Mission Accomplished? No. Why not simply proclaim that it works 100% of the time, as long as you don't count the times when it doesn't?

Mission Accomplished - Le-gal In-sur-rec-tion

The Obama administration just announced that it has met the completely arbitrary, dumbed-down goals it set for healthcare.gov.

These goals were not what was supposed to exist on October 1, but what the administration believed it could meet and therefore met in order to declare the website fixed.

Well, I guess it beats explaining why the Obama administration failed to meet yet another of its deadlines in getting a 42-month web-portal project to work. According to the Washington Post, the White House will announce tomorrow that the Healthcare.gov site has been fixed, even though the site won’t actually be fixed — not even by the administration’s own metrics...

Democrats can't hide from Obamacare's middle-class pinch - David Freddoso/Washington Examiner

...Krugman has never had trouble in his column empathizing with the uninsurable and the very poor, who in many cases will benefit from Obamacare. But it is harder to empathize with the millions of Americans who are not poor, yet must constantly worry about money. These are the people most affected by and angriest about Obamacare now – and they also have little or nothing to gain from it.

Those inflated Obamacare premiums won’t make these people homeless. But they will put a lot of extra pressure on their household budgets. Obamacare will cancel date nights and trips to visit family; it will force less generous Christmases for children. It will mean that for all your hard work, you'll still be driving that piece of junk a few more years before you can afford to replace it with something more reliable.

To some writers, the experiences and aspirations of this entire “middle class” are so foreign that these people might as well all live half a world away in Benghazi. But they are real, and they vote. And if the media tried to ignore their story, the very stones would cry out.

ObamaCare Mission Accomplished: The system isn't working and the website isn't fixed. - Wall St. Journal

Most Democrats are eager to believe any good news, which may explain why the Sunday report is so short on basic information. The eight pages are heavy on charts with unverifiable claims—more than 400 "cumulative software fixes"!—and the Health and Human Services Department declares that "we believe we have met the goal of having a system that will work smoothly for the vast majority of users."

...the progress report reveals that the website is functioning more than 90% of the time—excluding periods when it is shut down for maintenance. HHS won't say how often that is or for how long. Why not simply proclaim that it works 100% of the time, as long as you don't count the times when it doesn't?
