DEMOCRATIC LOUISIANA SEN. MARY LANDRIEU DEFEATED

Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy defeated Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu on Saturday, denying her a fourth term and extending the GOP's domination of the 2014 midterm elections that put Republicans in charge of Capitol Hill for the final two years of President Barack Obama's tenure. - AP

With Cassidy's victory, Republicans will hold 54 seats when the Senate convenes in January, nine more than they have now. Republican victories in two Louisiana House districts Saturday - including the seat Cassidy now holds - ensure at least 246 seats, compared to 188 for Democrats, the largest GOP advantage since the Truman administration after World War II. An Arizona recount leaves one race still outstanding.

With nearly all the votes counted, unofficial returns showed Cassidy with a commanding victory.

Republican Victories Mark the Beginning of a New Era - LA GOP

“This is a major milestone for the conservative movement in Louisiana,” LAGOP Chairman Roger Villere said. “We’ve fought tirelessly for decades to protect the unborn, properly define marriage, enact tort reform, strengthen our Second Amendment rights and give every child access to a quality education. Through it all, Louisiana has consistently and unquestionably rejected the liberal ideology of the Democrat Party. Democrats have become so out of touch with the people of Louisiana that they have forced themselves into irrelevance. There is a new dawn on the horizon and Louisiana’s future is looking brighter than ever before.”

Democrats Implode in Louisiana

link - The Other McCain

Ali Akbar, Anita Moncrief and other activists with the Black Conservatives Fund have been making a huge difference in Louisiana during the final weeks of the campaign leading up to Saturday’s election that will end the Senate career of Democrat Mary Landrieu.
However, as much credit as is certainly due to BCF, the real credit goes to the Democrats themselves, who simply weren’t ready for primetime once Ali’s crew showed up to expose their corruption....

Damn, Andrew Breitbart would be so proud to see this day. After Saturday’s election, there won’t be anything left of the Democrat Party in Louisiana but a vast smoldering crater of failure and fear.

Landrieu chief of staff caught on camera promising Landrieu will vote with Obama 97% of the time

Oops. There goes the narrative. - Robert Laurie/Herman Cain

By now, everyone knows that Louisiana Democrat Mary Landrieu marches in lock step with her party and her President. They've done their best to deny it but her record is her record. She voted with the President 97% of the time, and she's reaping the "rewards" of those decisions.

Since the President's approval rating is circling the drain, and Landrieu is headed for a probably-disastrous December 6th runoff, her campaign is trying desperately to ignore all of that. They're doing whatever they can possibly do to put distance between their candidate and their own - deeply unpopular - White House. If they're to be believed, Landrieu has gone rogue. She's now a centrist who's bucking Obama's liberal agenda.

Unfortunately, they have a little problem. His name is Don Cravins Jr., he's Mary Landrieu's Washington chief of staff, and he has a prediction to make about how Landrieu will vote if she gets re-elected....

And now LIBERALS are ticked at this senator's desperate re-election gambit

Protesters SWARM Mary Landrieu’s Capitol Hill Home - Daily Caller
The protest comes as Landrieu, trailing in the polls with her Republican opponent, is emphasizing her support for the Keystone pipeline ahead of her run-off in Louisiana next month.

Republicans say Landrieu is using the issue to try to save her seat. The Keystone pipeline would carry oil from Canada to oil refiners on the Gulf Coast, including in Louisiana.

After six years of not allowing a vote, Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid plan(ned) to bring the Keystone pipeline up for a vote on Tuesday.

Sometimes you hit “publish” when you meant to hit “save draft.” That seems to be what happened today at The New York Times when it comes to the story on the Keystone XL pipeline vote in the Senate.

The vote hasn’t happened yet, but their story was written…and posted to the Internet hours before the vote. And both versions are favorable to Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu, currently facing a runoff election against Congressman Bill Cassidy on Dec. 6.

In the rush to be first, the Times wrote two different versions of their story – one where “The Senate narrowly voted to approve the Keystone” and one where “Senate Democrats narrowly defeated a bill TK to TK (an editing space-saver for information to be added later) that would have approved the construction of the Keystone XL.”

If the Senate votes to pass Keystone, the Times has a quote from Hawaii Democratic Senator Brian Schatz ready to go that praises Senator Landrieu... WKEEP READING

BREAKING: Democrats don’t bail out Mary ‪#‎KeystoneXL‬ bill FAILS to pass in the Senate. - Elizabeth Harrington/Washington Free Beacon

Democratic incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu (La.) failed to convince enough members of her party to support the Keystone XL pipeline Tuesday evening, a vote considered a desperate attempt to save her Senate seat.

Legislation that would have expedited the approval of the pipeline failed 41-59, falling short of the 60-vote threshold needed for approval. All 45 Republicans voted for the bill. Nearly six in 10 Americans support the project.

Keystone XL goes up for a vote (UPDATED: Vote fails) - Le-gal In-sur-rec-tion

Anyone who watched the C-SPAN feed during the vote noticed something interesting—the rest of her caucus avoided Landrieu like she was surrounded by a forcefield. Many pundits have enjoyed the “Reid is giving her a chance to redeem her candidacy” narrative, but let’s not pretend this was anything more than Democrats going through the motions and then pulling the rug out from under yet another lost cause.

'MAILBOX' AD AGAINST SEN. MARY LANDRIEU HIGHLIGHTS FAMILIES ROCKED BY OBAMACARE

Levi Russell, a spokesman for the group, told Breitbart News that the "Mailbox" ad feels different from other staid commercials because it "cuts through the hyper-political talking points around Obamacare and connects with the heart.

"Real people are hurting. Real people are losing access to their family doctor or finding their insurance plan cancelled out from under them. We want to share that frustration and anxiety, and get past the latest smoke screen from [White House spokesman] Jay Carney," he continued. "Far too often, conservatives tend to spend too much time on the numbers, facts, and stats, and not enough time on the personal impact of the issues we engage on. The reality is there are millions of Obamacare victims, and this ad connects us with them, rather than the latest CBO report."

Mary Landrieu Flies Home On Air Force One To Attend A Fundraiser

In case you don’t know, Sen Mary Landrieu could not attend an event with Pres Obama and her excuse was that she had a long standing commitment to attend. - WeaselZippers

Well it turns out her long standing commitment was a fundraiser for women only billed at $40 a head. What’s even worse? Mary Landrieu used taxpayer dollars to do it.

Turns out Mary Landrieu flew home with Pres Barack Obama on Air Force One. Meaning taxpayers paid for her to ride to Louisiana to attend a fundraiser that benefited her and only her.
