Columnist: It Should Be Illegal to Be a Stay-at-Home-Mom with School-age Kids. Yes — she is seriously suggesting this.



A columnist for the Daily Telegraph wrote a piece actually suggesting that Australia make it illegal to be a stay-at-home parent once your kids are old enough to go to school.

“Rather than wail about the supposed liberation in a woman’s right to choose to shun paid employment, we should make it a legal requirement that all parents of children of school-age or older are gainfully employed,” Sarrah Le Marquand writes in a column titled “It should be illegal to be a stay-at-home mum.”...

“Only when the tiresome and completely unfounded claim that ‘feminism is about choice’ is dead and buried (it’s not about choice, it’s about equality) will we consign restrictive gender stereotypes to history,” she writes.... what exactly would Marquand like to see done to the women who tried to defy this policy? Fine them? Imprison them? If they won’t be away from their families by going to work, then they will just have to be away from their families by going to prison! ...

The 'Factual Feminist' debunks stats about sexual assault and the wage gap



...According to her research, 78% of people lost to suicide are male, 93% of federal inmates are male, men receive 63% longer prison sentences for the same crime and about 60% of homeless individuals are male.

She also notes that men are more likely to serve in dangerous active duty combat, and that they live five years less than women, on average.

“Men have to be the only oppressor class in history who are less educated, more victimized and have shorter lives than those they oppress,” she claims.

Hoff Sommers takes her analysis of gender issues to college campuses. She has given speeches at Wellesley, Bucknell, Georgetown and dozens of other schools across the nation.

No stranger to controversy, her lectures often explicitly condemn campus feminism, which she sees as having a “cult-like effect on certain students.”

Feminism “draws them in with false claims about how oppressed nearly everyone is in the ‘capitalist, heteronormative, patriarchy,’” she said. “Some become angry and rancorous and have no compunction about bullying other students.”

Her views are so controversial that students often protest her lectures — even before they have heard her speak.

When students at California State-Los Angeles discovered that Hoff Sommers was coming to campus last semester, some were not happy.

Two students were caught on film tearing down fliers for the event. “This is my freedom of speech,” said one student, who alleged that the fliers were “offensive.” ...

A world where Angela Merkel feels compelled to accept millions of migrants for Europe even to the detriment of Germany and where president Obama feels he can sign major international treaties with Iran without reference to Congress is an unstable world locked in a game that is no longer transparent. Who do politicians work for? It creates a world of dubious loyalties and unpredictable coalitions. If the obvious conflict of interest has been ignored by the politicians, it has not been lost on the voters. Many plainly sense what economists call an principal-agent problem, which may be the source of the current voter revolt....

Obama's reluctance to recognize a threat to his country represents an unnatural state of affairs. The efficient cause of the current crisis lay in breaking the former chain of political accountability without replacing it with another. If there is any truth to Anne Applebaum's belief that "we are two or three bad elections away from the end of NATO, the end of the European Union and maybe the end of the liberal world order as we know it," it must be that the fuse was lit before Trump; perhaps in 2008 or earlier....

Over years, New Hampshire earned its reputation for upending conventional wisdom, but the 2016 campaign is also leaving another legacy. When Madeleine Albright and Gloria Steinem tried to shame and bully young women into supporting Hillary Clinton, they inadvertently revealed a dirty secret of the left’s fixation on gender, race and ethnicity.

They demonstrated that hiding behind the gauzy appeals to make history is a willingness to use brass knuckles to achieve conformity. In their warped vision, biology trumps individuality, and those who don’t agree are traitors to their gender....

The bullying smears are backfiring, but before the incidents give way to new outrages borne of Clinton Entitlement Syndrome, some context is useful.

For one thing, neither Albright nor Steinem was thinking of Carly Fiorina or any female candidate other than Clinton when they insisted on conformity. So their demands amount to a selective use of gender as a partisan club, which ghettoizes female voters.

For another, Hillary’s enforcers are not alone in dipping into the gutter, with smears also leveled at Republican candidates who don’t fit a racial mold.

Some liberals have called Dr. Ben Carson, a distinguished surgeon running for president, an “Uncle Tom” for being a conservative, as if all black Americans must think and vote the same way.

Cuban-American senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are routinely accused of running from their Latin roots because they are Republicans who oppose illegal immigration. Again, the suffocating implication is that being an authentic Latino means being a liberal Democrat supporting open borders.

The pattern is not new, yet it is new that it no longer works. The 2016 race is turning politics upside down, and Albright and Steinem are among the establishment gatekeepers whose power is ebbing. Acting like bitter reactionaries, they resort to intimidation.

 Stacy McCain's ensemble here is a very fascinating read on the Feminist movement, starting from its radical beginnings of the 1960's and details how it has evolved to its more extremist contemporary views. In it, you can clearly understand the purposely false narrative that attempts to lure young naive women today: "Equality, fairness, health rights"; and he reveals the dark secret that it is a marxist movement intent on destroying western civilization under the guise that women are slaves to a "patriarchy" in all aspects of women's lives, most prominently through sex.

 People may laugh at this and think he's crazy; and while McCain is admittedly "crazy", you need that kind of crazy to evaluate demented, psychotic crazy and lunacy for what it is. In fact, with his staunch Christian Conservative values juxtaposed against their teachings, he shows with an "in your face" assault to uncover the truth that allows us to see the real picture of this evil movement. And to make matters worse, he demonstrates convincingly how this movement is hijacking the American education system, attempting to make converts out of young, impressionable women seeking higher education.

 This should be a warning to families across America to teach their young girls the truth of Feminist movement. Don't say you weren't warned.

Last night’s reaction to “Fifty Shades of Grey” from the female, college-aged crowd I sat through this preordained S&M blockbuster with, makes for a better review than anything a middle-aged male fuddy-duddy like myself could conjure. This particular packed house loved the first 40 minutes (which are pretty good). They giggled and “hell yessss’d” the wish fulfillment that comes with a “Pretty Woman”-style romance that sees a mousey nobody whisked into the fairytale world of the super rich by an impossibly-handsome Prince Charming.

During the second 40 minutes, the crowd was less enthusiastic and a lot less giggly. The vibe turned unsure. There was a struggle, it seemed, to be morally okay with what we were being asked to buy into — the story of an emotionally needy heroine entering into serious negotiations with Prince Charming, who after winning her heart, has now asked her to sign a contract agreeing to the physical abuse that will come with being his sex slave.

While she contemplates allowing him to bind, whip, spank, and shove his fist up her ass, he’s willing to consider taking her out to dinner once a week.

During the last 40 minutes, the atmosphere turned cold. Plain boredom from the story petering out and watching a promising young woman volunteer to be treated like a piece of meat will do that, as will tedious sex scenes less erotic than a “Hogan’s Heroes” rerun.

For decades, women have ceaselessly complained about a lack of access to the levers of Hollywood power. Well, now they have grabbed hold. “Fifty Shades” is a woman’s story directed by a woman based on a screenplay by a woman which is itself based on a woman’s best-selling blockbuster.

Yesterday, mankind achieved something seriously amazing: we landed a space probe on a comet millions of miles away from Earth. Unfortunately for the scientists involved in this momentous accomplishment, modern day “feminists” exist.

One of the scientists was wearing a shirt covered in sketches of of scantily clad women. Not actual photos of women, but sketched images of pin ups in skivvies. So this chick from The Atlantic does what “feminists” do when encountering the inane: she lost her damn mind. Naturally, this scientist’s wardrobe selection means women are not welcome to participate in scientific oriented fields…
◼ Gosh! How wickedly funny it was of a group of internet pranksters to whip up confected outrage over Dr Matt Taylor's harmless, if rather loud, shirt.
That's the Matt Taylor who just landed a spacecraft on a comet, by the way, in perhaps one of the most remarkable scientific achievements of the decade.

...Christina Hoff Sommers, a feminist academic at the American Enterprise Institute, expresses the problem succinctly: "Feminist bloggers claimed that his shirt would make women feel unwelcome in [science, technology, engineering and maths]. What nonsense. No woman with a serious interest in astronomy would be deterred because she saw a tattooed guy in a risqué shirt."

"Feminism used to be about freedom and happiness. Lately it has entered an Orwellian Junior Anti-Sex League phase. Even the most mild sexual joke, song, or sexy lady T-shirt arouses the Twitter outrage warriors. Women are more than welcome in science and technology, but I doubt that most scientists—male or female—welcome the arrival of these chronically-offended, humourless gender warriors."

Feminism has a serious, perhaps even terminal, public relations problem at the moment. Most women don't want anything to do with it, because they know that the third-wave, intersectional brand of feminism currently in vogue is inextricable from angry, lesbianic man-hating.

These days, the one thing guaranteed to send a man running, and ensure you stay alone forever, getting porky and hoarding stray cats while learning to knit jumpers for grandchildren you'll never have, is announcing that you're a "feminist". At least, that's the popular perception and it's why so few women anywhere in public life want to be associated with that toxic label.
