FACEBOOK, AMAZON, GOOGLE AND TWITTER ALL WORK WITH LEFT-WING HATE-GROUP

...Amazon grants the SPLC that power “because we don’t want to be biased whatsoever,” said the spokeswoman, who could not say whether Amazon considers the SPLC to be unbiased.

The Smile program allows customers to identify a charity to receive 0.5 percent of the proceeds from their purchases on Amazon. Customers have given more than $8 million to charities through the program since 2013, according to Amazon.

Only one participant in the program, the SPLC, gets to determine which other groups are allowed to join it.

Christian legal groups like the Alliance Defending Freedom — which recently successfully represented a Christian baker at the Supreme Court — are barred from the Amazon Smile program, while openly anti-Semitic groups remain, TheDCNF found in May.

One month later, the anti-Semitic groups — but not the Alliance Defending Freedom — are still able to participate in the program....

Pulse nightclub shooting survivors sue Google, Facebook, Twitter over ‘material support’ to ISIS

...In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in Orlando’s federal courthouse, 16 victims of the June 12, 2016 shooting -- the second deadliest in American history -- claim that the three tech giants were responsible for letting ISIS disseminate propaganda on their platforms, thus providing “material support” to the terror group, in violation of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA).

Such support, the suit alleges, let gunman Omar Mateen carry out his attack, which left 49 people dead and another 58 injured, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Mateen was killed in a shootout with responding police officers....

How to download your data from Google, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat

Facebook's Cambridge Analytica scandal has raised awareness of the data it gathers on its users, and what's done with it.

Of course, Facebook is not alone. All social networks that turn their users' activity into money retain lots of information - some of it posted by those users, others generated by behavior.

And many give you the opportunity to download and view it. As I wrote last week, Facebook has a data-download feature. So do many of the major online services, including Google, Twitter, LinkedIn and Snapchat.

Want to see what these networks have on you? Here's a guide to downloading your data from them.

The Censorship Of Conservatives On The Internet Is Approaching Critical Levels

Wednesday, January 10, 2018

Google managers kept blacklists of conservative employees — and one manager even considered holding 'trials', alleges a new lawsuit

Employees at Google who express "conservative viewpoints in politically-charged debates" may find themselves blacklisted by managers at the company, alleges an explosive new lawsuit.

And by blacklisted, that means their names may appear on actual lists, the suit contends.

Google employees who identify as conservative say they have complained to HR and senior management about the blacklists.

These allegations are part of a lawsuit filed on behalf of fired Google engineer James Damore that seeks to represent white males and conservatives who feel like they've been the target of discrimination.

"Please follow protocols based on the prescribed actions for this type of guest"

On August 26, 2016, Curtis Yarvin, a well-known conservative blogger who has reportedly advised Steve bannon, Peter Thierl, and other members of the Trump administration, visited the Google office to have lunch with an employee. This triggered a silent alarm, alerting security personnel to escort him off the premises.

The growth in online censorship by tech titans Facebook, Twitter, and Google's search and YouTube platform is one of the most under-reported stories of the past two years.

...In the latest disturbing development, Twitter, which has been increasingly heavy-handed in censoring center-right content, content providers, and everyday users since last year's general election campaign, has announced that it will unilaterally remove "blue-check" (i.e., "verified") status from groups and users who in its view have violated its Terms of Service — even for offline behavior it considers unacceptable....

Until now, even with the Milo dustup, there hasn't been a person on earth who believed that Twitter's blue check mark was anything more than a form of identity verification. Twitter, for no good reason and entirely on its own, has chosen to make "blue check" status a "badge of approval," and has appointed itself the sole arbiter of who is "approved" and who isn't.

That's an open invitation to a tidal wave of political pressure, false tattle-taling, and free speech marginalization. Expect SJWs to harass Twitter and its CEO Jack Dorsey relentlessly over anyone and everyone it doesn't like who has blue-check status — up to and including President Donald Trump. In fact, the campaign against Trump's blue check has already begun.

Google Values Diversity (Just Not of Thought)

On August 7, 2017, a Google employee wrote an internal memo titled Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber that quickly circulated throughout the company. Soon after, journalists got ahold of the contents of the document, and controversy broke out. (In the link above) is the original memo reproduced as verbatim as possible.

War on Comments: Google Built an A.I. to Censor the Web, And the Media Is Celebrating

“What if technology could help improve conversations online?”

That’s the lowkey Orwellian message that greets visitors to the website of Perspective, Google’s new AI system for detecting (and potentially deleting, hiding, or burying) “toxic” comments on the web.

Perspective is still in early days of development, but in the future, you may have to adjust your speech in order to satisfy the lofty standards of Google. Otherwise, the company’s faceless AI might just have to “improve” you. Where’s Sarah Connor when you need her?

The good news is that, for now at least, Perspective is about as effective as C-3PO with a lisp. Software engineer and columnist David Auerbach has found the program woefully inept at sorting “toxic” comments from ordinary ones. Because the AI currently focuses on words rather than meanings, inoffensive comments like, “Rape is a horrible crime,” or, “few Muslims are a terrorist threat,” were assigned “toxicity” ratings of over 75 percent....

Oracle Funds Anti-Google Effort that Outs Hillary, Obama

The Oracle Corporation is using its deep financial resources to fund the “Google Transparency Project,” which has set up headquarters in Washington, D.C. with a mission to “out” Google’s dicey lobbying practices and expose crony relationships with President Obama and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

With Google demonstrating its political clout by essentially writing the “Net Neutrality” regulatory language, Oracle and others are stepping up funding for a Silicon Valley attack dog to level the playing field.

Silicon Valley has earned the nickname “Valley of the Democrats” from the TechCrunch blog because of its symbiotic business relationship with Washington. But as Breitbart News reported last year, Google’s $16,830,000 in lobbying expenditure dominated the $139.5 million spent by both the computer and Internet industries.

“The Internet is the greatest empowerment of citizens…in many years,”

Google Chairman Eric Schmidt: "The Internet Will Disappear" - Hollywood Reporter

...At the end of a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland where his comments were webcast, he was asked for his prediction on the future of the Web. “I will answer very simply that the Internet will disappear,” Schmidt said.

“There will be so many IP addresses…so many devices, sensors, things that you are wearing, things that you are interacting with that you won’t even sense it,” he explained. “It will be part of your presence all the time. Imagine you walk into a room, and the room is dynamic. And with your permission and all of that, you are interacting with the things going on in the room.”

...“You now see so many strong tech platforms coming, and you are seeing a reordering and a future reordering of dominance or leaders or whatever term you want to use because of the rise of the apps on the smartphone,” Schmidt said Thursday. “All bets are off at this point as to what the smartphone app infrastructure is going to look like” as a “whole new set” of players emerges to power smartphones, which are nothing but super-computers, the Google chairman argued. “I view that as a completely open market at this point.”

Leaked Emails Reveal MPAA Plans To Pay Elected Officials To Attack Google

Not surprisingly, Google has been a popular target for some state AGs. - Tech Dirt

...In the past, we've written about state Attorneys General from Nebraska and Oklahoma blaming Google for videos made by users, and about Texas' Attorney General going after Google for supposed antitrust violations (based on the same claims that the FTC later dropped entirely). But the state Attorney General with the biggest chip on his shoulder for Google has absolutely been Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood, who seemed to think that it was Google's fault that he could find counterfeit goods via search. A few months later, he was back blaming Google for infringement online as well.

This was no accident. What's come out of the Sony Pictures Leak is not just that the MPAA was buddying up to state Attorneys General, but that the MPAA was funding some of this activity and actively supporting the investigation. The leaked emails reveal that rather than seeing that NY Times article about corporate/AG corruption as a warning sign, the MPAA viewed it as a playbook. But not for preventing investigations but for encouraging and funding them. This appears to go way beyond that NY Times article. This isn't campaign donations or inviting AGs to speak at lavish events and paying for the travel. This is flat out paying AGs to investigate Google (even on issues unrelated to copyright infringement) and then promising to get extra press attention to those articles....
