Supervisors to appoint McKinleyville Municipal Advisory Committee members; three board-appointed seats up for grabs

Applicants include communications technician David Christian, file clerk Eleanor Sullivan, U.S. Coast Guard helicopter pilot Bernie Garrigan, contractor Tim Hooven, engineering project manager Patrick Barsanti, school bus driver Kathleen Christopher, Caltrans associate right-of-way agent Nancy Hueske, Caltrans senior right-of-way agent Leota Lovelace, Realtor Kevin Dreyer, retired McKinleyville resident Ben Shepherd, multiple business owner Kevin Jenkins and Realtor Terry Roberts.

The committee will have seven voting members and one non-voting member. The voting members of the board will be include three people chosen by the supervisors as a whole, three people chosen by 5th District Supervisor Ryan Sundberg -- who represents McKinleyville -- and one person chosen by the McKinleyville Community Services District.

The McKinleyville Community Services District has already appointed MCSD Director Helen Edwards as its voting member and MCSD General Manager Norman Shopay as the non-voting member of the committee, according to the county staff report.
