire, Michigan, Minnesota and Pennsylvania. If you live in one of those states you have no excuse to be sitting on your duff this weekend. Your time is the most valuable asset you can offer for the campaign.

If you are in any of those state and can volunteer to poll watch, then please click the link in the sidebar and volunteer to poll watch. This is especially true if you are in a large county. If you are not in a swing state, they may not call you back. All of their efforts are focused on the close races.

They need people to watch polls to help prevent fraud. If you live in Cleveland, Las Vegas, Denver, Boulder, etc, then you need to poll watch to help prevent fraud. Those living in Republican leaning counties need to poll watch and work strike list to help turnout the vote.

We're winning with independents, but there are far more registered Democrats than Republicans. We're at a natural disadvantage because we are fewer in number. We have to outwork them if we want to win.

Please, do something to help.

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Over the next 12 days, we need YOUR help to get out the vote in our battleground states. There are two ways you can help us win on November 6th:

◼ Volunteer at your local victory center or GOP office (Call 442-2259, We need you!)

◼ Make phone calls from home via the SVC into key battleground states

Every phone call and door knock matters - that is why your help is needed over the next two weeks. It only takes a few minutes to make a difference.

Let's get this done!

DOOM ANTIDOTE: Today’s your last chance to join the Romney Election Day Task Force and be part of the historic defeat of Obama and the Left!

Join America's Comeback Team and beat the Left at GOTV ground game for the first time in history - Kevin Dujan/Hillbuzz

Today is your very last chance to join the Romney Election Day Task force and become part of the historic defeat of Obama and the Left in a very big and important way. ◼ You can apply to the task force HERE… and in a day or so you will be contacted by the Romney campaign and assigned a role in the GOTV (Get Out the Vote) efforts for Election Day.

Why this matters and is actually so groundbreaking:

There are many cliches we hear repeated over and over and OVER again by the Ministry of Truth that is the national media (Minitru, for short) every election…and the most irritating one has long been that “Democrats have an impressive ground game and GOTV efforts”. For years, I’d hear that and my blood would boil because I’d think “What the heck is wrong with Republicans that they can’t get their stupid act together and do this better than the cat-herders of the Left?”. Well, apparently it took an accomplished and proven manager like Mitt Romney to get the GOP in gear because they are CRUSHING the Left on ground game this year.

...Mitt Romney really proved to us that he deserved to be the nominee this year because man alive what his campaign is pulling off here is INCREDIBLE. This is the most organized and well-run campaign EVER. They’ve finally made it easy for people to help in ways suited to them FROM HOME…and this Election Day Task Force identifies people’s strengths instantly and then finds the best way to utilize everyone. If you are in a state that’s competitive, then you might be assigned to work a polling place using your iPhone app to send real time info to the Romney campaign (including reporting any funny business you see Democrats engaged in). If you’re not in a swing state or a must-win state, you could be assigned to make calls to get people to the polls. I think those who are willing to drive people to vote can hook up with Romney campaign offices through this Task Force as well…and there are things to do even if you can’t spare the entire day on November 6th. Whatever time you have to give, and whatever strengths and talent YOU bring to the table, the Romney campaign can use YOU for GOTV efforts.

Just think about the magnitude of this....

This is it. You've been complaining about Obama for four years. You've been living with/through Obama's policies for four years. What are you going to do about it? Sit at home... or go out and make a difference on election day?

From Ace Of Spades - @BenK84 REPORTS: So the Romney campaign got in touch with me after I volunteered using the election day task force link in the sidebar. They sent me an online training course that took 10 minutes.

Essentially, they are asking for volunteers to work striker lists in heavily Republican areas. You can can volunteer to to work morning, afternoon/evening or all day. I will be working in the morning.

If you have a smart phone or IPad, they will be providing you with an election day app. It is essentially an electronic version of a striker list. You will sit in a polling place and mark voters off the list as they come in. That information will go directly to the Romney central command in your state. People will be working the phones and calling the Republican voters who have not showed up to the polls.

There are two other aspects to the app. One to report trouble, foul play, or voting problems. The other to give them anecdotal updates. For example, if a poll worker says this is the highest turnout they've seen in ten years, then you text that back to the Romney command center. All of this helps them focus their efforts where it is needed.

If you don't have a smart phone or IPad, they will give you paper strike lists and a phone number to call in your reports at designated times.

The Romney campaign really has their act together. This is the best I've ever seen from a Republican candidate. All they need now are volunteers. Have you volunteered? If you live in a dark blue state they might give you a job making phone calls.

This is it. You've been complaining about Obama for four years. You've been living with/through Obama's policies for four years. What are you going to do about it? Sit at home and comment on a right leaning website or go out and make a difference on election day?

CFRW: POLL WATCHING!

Hello Federated Women,

Below is a list of the counties with the contact person responsible for the Election Integrity Project in their county. We know that the Democrats will stop at nothing to win on November 6 so it is so important we have Poll Watchers at as many precinct voting locations as possible. This is something Federated women can do the best!

Please check your county and contact the person listed. If your county is not listed, unfortunately, that means there is not someone in that county helping to train volunteers. If that happens, check out the closest county to you and contact them for training schedules! I attended a training session on Saturday and it was very interesting and so informative. You are given the tools you need and the information you need to help correct a problem before it happens. There will also be a hot line you will be able to call if you see a problem! I will be a Poll Watcher on November 6 in Alameda County.

Please think about volunteering for this very important task! We are only 3 weeks away from the most critical election of our life time and there is still time to get training and make a difference on November 6. We don't want to wake up on November 7 and say “if only I had tried to do more!"

Thank you for all you do,

Get Out the Vote in the Last 25 Days Before the Election

In the final stretch before election day, there are Get Out the Vote initiatives that are easy to get involved in. The NFRW has made GOTV post cards available on our website that are easy to print out and send to your neighbors. Sending these out reminds people to vote Republican on November 6. You can put your club name in the box on the bottom left corner so the recipients can know to contact your club if they would like more information. (You need your NFRW password to sign in)

If you don't have time to visit your local Romney headquarters to participate in phone banking, the Romney campaign has launched a program that allows people to make phone calls from home, from their own phones. To set up an account to make phone calls, go to the Romney website's ◼ call from home page where you will be prompted to form a username and password. You will then be taken to your account page where you can watch a tutorial on how to use the phone from home system, and then click on the "begin calling" tab. You will enter the number of the phone you are using, which will not be shared on the caller ID of the person you are calling. One at a time, you will be given a voter name and number to call, as well as scripts for a live pickup or a voice mail. You can either dial the number yourself or click "call now" for the website to connect the call on your phone. To read a thorough description of this process, ◼ click here.

In the final weeks before the November election, it is crucial to motivate people to vote. According to The Kitchen Cabinet data, 18% of people who think they are registered to vote are not. Registration deadlines vary by state, and some deadlines are fast approaching. You can check your registration status and the status of an eligible voter you know here. If you know of someone who is eligible to vote and is not registered, you are given the option of sending them an email to encourage their registration. Check out everything you need to know about voting in your state, including registration deadlines here. Every vote counts!

NFRW Joins With the Palladian View for Victory in November

Palladian View is mobilizing a team of 100 Republican women from around the country to go door-to-door getting out the vote for Romney-Ryan and the Republican ticket in three battleground states: North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia.
Travel to NC: October 3, Block Walking: October 4-6
Travel to FL: October 17, Block Walking: October 18-23

41 MILLION TEA PARTY SUPPORTERS SET TO VOTE

The Tea Party is regularly ridiculed and declared "dead" by the mainstream press and their elitist allies in Washington and Hollywood. Not surprisingly, when Tea Partiers show up and rally by the thousands, they get all but ignored, while 30 Occupy Wall Street crazies in masks will always get wall-to-wall coverage and admiration. - Dustin Hawkins/Breitbart

TV shows and movies take cheap shots at Tea Party conservatives, often linking them to murder-of-the-week cases on insipid crime procedurals or dismissing them as “birthers.” But a new Associated Press poll shows tea party supporters may have the last laugh in November.

The AP/GFK poll shows that 31% of likely voters consider themselves Tea Party supporters. With 131 million votes cast in the 2008 elections, that translates into an incredible voting bloc of 41 million Tea Party supporters waiting to cast ballots.

These voters have already made their voices heard in Wisconsin earlier this year, as well as in Republican primaries in Texas and Nebraska.

That 31% of likely voters figure is greater than the 19% who described themselves as either strongly or somewhat liberal. Surprisingly, liberals have escaped media characterization as being a small, fringe-like group with little power or influence. At 19% of likely voters, self-described liberals would have a turnout of 25 million voters, some 16 million fewer voters than the Tea Party.

Kevin Hoover: Public Involvement, So Crucial And So Stupidly Disregarded

Arcata Eye Editorial

There’s something not happening here. What it is ain’t exactly clear. That is, if it’s anything at all.

As you know from the “Then and Now” series of photos in the Eye’s pages, Arcata is always changing in ways large and small, blatant and subtle, but also visual and invisible.

Over the last several years, we’ve had a fall-off in opinion submissions at the paper. We used to have far more letters to the editor than we could fit into two or even three “Opinion” pages. These days, we can easily get by with one, and some weeks there aren’t even any letters to the editor other than cranks and identity-theft sexpots. Maybe we’re satisfying our expressive needs on Facebook, saying “LOL!!!!!!!!” to pics of kittens in hampers, or anonymously calling people Nazis on blogs, I don’t know.

Further, we, as a town, didn’t manage to generate any ballot choices for City Council other than the three incumbents and any possible write-ins (Valerie Rose-Campbell is trying, but even if she succeeds, she’ll be at a structural disadvantage).... More, on public involvement, City Council, and the General Plan process at the link
