Video: New NCIS Info Reveals That Bergdahl Was a Man With a Plan

On the O’Reilly Factor, Monday night, Fox News contributor Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer divulged disturbing new information about Bowe Bergdahl’s activities in Afghanistan that led to his disappearance and explains why he was charged with “misbehavior toward the enemy.” - Nice Deb

...According to Shaffer, the 2009 NCIS investigation into Bergdahl’s activities, revealed that there is clear evidence that Bergdahl was “going over to the other side with a deliberate plan.”

Shaffer said two senior sources who were part of the investigation, told him that a forensic review of his computer showed that Bergdahl intended to travel to Uzbekistan.

“He was going to go off to Uzbekistan,” Shaffer told Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly. “He had made contact with local Afghans and wanted to be moved to Uzbekistan and then made contact with the Russians because he wanted to talk to Russian organized crime…”

Shaffer continued, “clearly he was not all there relating to what he was doing. I think we’re going to see more and more, as this report is made public that there were a number of disconcerting things within Bergdahl.”

PAT CADDELL, FMR. DEMOCRATIC POLLSTER: "I Have Never Seen A President Occupying Himself In His Own Fantasy World"

link - Real Clear Politics

The problem is with the word "is. Remember that? Most of these lawyers (presidents who have been attorneys) have never been in the real world but they're trying to develop things that I believe justify what is unjustifiable. To serve a president who I think is himself a lawyer, and as I said, occupying his own kind of fantasy world. And what scares me -- it bothers me, is because you've had guests on earlier, every one of them explaining why this is a mistake.

We have four-star generals and admirals saying why this is a mistake and I'm waiting for someone, particularly the Iranian things coming up -- as a Democrat I want someone, I don't care if it's Bill Clinton, I don't care if it's [Senator] Bob Menendez, somebody needs to go to the White House and tell the president what time of day it is.

Report: Bergdahl to Be Charged With Desertion, WH ‘Battling Behind Scenes’ to Stop Charges

Video: Army has charged Bergdahl with desertion, but … Update: NBC confirms charges - HotAir

Last night, retired Lt. Col. Tony Schaffer told Bill O’Reilly that the Army has charged Bergdahl with desertion, but that the White House — and specifically Ben Rhodes, the national-security adviser/speechwriter to Barack Obama — has pressured the Pentagon to delay the release of that news (via Jeff Dunetz):

Obama Paid Money to Al Qaeda for Bergdahl Release

In a letter to the Pentagon released Wednesday, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R., Calif.) said a payment was made to an Afghan intermediary early this year to help secure the May 31 release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was held for nearly five years by the Haqqani Network in Pakistan, which is classified as a terrorist organization. - Daniel Greenfield/Front Page

Pentagon officials have denied paying cash to secure the release of Sgt. Bergdahl, who was captured in Afghanistan in 2009. A senior defense official reiterated that denial when asked about Mr. Hunter’s letter.

According to Mr. Hunter, the intermediary took the money but disappeared and failed to secure Sgt. Bergdahl’s release. Mr. Hunter didn’t specify how much money was paid to the Afghan intermediary, and didn’t identify the sources of his information....

Obama has been on his high horse about the Europeans paying ransoms to ISIS and other Al Qaeda groups. He has a point. That money helped it become a major threat. But his position is going to be significantly undermined if it turns out that the US was paying ransoms.

GAO Report: Department Of Defense Violated The Law In Bergdahl-Guantanamo Prisoner Swap

The U.S. Government Accountability Office has found that the Department of Defense violated the law when it carried out the Obama Administration’s arranged swap of five Taliban detainees at Guantanamo Bay for the freedom of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. - Personal Liberty

In a ruling released today, GAO General Counsel Susan A. Poling confirmed that the DoD unlawfully spent nearly $1 million in funds to make the swap, because the appropriations measure that funds the department specifically requires at least 30 days’ notice to relevant Congressional committees before appropriated money can be used to transfer Guantanamo prisoners....

Not only did that move violate the DoD Appropriations Act of 2014; it also violated the Antideficiency Act, a law that (perhaps redundantly) states that it’s illegal to spend money that isn’t (legally) there. “We have consistently concluded that the use of appropriated funds for prohibited purposes violates the Antideficiency Act, because zero funds are available for the purpose,” the GAO explains in a footnote.

Book Publisher Afraid That Bergdahl Book Proposal Will Harm Obama - Daily Caller

(The) senior editor of Atria Books, which is a part of Simon and Schuster, what these soldiers have to say about Bergdahl isn’t as important as protecting Obama from criticism for swapping five Taliban leaders for Bergdahl.

“I’m not sure we can publish this book without the Right using it to their ends,” Sarah Durand wrote in an e-mail to one of the soldier’s agents, obtained by Yahoo! “[T]he Conservatives are all over Bergdahl and using it against Obama, and my concern is that this book will have to become a kind of ‘Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.’”

The Dense-Pack Theory of Obama Scandals Accelerates into Hyperdrive

In an article a year ago in the New York Post, Glenn Reynolds added up the IRS scandal alongside the Obama administration’s other debacles, including Benghazi, its journalist-snooping scandal, and Kathleen Sebelius’ shakedown of the healthcare industry before asking, “Tired already?” - Ed Driscoll/PJMedia
“Scandalclipse” - Johan Goldberg/National Review
Have you noticed that basically the only way this White House can get out from under one scandal or controversy is by getting crushed by another? The White House was reeling from the VA scandal, which is why they rolled out the Bergdahl news. They didn’t expect that the Bergdahl story would become so controversial; fortunately they were rescued by the June 6 news of thousands of immigrant children showing up at the border. Hey, quick question: I can’t get my kid out of an airport without her getting messy. Isn’t it strange that all of these kids seem to show up, after a 1,000-mile journey looking so spiffy? Anyway, the immigrant-kid story was pretty brutal for the White House; fortunately they were rescued three days later by the news that ISIS had taken Mosul. The “Who Lost Iraq?” narrative isn’t great for the White House either, which is why it might have been a relief when the IRS announced on June 13 that they lost Lois Lerner’s e-mails.

“How many Qatar officials knew about the deal before a single member of Congress was made aware?”

Congress not among top 90 to learn of Bergdahl trade

Congress held a behind-closed-doors hearing on the deal for Bergdahl. Some of the details presented were classified, others not.

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., told WND: “Today my colleagues and I were informed that as many as 80 to 90 Obama administration officials were aware of the plan to exchange Sgt. Bergdahl for five dangerous terrorists before a single member of Congress was informed.”

Meadows said it is “wholly unacceptable that President Obama knowingly chose to completely bypass Congress.”

The congressman said his question for the White House now is: “How many Qatar officials knew about the deal before a single member of Congress was made aware?”

Report: WH Orchestrated Campaign of Threats and Intimidation Against Servicemen to Keep Them Quiet About Bergdahl

Accusations of threats and intimidation against whistleblowers are a feature not bug of the scandal factory known as the Obama administration, and according to a columnist from Huffington Post, SwapGate is no different. - Debra Heine/Breitbart

Huffpo columnist Bill Robinson joined Fox and Friends Monday morning with some exclusive info from a Pentagon official. Robinson said the official wanted the American people to know that there's a bigger story about the Bergdahl swap that isn't being told - including the claim that servicemen received threats and intimidation from the White House to keep quiet.

Robinson, who has written a series of columns called, "American hero stories" says the official thought he could be trusted with the information.

Robinson told Steve Doocy that "the White House, in concert with the State Department and Defense Department was orchestrating a campaign of threats and intimidation not only against infantrymen and the military men in Afghanistan at the time in 2009, but also against military officers and Pentagon officers to keep silent about what really happened, there."

"He was more than just a deserter," Robinson went on to say. "He was an out and out traitor."

HuffPo Sources: Bergdahl a Traitor; Obama Silencing Soldiers - TPNN

"Huffington Post columnist Bill Robinson appeared on FOX and Friends Monday morning with some disturbing allegations about the Bergdahl case. According to Robinson’s sources in the Pentagon, not only was Bergdahl even more than a collaborator with the Taliban, he is a traitor. He also reveals that his sources informed him that the Obama administration is also going to great lengths to intimidate Bergdahl’s former platoon members and high level Pentagon officials into silence. Robinson says that there is a bigger story that the American people need to know."

Megyn Kelly had Lt Col. Ralph Peters on the Kelly File once again Monday night, to talk about the latest to come out about the Bergdahl swap. Peters has been extremely vocal in his denunciations of the Obama Regime – especially in light of this latest fiasco.

Tonight, he didn’t hold back.

Fmr. Bergdahl team leader: Stories about platoon are ‘half truths’ or ‘completely false’ - Twitchy

There are those who are attempting to protect President Obama from criticism for swapping five Taliban leaders for suspected deserter Bowe Bergdahl by smearing those he served with in Afghanistan.

A recent New York Times editorial claimed Bergdahl’s unit had a “lack of security and discipline” that might have been “as much to blame” for Bergdahl’s “disappearance.” The White House has reportedly said that Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers have been “swift boating” him.

Former Army Sgt. Evan Buetow, who was Bowe Bergdahl’s team leader when he disappeared, said today he looks forward to setting the record straight:

How can Obama conceivably not comprehend that by negotiating with terrorists for a hostage — not even a conventional prisoner of war — he is inviting further hostage taking by jihadi and endangering American lives throughout the world?

It was probably never about Bowe Bergdahl - David Limbaugh/Washington Examiner

Our policy against negotiating with terrorists is not some macho-oriented stance designed to show how tough we are; it is an approach aimed at protecting American lives and not emboldening terrorists to attack, capture and kill us.

Of all the disgraceful actions Obama has taken in his 5 1/2 years of passing scorched-earth policies against America as founded, he may have outdone himself on this one.

5 OBAMA OFFICIALS WHO LIED, THEN LIED ABOUT LYING

Last week, National Security Advisor Susan Rice appeared on the Sunday shows to do what she does best: lie. She told the American public that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, for whom President Obama had exchanged five top Taliban commanders, had served with “honor and distinction.”

...Here are four other officials and former officials in Obamaland who have blatantly lied to the American public, then suggested that they weren’t liars at all:
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. Clapper testified before Congress in 2012 that the NSA was not collecting “any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans.” Clapper later said he had misspoken, after information from Edward Snowden proved that he had been lying. “I responded in what I thought was the most truthful, or least untruthful, manner,” Clapper stated, later justifying that pathetic excuse by stating that the information was classified.

Attorney General Eric Holder. In 2013, Holder testified before Congress that he would not prosecute any reporter under the Espionage Act of 1917. “In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material,” he stated, “this is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy.” Except that Holder himself personally approved an application for a warrant on Fox News’s James Rosen under the auspices of the Espionage Act. The Department of Justice then backed Holder’s lie, stating, “The search warrant application… was focused on obtaining evidence relating to allegations that a government official had leaked highly classified information, which was a threat to our national security.”

Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius.
In March 2014, Sebelius testified that she had no information as to how many Obamacare enrollees had actually paid their first premiums. Sebelius stated angrily, “This is not Medicare or Medicaid, sir, it’s a private plan. People are buying a product in the private market. Consumers don’t pay us, they pay their insurance company, and we don’t have that information right now.” But insurers said Sebelius was incorrect.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Hillary told Congress – not under oath – that “we didn’t have a clear picture” of what had happened in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. She then said there were “no delays in decision-making, no denials of support from Washington or from our military.” And she said she had not seen requests for more security. Those statements were, at best, questionable. But Hillary’s sticking to them all, instead maintaining that she is a victim of a smear.
Apparently, it was lying when the Bush administration reported the best available intelligence about Iraq. It isn’t lying when the Obama administration knows better but lies. Glad we got that straight.

It was probably never about Bowe Bergdahl - David Limbaugh/Washington Examiner

For Obama to have rushed into this exchange at all reveals his warped mindset, but to do it against the advice of senators, the Pentagon and certain White House aides makes it very likely that he had an ulterior motive that had nothing to do with Bergdahl.

If Obama had been angling for a wise exchange, he wouldn't have had to sidestep Congress, and he wouldn't have had to cover up the truth about Bergdahl — possibly removing evidence of his desertion from the classified files and rewriting his history as a hero and as one who was in desperately ill health.

But once again, Obama has painted himself in a corner with arrogance-colored paint, which has necessitated a massive propaganda campaign to justify his actions. Once again, he sent Susan Rice out to lie for him, and once again, his aides have had to walk back what she said.
