The big teaching moment for Republicans, conservatives and libertarians — that time you can finally whisper new ideas quietly in the ears of your liberal and progressive friends and relations — is here.

◼ Alinsky Lessons for Republicans - Roger L. Simon/PJMedia

And it’s not just because Obamacare is an unbelievable fiasco that even has them stuttering on CBS and ABC. Everything is going haywire for the president. Absolutely everything.

But what, in the midst of this, can we all do actually to change things?

First of all, resist the obvious temptation to get up and scream at the top of your lungs:

“Obamacare! Benghazi! Fast and Furious! IRS scandal in the White House! Morsi, Erdogan, Muslim Brotherhood and the rest of the Islamist maniacs! Iranian nukes! Bungling Assad and the Russians! Record black unemployment! Black on black murder epidemic! Six, going on seven, years of joblessness! Lowest labor participation rate since women joined the work force! Crony capitalism all over the place! Absurd environmental regulations! Keystone pipeline! Nuclear family vanishing! Single parents everywhere! Homeless in our streets! NSA spying on everyone in the universe! Bankrupt pension plans and escalating entitlements! Everything in hock to the Chinese! 17 trillion dollars in debt with no end in sight! He’s the worst president in history! The worst president imaginable!”

Did I leave anything out?

Oh, yes, the man is the biggest presidential liar of my lifetime, far bigger than Nixon and Clinton who lied out of self-protection. Obama lies, and constantly, about substance that affects the lives of the American people. He started it all by pledging during his first campaign his administration would be the most transparent in history. That was the mother of all whoppers. Since then it’s been all downhill.

Among his more recent — and most personally damaging — Pinocchios is the claim he made when selling Obamacare to the public that anyone who liked his or her health plan could keep it. What unconscionable baloney that proved to be. As of now health insurance cancellations are soaring above Obamacare enrollment rates. There will be tons more uninsured people come January.

But true as that may all be — and we certainly shouldn’t forget it — it’s all worth less than the proverbial hill of beans to our liberal/progressives friends. Scream at them and they will just stick their fingers in their ears and yell “Racist!” or something equally attractive....

The holiday season is fast upon us and friends and family will be getting together. In this radically divided country, feelings will be raw, as they have been for the last decade at least.

This is the time to lead your horse to water.

In modern political history, the GOP has won when it has embraced its conservative principles and articulated a message of freedom and enterprise. Freedom is the most inclusive message in politics. As the late Andrew Breitbart used to say, "If we can't sell Freedom, we suck."

◼ POLITICO MISDIRECTS FROM OBAMA'S COLLAPSING NUMBERS - Mike Flynn/Breitbart

Politico's Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei stretched their writing wings and penned ◼ an editorial Thursday night on the looming collapse of the Republican party. Allen and VandeHai, whose day jobs are to undercut the GOP and its candidates, feign concern that the party isn't doing enough to appeal to voters who don't support the party. A more interesting story for the democrats-with-by-lines is the precipitous drop in support for Obama on every major issue.
According to Gallup, just 35% of Americans support Obama's handling of the economy. In early June, before Obama embarked on an extensive tour of speeches about the economy, 42% approved of his efforts. In other words, the more he talked about the economy, the less Americans approved of how he was handling it.
It isn't just the economy, though. Americans don't support how Obama is handling virtually every issue. Only 26% support Obama's handling of the federal deficit. Taxes? 36% approve. Foreign Affairs? 40%. Immigration? 39%. Health Care? 39%. Only on fighting terrorism (50%) and race relations (51%) does Obama win the backing of a majority, just, of Americans.
Obama basically has the backing of the Democrat base and no one else....

Allen and VandeHei would rather the GOP adopt the Democrat playbook and make explicit appeals based on identity politics. An healthy dash of racial politics with a pinch of feminist rhetoric. It is a recipe for disaster for the GOP. Which is, of course, why Politico is pushing it.

The GOP should “change” — except it should do so for the good of the country and by posing a powerful alternative vision to the modern left’s.

◼ In my view, the number one failing of the Republican Party is its messaging and use of language. - Kyle Becker/IJ Review

The Republicans know what’s right, but are unable to effectively communicate it. The biggest stumbling block is they don’t know how to defeat deceptive language and concede false premises whenever they adopt the left’s language. Stop it.

...what the GOP needs is a Declaration of Personal Independence for young people to latch onto and emboldens them to pursue their dreams.

The dismissive attitude that the youth are not attracted to the idea of freedom — economic and social — is erroneous and self-destructive. By ceding the culture to the modern left, primarily through the unwillingness to counter deceptive language, those who support liberty will continue to see the government transform into a smothering bully.

The alternative is to fully and unashamedly champion the powerful vision and just cause of freedom.
