TED CRUZ: OBAMA SHOULD “HEAR PLEAS FROM UNTOLD NUMBER OF AMERICANS LOSING JOBS, WAGES, AND HEALTHCARE”

Today President Obama will draw the media’s attention to a handful of persons who have applied for Obamacare while ignoring the untold number of Americans who are losing the plans they liked because of Obamacare.

Yesterday, Kaiser Health joined numerous other news outlets by confirming a new victim of Obamacare: Americans who are receiving cancellation notices from their insurers due to the Affordable Act.

“Health plans are sending hundreds of thousands of cancellation letters to people who buy their own coverage, frustrating some consumers who want to keep what they have and forcing others to buy more costly policies,” Kaiser Health News reported. “The main reason insurers offer is that the policies fall short of what the Affordable Care Act requires starting Jan. 1. Most are ending policies sold after the law passed in March 2010. At least a few are cancelling plans sold to people with pre-existing medical conditions.”

President Obama is sure to promise Americans that with more time, taxpayer money, and patience the law will perform better. Its failings, however, are not limited to its website or its rollout.

We already know Obamacare can’t live up to its promises. President Obama promised Americans that their premiums would go down, taxes would stay low, millions of jobs would be created, and if they liked their healthcare plans, they could keep them. Instead, premiums are rising, taxes are higher, the economy is sputtering, and people are losing their plans.

Obamacare is the nation’s biggest job killer and stands in the way of our country’s economic growth and prosperity. It should be defunded and repealed. President Obama should hear the pleas from the untold number of Americans who are losing their jobs, wages, and healthcare plans, and Congress should act immediately to st
op Obamacare from inflicting any more damage on the country on our hard-working citizens.

Highlighting a few beneficiaries while ignoring the larger number of people with complaints – or insulting the latter as “greedy” and telling them to shut up – is the old socialist game, still running after a century of agonizing failure....

There is still not a shred of honesty or accountability to be found in the Administration’s handling of the Affordable Care Act. The launch disaster directly refutes one of the central premises of the entire scheme: the belief that government can more efficiently manage health care than private industry. Just for starters, it doesn’t take days of effort to get an insurance quote from private industry, and they don’t give you a phony price that has to be revised later.

The whole thing was a fraud from Day One.

Update: Obama marched thirteen human props on stage to serve as a backdrop for his press conference today. It turns out only three of them have actually registered on the ObamaCare exchanges. He’s got to be insanely desperate to take the risk of such an “optics” misfire.

Update: If this is going to boil down to a tug-of-war between some number of people who feel satisfied with ObamaCare, and a large number of people angry about losing their insurance – a conflict Obama’s press conference and use of human props sets the stage for – well, what could be more “divisive” than that? We’re always told to recoil from divisive politics, but the ObamaCare debacle is literally setting Americans at each others’ throats.
