Mark Levin: Obama’s Executive Orders ‘Un-American,’ ‘Fascistic’

Conservative radio host Mark Levin tore into President Barack Obama on Wednesday after the president signed several executive orders aimed at curbing gun violence. Levin told Fox News Channel host Neil Cavuto that Obama’s executive orders were “un-American,” “fascistic,” and would do little reduce gun crime. - Noah Rothman/Mediaite

“Signed, sealed, and Republicans, well, delirious – apoplectic more the word – over a president they say is now out of control,” Cavuto began.

“What do any of these 23 have to do with what happened in Newtown?” Levin asked Cavuto rhetorically. “It’s a weird collection of proposals.”

Levin took issue with a number of provisions, some of which he says merely enforce existing law and others he says extend beyond the appropriate reach of the executive branch.

“There are some things in his executive orders that are un-American. In some ways they’re even fascistic,” Levin continued.

Doctors are private citizens. Do we really want doctors reporting to the federal government if they think somebody might have violent tendencies? Do we really want to discourage people who have mental health issues, or people bringing them in to see their doctor, because they may become part of a national law enforcement database? How is that going to stop any crime?

“There is no connection between reality and what this president is proposing,” Levin concluded.
