When the DNC data director admits they laundered money for Hillary...

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Clinton rips DNC: "I inherited nothing. I mean, it was bankrupt. It was on the verge of insolvency. Its data was mediocre to poor, nonexistent, wrong,"

Hillary Clinton blasted the Democratic National Committee on Wednesday, saying that she "inherited nothing" from the party after winning its presidential nomination last year.

"So I’m now the nominee of the Democratic Party. I inherit nothing from the Democratic Party," she said during a question and answer session at Code Conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

"I mean, it was bankrupt. It was on the verge of insolvency. Its data was mediocre to poor, nonexistent, wrong," she recalled. "I had to inject money into it."

By contrast, she said, then-GOP candidate Donald Trump inherited a well-funded and extensively tested data operation that laid the foundation for his ultimately successful campaign to effectively weaponize data and internet content against Clinton.

"So Trump becomes the nominee and he is basically handed this tried and true, effective foundation," Clinton said.

Pentagon Official: The President Is Lying To America — About Us, And About ISIS

link
his article is written under an anonymous byline. Read and you'll see why. - Discussion at Lucianne

President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flak since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. And that is right and proper. Because not only was his excuse of blaming us a lie, but when questioned on his lie, White House press secretary Josh Earnest doubled down with a whole new lie — both of which are easily, publicly proven false....

The United States military and intelligence community have learned a lot over the past decade of conflict. Our commander in chief, unfortunately, has not. Since the start of his administration, President Barack Obama has ignored his generals and the intelligence community. Over the past few weeks, he has half-heartedly pursued a strategy that destines us to fail in our mission, and over the past three days, he and his White House have lied to prove otherwise. To those who wear our nation’s uniform, or serve in her intelligence community, that’s insult — and injury.

From Benghazi to Syria to ISIS - Larry Johnson/No Quarter

arack Obama is hoping that most Americans are morons or seized with a terminal case of Alzheimers disease. He and his sycophants are busy making the rounds and saying the most astonishing nonsense. Some of you already have pointed out in comments on other posts some of the more egregious examples, e.g., blaming ISIS on an intelligence failure.

REPORT: President skips nearly 60% of daily intelligence briefings...

MAG: Claim ignorance, blame subordinates, hope people forget - National Journal

Obama's Pass-the-Buck Presidency: The president has a pattern of deflecting blame and denying responsibility. With military action against ISIS underway, that's a dangerous habit.

In attempting to downplay the political damage from a slew of second-term controversies, President Obama has counted on the American people having a very short memory span and a healthy suspension of disbelief. The time-tested strategy for Obama: Claim he's in the dark about his own administration's activities, blame the mess on subordinates, and hope that with the passage of time, all will be forgotten. Harry Truman, the president isn't. He's more likely to pass the buck.

His latest eyebrow-raiser came on 60 Minutes on Sunday, when the president blamed the failure to anticipate the rise of ISIS on his intelligence community for not informing him of the growing threat. "I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria," Obama said. Most early news reports dutifully pinned the blame on the intelligence agencies, with the president escaping any further scrutiny....

A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings (known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB) in the 2,079 days of his presidency through September 29, 2014. - Wynton Hall/Breitbart
The GAI report also included a breakdown of Obama’s PDB attendance record between terms; he attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.

The GAI’s alarming findings come on the heels of Obama’s 60 Minutes comments on Sunday, wherein the president laid the blame for the Islamic State’s (ISIS) rapid rise squarely at the feet of his Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

“I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” said Obama.

According to Daily Beast reporter Eli Lake, members of the Defense establishment were “flabbergasted” by Obama’s attempt to shift blame.

“Either the president doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bullshitting,” a former senior Pentagon official “who worked closely on the threat posed by Sunni jihadists in Syria and Iraq” told the Daily Beast.

Obama Sits Down With 60 Minutes, Blames Everyone But Self For Burning World

Last night President Obama sat down for an interview on 60 Minutes where he discussed everything from ISIS to the economy - Katie Pavlich/Townhall

Obama says 'they' underestimated ISIS - 'they' sure do screw up a lot - Robert Laurie/herman Cain

You may recall 60 Minutes interviewer Steve Kroft from an utterly embarrassing sit down he conducted with President Obama and Hillary Clinton back in 2013. If you watched it, you'll probably recall that Kroft was almost apologetic when he dared to ask Hillary a question about Benghazi. Instead of covering any real issues, the whole thing devolved into a completely disgraceful piece of non-journalism in which the President and outgoing Secretary of State spent a half hour telling America how they adored each other and what "strong" friends they were.

It was shameful, ridiculous, and so overtly fawning that - for a while - Kroft basically became a laughing stock.

Well.... Last night, President Obama appeared on 60 Minutes where he was interviewed by Steve Kroft.

During the course of the questions, Kroft asked how it was possible that Obama could flippantly dismiss ISIS as the "JV team" at the beginning of the year, only to realize they were a massive, global threat 5 months later. "Obviously," Obama thought. "The best way to handle this is to chuck the entire intelligence community under the bus."

...Apparently, it was "they" who called ISIS the "J.V. team."

I guess it was "they" who proudly took credit for the Iraq withdrawl before changing their mind and blaming it on Bush.

It was "they" who laughed at Romney for his alleged desire to start a war in Syria.

And, I supposed it was "they" who wants to arm "moderate" rebels who've signed a non-aggression pact with ISIS.

"They" certainly have been wrong a lot. You would think that, since Obama views James Clapper as such a failure, he'd replace him. After all, Clapper has previously lied to Congress about the NSA and he's apparently terrible at his job in terms of alerting the world to the threat posed by ISIS. If he's so awful, why is he still part of the Obama team?...

Prominent Democrat: The only people who ‘underestimated’ ISIS were in the White House - HotAir
As Ed Morrissey observed, it took only hours for The Daily Beast’s Eli Lake to find well-connected sources willing to denounce the president’s dishonest buck passing. Using some rather coarse language, one frustrated former Pentagon official accused the president of either being mendacious or ignoring his intelligence briefings. Morrissey observed that even New York Times reporters found the president’s testimony in his own defense wanting.

Now, even some Democrats are jumping ship. Former Rear Admiral Joe Sestak, a two-term Democratic member of the House of Representatives, a House Armed Services Committee member, and candidate for U.S. Senate in 2010, was asked on Monday how it was possible for the intelligence community so gravely underestimate ISIS. Sestak appeared to surprise his MSNBC interlocutor when he noted that the only people who got ISIS wrong work in the Obama administration.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., also questioned the president's comments on Monday. Speaking on MSNBC, he said he himself became aware of the threat in the summer of 2013. King said Obama "dropped the ball" and is trying to blame others.

CNN Host on Obama's Fox News and Rush Complaints: Isn't He Above That? Like, You Don't Punch Down.

link - Kyle Becker/IJ Review

In an absolutely brutal segment with Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen, CNN host Don Lemon and conservative guest Reihan Salam dismantle the argument that Fox News and Rush Limbaugh are responsible for Obama’s failings.

This is one of those segments that leaves you wincing as Rosen puts out one weak argument after another, which are subsequently batted down with astute observations, and well, the truth.

After Rosen argues that the president’s words and intentions are “blown out of proportion” by Republicans, Lemon asks pointedly, “Isn’t the president above that? Like, you don’t punch down.”

Amazingly, Rosen comes back with an absolutely silly argument.

...Don Lemon turns to Reihan Salam and it gets even worse for Rosen. “Is he giving them ammunition just be speaking about this?”

“Here’s the fundamental problem, Don,” Salam responds. “The problem is that there are a lot of people, including Democratic lawmakers, including women who serve in the Obama administration who say that this is a difficult guy to work with. There are lawmakers, Democratic lawmakers, who feel as though he has just been tremendously difficult working helping them achieve their goals. It’s not just Republicans. So I have a feeling that the president sometimes wants to shift blame to other people for some of his failures as a communicator and someone who is building communications.”

“Is he shifting blame or is it just the truth?” Don Lemon follows up with Rosen.

NBC's Kristen Welker Laments 2013 As 'A Year To Forget' for Obama's Legacy

On Saturday’s Today, NBC reporter Kristen Welker was assigned the task of rewinding through President Obama’s year in 2013. The screen graphic was clear: “A YEAR TO FORGET?” The liberals couldn't gin up any happy talk. Obama failed to achieve his liberal goals and his health-care rollout was “botched.” - Newsbusters

...KRISTEN WELKER: It was a year that started with great expectations but a few months later, a trio of controversies quickly threatened to detail President Obama’s second-term agenda. Revelations the IRS was targeting conservative groups. And that the Justice Department was seizing the phone records of journalists. Plus the ongoing fallout from the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi....

Obama’s Tedious Act Grown Old and Stale - Commentary

A new Gallup poll finds President Obama’s approval rating at 39 percent and his disapproval rating at 54 percent. But it’s not just that the public is increasingly displeased with the job Mr. Obama is doing; they are growing weary of the whole packaged deal. They are frustrated with the president, his style, his attitude, his approach to the job.

The Boston Herald reports: Experts: Public sick of prez complaining
President Obama’s tanking approval rating in newly released polls shows Americans are tired of his whining, according to some experts, who also see a fighting chance for Republicans to rack up coast-to-coast victories in the 2014 midterm congressional races.

“We think of presidents as being morale leaders … and he goes out and complains,” according to Richard Benedetto, a retired White House correspondent and a journalism professor at American University.

BLOODSPORT: The Health Insurance Industry Is Now Locked In A Death Struggle With The Democrat Party...

...and only one of the two will survive. - Doug Ross

Understand this: the health insurance industry is very much to blame for Obamacare. The health insurance industry happily got naked and jumped into the sack with Obama on his health insurance scheme. They did so thinking that he would leave them a fat, sweaty wad of cash on the night table in the form of forcing everybody in the country to buy their products, and in the process he would make them something akin to a public utility with a pre-ordained profit margin.

Except something happened on the way to conjugal bliss...

Scapegoated insurers fire back at Obama over “administrative fix”: You’re not pinning this ObamaCare mess on us - Allahpundit/HotAir

Don’t cry for these people, needless to say. They helped make ObamaCare happen. They were only too happy to see healthy young adults forced into buying their product by a constitutionally dubious mandate and to gouge healthy middle-class people with the new, more expensive plans required by the exchanges. They wouldn’t have partnered with the White House if this wasn’t a payday for them. But now they’re screwed twice over: Not only are Democrats trying to make them the fall guy for the cancellations, they’re looking at their payday melting down into red ink if they take Obama’s “advice” and re-create the old risk pool. Oh well. No honor among thieves.

They’re not going to take it lying down.

Obama prefers creating Alinskyite political traps for his opponents over doing the responsible thing. And his favorite trap is the one that shifts the blame for his irresponsibility to the Congressional Republicans who have been his favorite target

Obama’s Plan to Blame Syria on Congress - Daniel Greenfield/FrontPage

Either Congress “invests” in Obama’s war and immunizes him from criticism by the Republican Party. Or Obama opts out of the war and blames Republican obstructionism for undermining American credibility abroad while splitting the Republican Party between interventionists and non-interventionists.

Obama’s speech and the distorted media coverage of it have given the impression that Congress gets the final say and that Republicans either have to give Obama a blank check on Syria or get the blame. These are the same cynical tactics that Obama has employed on the economy.

When faced with a difficult political choice, Obama’s natural instinct is to find someone to blame and to use that blame to sow division among his enemies while escaping responsibility for his own disaster....

Obama intends to use Syria as a weapon in a political power struggle against the United States Congress, but it’s also an opening for exposing his Muslim Brotherhood alliances and the wisdom of his Muslim Brotherhood regime change operations in Syria and Egypt.

Obama on Verge of Historic Rebuke Over Syria - David A. Patten/Newsmax

President Barack Obama appears to be dangerously close to what would be an historic rebuke at the hands of Congress, if the current whip-count projections on the authorization to attack Syria continue to hold.

Pundits on both sides of the aisle say losing the high-stakes bid for congressional authorization would make Obama an instant lame-duck, and might well endanger his entire second-term agenda....

The Post has contacted 371 of the 435 members of the House. Of those contacted, 204 representatives are against authorization or leaning against it. That compares to 24 members in favor and 143 members who are undecided, and 48 of the undecided representatives are Republicans.

Of the undecided members, the Post reports, many of them have yet to receive the administration’s intelligence briefing on the sarin gas attack in Syria. About 25 percent of those opposed to the authorization are Democrats, which means the resistance to the proposal is clearly bipartisan.

Earlier this evening, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said "the buck stops with her" in terms of the terrorist that killed the American ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.

BUCK STOPS WITH ME: HILLARY TAKES BLAME FOR BENGHAZI... - CNN via Drudge
"In the wake of an attack like this, in the fog of war, there's always going to be confusion," Clinton said. "And I think it is absolutely fair to say that everyone had the same intelligence. Everyone who spoke tried to give the information that they had. As time has gone on, that information has changed. We've gotten more detail, but that's not surprising. That always happens."

She added, "What I want to avoid is some kind of political gotcha or blame game."
"I know that we're very close to an election," Clinton said. "I want to just take a step back here and say from my own experience, we are at our best as Americans when we pull together. I've done that with Democratic presidents and Republican presidents."
Her remarks drew a quick response from three Republicans on the Senate Armed Services Committee, including ranking member John McCain.
Senators Insist Buck Must Stop with Obama - Daniel Halper/Weekly Standard
"We have just learned that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has claimed full responsibility for any failure to secure our people and our Consulate in Benghazi prior to the attack of September 11, 2012. This is a laudable gesture, especially when the White House is trying to avoid any responsibility whatsoever," the senators say in a joint statement.

"However, we must remember that the events of September 11 were preceded by an escalating pattern of attacks this year in Benghazi, including a bomb that was thrown into our Consulate in April, another explosive device that was detonated outside of our Consulate in June, and an assassination attempt on the British Ambassador. If the President was truly not aware of this rising threat level in Benghazi, then we have lost confidence in his national security team, whose responsibility it is to keep the President informed. But if the President was aware of these earlier attacks in Benghazi prior to the events of September 11, 2012, then he bears full responsibility for any security failures that occurred. The security of Americans serving our nation everywhere in the world is ultimately the job of the Commander-in-Chief. The buck stops there.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton granted an interview with CNN live from underneath the bus, and it was one that the White House will welcome… at least for now: - Doug Powers/Michelle Malkin
It’s worth mentioning that one of the topics at Tuesday’s Obama/Romney spar will be national security, so Hillary saying she wants to “avoid political gotcha” by absorbing responsibility for Benghazi the day before the debate doesn’t feel genuine no matter what the motive. But what about the administration’s evolving spin on this story does feel genuine?
HILLARY TRIES TO THROW HERSELF UNDER THE BENGHAZI BUS: Says She Was Responsible For Diplomats' Security - Doug Ross
Gee, you mean the Secretary of State is responsible for the State Department? Well, I'll be damned.

"Political gotcha"?

An Ambassador is dead and the administration trotted out a series of lies from the outset. And the key questions remain unanswered:

• Who ordered security removed from Ambassador Stevens when he and other personnel were requesting more security?

• Who made up the story about the video and the non-protest in Libya?

• And why were the false stories promoted for weeks on end?

Four Americans are dead and more than a month has elapsed during which the administration has lied, evaded and misdirected. Perhaps a few of these questions will be asked in in the remaining presidential debates. Dare to dream.
Obama Hides Behind Hillary’s Skirt - Larry Johnson/No Quarter
Talk about a spineless wimp. That is Barack Obama when it comes to Libya. Hillary Clinton tonight, while speaking in Peru, takes full responsibility for the failure to have the consulate in Benghazi properly secured and Ambassador Chris Stevens appropriately protected. And she’s right. She is at fault.

But having Hillary take the hit does not get Obama off the hook. She ultimately may have been responsible for the security failure in Libya, but she was not the one who sent Susan Rice out to lie to the American people. That was Barack Obama’s call. Here is the irony–when Obama was busy spiking the football for taking out Bin Laden he was quick to claim the credit for making the tough decision. He could not wait to get in front of the cameras and set in motion leaks that completely exposed a top secret US Navy Special Ops unit.

But while Ambassador Stevens’ corpse was still warm, what did Barack do?

He jetted off to Las Vegas to raise campaign cash. He had no time nor inclination to brief the American public on this epic fail on 9-11, 2012. His campaign was counting on doing a triumphant foreign policy march waving the body of Osama Bin Laden as a victory scalp. That meme turned to ashes with the shell of the burned out US Consulate and annex in Benghazi more than one month ago.

So, Hillary accepts responsibility? Fine. She should tender her resignation. She failed to do her job and four Americans are dead that should not have died. If she stays on the job, then we know this is just a cheap, political gesture with no substance. MORE at the link.
