Obama Asserts Fast and Furious Executive Privilege Claim for Holder's Wife...

Obama Visits Maryland; Democrat Drops 9 Points?

Things appear to be tightening in Maryland, where a poll leaked to The Daily Caller shows the gubernatorial race is “extremely close — only 2 points, 46 to 44, separate Democratic Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown and Republican small businessman Larry Hogan.”

One should always be cognizant of outliers — and it’s worth noting that this survey was commissioned by the Maryland Republican Party. It’s also true that polls conducted by Gonzales this cycle have tended to show the race tighter than others — but as the Washington Post noted, Gonzales “does not have a partisan track record.”

With those caveats out of the way, let’s assume for a minute this survey is accurate. This would represent a nine point swing from a week ago, when, according to the RealClearPolitics poll average, Hogan was down by 11 points.

How could this be possible? I mean, what has happened in the last week? For one thing, President Obama — not welcome on the trail in red states — campaigned for Brown in Maryland, where crowds began streaming out during his speech, leaving empty bleachers behind.

Could it be that President Obama is such a drag on Democrats that he even hurts them in … Maryland? That’s one possibility.

Valerie Jarrett Key Player in Fast and Furious Cover-Up After Holder Lied to Congress

President Obama’s trusted senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, was a key player in the effort to cover up that Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress about the Fast and Furious scandal, according to public records obtained by Judicial Watch. - JUDICIAL WATCH

The information is part of a Department of Justice (DOJ) “Vaughn index” detailing records about the gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious. JW had to sue the agency for the records after the Obama administration failed to provide them under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). A federal court ordered the DOJ to provide the records over the agency’s objections. Yesterday JW reported on the broad information in the records, including that Obama asserted executive privilege for Holder’s wife as part of the administration’s efforts to cover up the scandal....

This directly contradicted Holder’s May 3, 2011 testimony to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, during which he stated that he, “probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.” The October 4, 2011 date may also be significant because it came shortly after the August 30, 2011 resignation of U.S. Attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke and reassignment of acting ATF director Kenneth Melson to the position of “senior forensics advisor” at DOJ.

...Judicial Watch served a Freedom of Information Act request for the same documents that were requested by the House committee. When the Obama administration refused to produce them on the same privilege grounds, Judicial Watch sued. The court finally ordered DOJ to produce a “Vaughn index,” listing the documents being withheld and providing enough information about them to assess the grounds asserted. The administration tried to put that production off until after the election, but the court required that it be produced last week. I made some initial observations about the Vaughn index here, noting that emails between Eric Holder and his wife and mother had been withheld based on the “deliberative process” privilege....

Psssst, Here’s What We Do When We Win (Don’t Tell The Liberals)

Democrats are trying to rally their indolent base by painting a picture of a Republican-controlled Congress as the progressives’ worst nightmare. It’s important that we conservatives make that beautiful dream come true. - Kurt Schlichter/TOWNHALL @KurtSchlichteR

...Thom Tillis is going to beat Kate Hagan by talking about her staggering corruption. Joni Ernst is going to clock Bruce Braley by attacking his smug farmerphobia. And Corey Gardner is going to out-War on Women Mark Uterus by mocking the leering Democrat weirdo’s gyno obsession. Why would our candidates stop the fun and give their opponents ammo by talking about the next two years?

...But we conservatives, among ourselves, do need to discuss our game plan as Election Day approaches since it appears that the GOP establishment might actually not blow it like it usually does. Our agenda should be very simple.

We need to neuter Barack Obama while setting the conditions to defeat Hillary Clinton and keep the Congress in 2016.

That’s it. That’s got to be our agenda.

After all, there is only one real problem in America – progressivism. Left untreated, that political cancer will metastasize and kill our country. Destroying progressivism must be our sole goal – and we need to do it with a smile so we don’t scare the gutless moderates....

We need to be committed to defeating these people. Comprehensively. Completely. Permanently. Remember that our opponents are the same bunch of cryptofascists who recently voted to limit the First Amendment’s freedom of speech. We know how they feel about the freedom of religion and the right to keep and bear arms. The only Constitutional rights these people believe in are the ones that aren’t in the Constitution.

We need to take on popular causes that mix good policy with great politics.... KEEP READING

Stonewalled: Sharyl Attkisson's New Book

Stonewalled No More: Ex-CBS Reporter’s Tell-All Exposes Liberal Bias - Newsbusters

Sharyl Attkisson used to be an investigative journalist for CBS News, but now finds herself making headlines as the whistleblower who blew the lid off CBS's blatant bias toward the president and his administration.

From a recent book review by the New York Post’s Kyle Smith, we learn that in her new book Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama’s Washington, Attkisson exposes outright political corruption, and the media circus surrounding the Obama Administration; the constant praise and fawning over the president, the political bent on stories, and the decision to air “softer” news versus hard-hitting investigative reports that could potentially show the Obama Administration in bad light....

In her book, Attkisson describes how reporters are often turned into “casting agents.” “We need to find someone who will say . . .that a given policy is good or bad. We’re asked to create a reality that fits their New York image of what they believe.” She also gives this little tidbit of information: “One of her bosses had a rule that conservative analysts must always be labeled conservatives, but liberal analysts were simply “analysts"…And if a conservative analyst’s opinion really rubbed the supervisor the wrong way,” says Attkisson, “she might rewrite the script to label him a ‘right-wing’ analyst.”

Attkisson also discussed how CBS “suddenly” lost interest in her stories on the 2012 attacks on Benghazi. Unsurprisingly, the lack of enthusiasm from CBS on Benghazi coincided with the upcoming presidential election. Her stories went from being televised on national air – to being buried on the website. At one time, “Benghazi” meant a city in Libya, but now, “the administration, with the full cooperation of the media, has successfully turned 'Benghazi' into a word associated with nutters, like 'Roswell' or 'grassy knoll'….the truth is that most of the damaging information came from Obama administration insiders. From government documents. From sources who were outraged by their own government’s behavior and what they viewed as a coverup.” KEEP READING
