Blistering: This is how Tennessee and Texas responded to California's outrageous "travel ban."



Single-party dominance has made California a little crazy.... There are now eight states on California’s travel ban list: Alabama, Kentucky, South Dakota, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kansas, and North Carolina....

Tennessee lawmakers wrote a blistering response to California.



The message mockingly noted appreciation that “California will not be sending its economic development teams to Tennessee to recruit our businesses, but we can still send our teams to recruit their businesses.”

Texas lawmakers also lambasted the travel restrictions.

“California might be able to stop their state employees, but they can’t stop all the businesses that are fleeing over taxation and regulation, and relocating to Texas,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s press secretary, John Wittman, said.

California was among the many states that joined a lawsuit against President Donald Trump’s revised travel restriction on six countries labeled “countries of concern” by Congress and the Obama administration.

The list included Sudan, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen—all of which have been deemed terrorist hotbeds.

It would be safe to assume that those countries are not in line with the LGBT agenda. Yet, California seemingly finds red states to be more problematic than terror states.

California’s cultural secession is enormously dangerous to the future of the country and is a prime example of the increasing intolerance of modern progressivism....

The Real Calexit: Californians leaving for lower-cost locales



Activists agitating for California to separate from the United States better start considering the border wall they’ll need to build if successful — to keep their residents in.

An analysis of Census Bureau data by the Sacramento Bee shows that between 2005 and 2015 800,000 working-class Californians on net left for other states. Twenty percent of this net working-class outflow — 156,000 — went to one state in particular: Texas. Meanwhile, new data from the Census Bureau show that six of the 10 fastest-growing counties in the United States are in Texas or Utah; none are in California.

What’s driving this exodus? For decades California has championed policies that supposedly make it a working-class Mecca. For instance, its forthcoming $15 minimum wage — or $30,000 a year full-time — will put even starting employees roughly at the U.S. median personal income level. Texas, on the other hand, does not have the supposedly helpful social programs of California, and its minimum wage is less than half California’s coming standard.

And yet employees are happily leaving for Texas — not to mention Utah and Nevada — because they’d rather have the economic opportunity and affordable cost of living they can’t find in California. The reality is that California’s dramatic minimum wage increase to $15 as well as other workplace regulations are forcing some small businesses and their employees to states like Texas. In these states, their business model is encouraged and their employment is welcomed.

For example, Competitive Edge, a communications firm in San Diego, moved its entire call center operations consisting of 75 jobs to El Paso Texas last year as a result of California’s minimum wage costs. “My employees who will move over there will get a 50 percent pay raise in a sense, because cost of living is lower there,” said Chief Executive John Nienstedt.

President Trump's DOJ is shutting down another of the Obama DOJ priorities. Holder and Lynch had cracked down on any states attempting to fight voter fraud. The Sessions DOJ has a very different agenda.

The right tone.

DONALD J. TRUMP STATEMENT

Last night’s horrific execution-style shootings of 12 Dallas law enforcement officers – five of whom were killed and seven wounded - is an attack on our country. It is a coordinated, premeditated assault on the men and women who keep us safe.

We must restore law and order. We must restore the confidence of our people to be safe and secure in their homes and on the street.

The senseless, tragic deaths of two people in Louisiana and Minnesota reminds us how much more needs to be done.

This morning I offer my thoughts and prayers for all of the victims’ families, and we pray for our brave police officers and first responders who risk their lives to protect us every single day.

Our nation has become too divided. Too many Americans feel like they’ve lost hope. Crime is harming too many citizens. Racial tensions have gotten worse, not better. This isn’t the American Dream we all want for our children.

This is a time, perhaps more than ever, for strong leadership, love and compassion. We will pull through these tragedies.

Did the Supreme Court Make the Right Decision in the Abortion Case?



In 2013, following the exposure of abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s house of horrors in Philadelphia (Gosnell is currently serving a life sentence for the first-degree murder of three infants), the Texas legislature passed, and governor Rick Perry signed, a bill that required abortionists to have admitting privileges to a hospital not more than 30 miles away and abortion clinics to meet the minimum health and safety standards that obtain for “ambulatory surgical centers.” That is no longer the case.

As More High-Paying Jobs Leave California, State's Press Is Unconcerned



Another major employer has decided to join the long list of companies moving jobs from California to more business-friendly states.

This time, it's $12 billion titan Jacobs Engineering, which is moving its "corporate operations," almost definitely meaning its headquarters, from Pasadena to Dallas, Texas. Press reaction, especially outside of business-oriented outlets, has ranged from nonexistent to muted to, in the case of the Los Angeles Times, a bit snarky.

One key point here is that the move appears to have taken California's governments completely by surprise...
