South Carolina GOP strategist Wes Donehue, who advised Michele Bachmann’s campaign, put it more emphatically: Santorum miscalculated by spending a week in New Hampshire.
“He wasted time in a state he couldn’t win instead of coming to a state where he could absolutely could place first, second or third,” Donehue said.
With just 11 days until South Carolina votes, Santorum has a small window to bulk up staff, raise money and flood the zone.
