Not since 1860 have the Democrats so fanatically refused to accept the result of a free election. That year, their target was Lincoln. They smeared him. They went to war to defeat him. In the end, they assassinated him.

Now the target of the Democrats is President Trump and his supporters. The Left calls them racists, white supremacists and fascists. These charges are used to justify driving Trump from office and discrediting the right "by any means necessary."

But which is the party of the slave plantation? Which is the party that invented white supremacy? Which is the party that praised fascist dictators and shaped their genocidal policies and was in turn praised by them?

Moreover, which is the party of racism today? Is fascism now institutionally embodied on the right or on the left?

Through stunning historical recreations and a searching examination of fascism and white supremacy, Death of a Nation cuts through progressive big lies to expose hidden history and explosive truths.

Lincoln united his party and saved America from the Democrats for the first time. Can Trump—and we—come together and save America for the second time?

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: Hello! We are headed into spring: more rain, light rain, daylight savings time, bright yellow daffodils, vivid blue muscari, purple and creamy hellebores, apricot pink blueberry blooms… and our annual SPRING TEA on Thursday, April 20!

Your board members have made fine plans for your enjoyment. They are preparing items for a silent auction you won’t want to miss. They are donning their aprons and searching their cookbooks for the right recipe for sweet and savory morsels for your pleasure. They will prepare and set out a lovely array of appetizers to be sampled, maybe once, maybe twice, maybe more.

You can drink tea or coffee from an exquisite cup from an extensive and beautiful cup collection. You will have ample time to view and bid on our silent auction items. You can sit and visit at a comfortable table. You can circulate to meet and converse with those you know as well as get acquainted with new members and guests.

We hope you will don your best teatime attire and join us for a celebration of our members, new and renewing, potential and probable, plus each guest you may bring with you.

Hunter Cresswell/Times-Standard

“The book is quite interesting ... . It’s a very good overall picture of what life was like in the ’60s,” Peter Hannaford said of the new book he edited, “Washington Merry-Go-Round: The Drew Pearson Diaries, 1960-1969.”

“It really chronicles a very insider Washington perspective,” Eureka Books co-owner Scott Brown said. The store will host the event during Arts Alive! on Saturday from 6-9 p.m.

REPUBLICAN-OF-THE-YEAR DINNER

Invitations are in the mail. We’re honoring Frank Jäger for his years of service to the community, Sunday, May 3rd, 2015.

You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who has served this community in as many different capacities as Eureka Mayor Frank Jäger.

He's dedicated his entire life to public service, starting as Eureka's dogcatcher. He was a police officer for seventeen years, became a crime scene evidence technician, then a DA investigator. In 1992, he ran for City Council and won, serving two terms, before becoming County Coroner, a position he held for eleven years. He retired in 2008, and ran - successfully - for City Council again. In 2010, he was elected Mayor of Eureka....

Keynote Speaker: Shawn Steel:

Meet one of the most interesting - and most effective - Republicans in California.

As California Republican Party Chairman, he was a co-founder of the Recall Davis movement. Along with Ted Costa, of Peoples Advocate, they were responsible for organizing the historic recall campaign against Governor Davis. The success of the Recall paved the way for Arnold Schwarzenegger's election as governor. His was the first signature on the recall petition. Steel and Ted Costa served Governor Davis with the Notice of Recall Petition.

Party leaders questioned the strategy of recalling Gray Davis, fearing it was too risky. At the CRP convention in February 2003 Steel convinced an overwhelming majority to endorse the Recall, thus turning the tide for the recall campaign. Shawn Steel's leadership and conservative principles helped spearhead the recall of a sitting California Governor.

You can pay for tickets ◼ HERE.

For questions and information, please call Mary Dowd, (253) 229-3094, or call the Humboldt GOP Headquarters at (707) 442-2259.
