...Senate Budget Committee Chair Michael Enzi (R-WY) introduced a budget resolution Tuesday that includes “reconciliation instructions” that enable Congress to repeal Obamacare with a simple Senate majority. Passing a budget resolution that includes those instructions will mean that the legislation can pass through the budget reconciliation process, in which bills cannot be filibustered.

That means Republicans will only need 50 of their 52 members in the Senate, and a bare majority in the House, to pass legislation repealing the Affordable Care Act. According to the Wall Street Journal, the budget resolution could be passed by both houses as early as next week.

To be clear, passing the budget resolutions does not itself repeal Obamacare. But it’s the necessary first step if Republicans are to do that this year, and unless three or more Republican senators defect (or 24 House members do), it’ll be smooth sailing for the repeal effort from there on out....

In a speech heaping criticism upon President Obama's healthcare law, the Republican presidential nominee vowed that he would work to ditch the measure as one of his first actions as president.

"I will ask Congress to convene a special session so we can repeal and replace it," Trump told a crowd in King of Prussia, Pa. "And it will be such an honor for me, for you and for everyone in this country.

Lawmakers approved the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act in a 240-189 vote that saw all but one Democrat vote against the measure, along with seven Republicans.

The bill would eliminate the individual and employer health insurance mandates, the 2.3 percent medical device tax, and the tax on "Cadillac" health care plans. It would kill off a public health fund under Obamacare that the GOP has said is a "slush fund" for the Obama administration.

And, importantly for many Republicans, it would also impose a one-year moratorium on federal funding for Planned Parenthood. That group is being investigated after a series of videos suggesting that the group may be profiting from the sale of fetal remains.

58 Percent of American Voters Want Obamacare Repealed

◼ Fifty-eight percent of American voters would vote to repeal Obamacare, according to a new Fox News poll. - Washington Free Beacon

The poll also found that a majority of those polled are “at least somewhat bothered” by Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber’s comments regarding a lack of transparency and the “stupidity of the American voter” contributing to the passing of the law....

Additionally, 28 percent of those polled say they are worse off due to Obamacare.

Now, the leader of those bureaucrats and, thus, the person responsible (notionally) for the roll-out, Kathleen Sebelius, says that its a branding problem. The name by which most people know the bill – “Obamacare” – has become toxic.

“Obamacare, no question, has a very bad brand that has been driven intentionally by a lot of misinformation and a lot of paid advertising, and I think we may need to call it something in the future different, but it’s working,” she said at an event hosted by Politico.

So what should it be called. Maybe Dr. Gruber has some suggestions.

In the new year, Americans would become “hooked on the subsidies, addicted to the sugar,” Cruz told a Tea Party gathering in his home state on August 19, according to the Texas Tribune. “If we get to January 1, this thing is here forever.” This belief was a main justification for the last-ditch campaign to fund the government if, and only if, Obamacare was defunded.

But on a conference call Wednesday afternoon, a month after Obamacare subsidies began flowing, Cruz told reporters that he no longer believes that January 1 was the deadline to stop Obamacare. "I believe we will repeal Obamacare," he said.

The reason Cruz thinks the law can still be repealed is that he and others had the high-profile fight to defund Obamacare in the first place. "I think we are seeing the fruits of the battle that so many millions of Americans engaged in last fall to stop Obamacare," Cruz said. "I think the direct result of that fight was to elevate the national debate about the harms that Obamacare has caused. And as a consequence, I think the terrain has changed, and I believe we will repeal Obamacare."
