Here's a horrifying recap: The Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram kidnapped 276 schoolgirls in Chibok, Nigeria, on April 14, 2014. Some escaped, but 219 vanished, prompting the #BringBackOurGirls campaign that captured international attention and accomplished nothing. Since #BringBackOurGirls, Boko Haram has grown stronger. Thousands of innocent people are dead; millions have been displaced. At least 2,000 more women and girls have been kidnapped and likely sold into sex slavery. If they're alive, the Chibok girls are a symbol of Boko Haram's evil devastation. But it's unlikely we'll ever bring them back.

UN OFFICIAL: ISIS FORCES GIRLS TO UNDERGO VIRGINITY SURGERIES, MARRY THEM OFF 20 TIMES
◼ “Women and girls are at risk and under assault at every point of their lives,” she explained, adding that the threats lurk behind them “every step of the way… in the midst of active conflict, in areas under control of armed actors, at check-points and border crossings, and in detention facilities.” - Breitbart
“Girls are literally being stripped naked and examined in slave bazaars,” she claimed and said they were “categorized and shipped naked off to Dohuk or Mosul or other locations to be distributed among ISIL leadership and fighters.”
In November, a video on YouTube showed ISIS militants laughing and joking while purchasing Yazidi slaves. The men acted like they were bidding on an object, not a human being. One man explained to the camera eye color makes a difference on the price and the female must have all her teeth.

Obama to Nigerian Christians: Change Laws on Abortion, Homosexuality If You Want Protection from Boko Haram
Bishop Emmanuel Badejo spoke ◼ in Rome to Aleteia, saying of the Obama administration:
“The United States actually said it would help Nigeria with Boko Haram only if we modify our laws concerning homosexuality, family planning, and birth control.”A Wall Street Journal article about an interview with Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan published last week described “various issues” supposedly keeping the Obama administration from providing more support to Nigeria in its fight against Boko Haram, but did not mention the morals issues claimed by Bishop Badejo....
In August 2014, then U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman(R-TX) made a similar charge to Bishop Badejo’s, saying the Obama administration was withholding aid to Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram in part over Nigeria’s “social policy.”
The charge was denied by a State Department offical at ◼ a recent House hearing.
...A Reuters article on Western criticism of the law noted that Nigeria not being dependent on Western financial aid gave those governments little leverage to pressure Nigeria. If Bishop Badejo is correct, President Obama has decided the leverage he has is to punish Nigeria by letting Boko Haram slaughter Christians and rape and enslave Christian girls.

Boko Haram: 200,000 Christians at Risk of Massacre in Nigeria
"An attack on Madiguri is very likely," said J. Peter Pham, director of the Africa Project at the Atlantic Council, echoing U.S. intelligence officials. Pham believes, as do other experts, that Boko Haram has already placed "sleeper cells" among the tide of refugees who have fled the group's murderous rampage through Africa's most populous nation. "They've done it everywhere else they've gone," said Pham. "So why not Maiduguri?"

"nobody seems to be talking about Boko Haram these days — and that includes the White House"
◼ Obama goes quiet on Boko Haram - Brian Hughes/Washington Examiner
It started with a groundswell of support and an appeal to “Bring Back Our Girls.” Ten months later, with most of those Nigerian schoolgirls no closer to being home, the White House rarely invokes the mounting atrocities committed by Boko Haram.
As President Obama devotes more time to confronting the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria — he requested formal war powers on Wednesday — and as his administration increasingly focuses on the bloodshed in Ukraine, the rising body count in Nigeria has become just a passing reference.

2016 and Paris: It’s the Jihad, Stupid!
...if you don’t think what happened in Paris can happen here, you’re out of your bloomin’ mind. It already has, as everybody knows, and the chances are about 99.9999% it will again. (We could be hit by an asteroid instead, saving us from the jihadis.)
Meanwhile, under the watch of the man who masquerades under the moniker of president of the United States, someone who can barely muster a dopey three-minute speech filled with banalities about the killings in France, radical Islam has metastasized across the world in a manner only dreamed of on 9/11. A map on Gretawire shows terror networks cutting a wide swathe across the planet, from South America through North Africa on to the Indian subcontinent and then into South-East Asia. In a sense the map should already include Western Europe, the way things are going.
And most likely things are going to get worse. Al Qaeda (operating with impunity in Syria, Yemen and elsewhere) and ISIS (with a state of its own the size of Indiana) are in a pissing contest for terrorist maniacs of the year while Boko Haram is doing its best to exterminate everyone in Nigeria, and apparently succeeding – all in the name of Allah. And our president never uses the word “Islamic” or acknowledges that we are at war — even though, quite obviously, the Islamists are at war with us and with Western civilization. And they seem just to be getting started.... KEEP READING

Boko Haram Torches Nigerian Town of Baga; 2,000 Missing: Senator
◼ More than 2,000 people are unaccounted for after radical Islamist sect Boko Haram torched more than 10 towns and villages in Nigeria, a local lawmaker told NBC News.
Ahmed Zanna, a senator for Borno state where the attack happened, said the militants razed the town of Baga as well as "10-to-20" other communities in the country's rural northeast over the past five days. "These towns are just gone, burned down," he told NBC News via telephone. "The whole area is covered in bodies."
...Nigeria will hold general elections on February 14, a ballot many expect Boko Haram will attempt to disrupt. NIGERIAN EXTREMIST SAYS KIDNAPPED GIRLS MARRIED
"If you knew the state your daughters are in today, it might lead some of you ... to die from grief," Abubakar Shekau sneers, addressing the parents of the girls and young women kidnapped from a remote boarding school more than six months ago.
In a new video released late Friday night, the Boko Haram leader also denies there is a cease-fire with the Nigerian government and threatens to kill an unidentified German hostage.
"Don't you know we are still holding your German hostage (who is) always crying," he taunts. "If we want, we will hack him or slaughter him or shoot him."

Not one student has been rescued
◼ On the night of April 14, 2014, hundreds of schoolgirls at the Chibok boarding school in northeastern Nigeria awoke to the sound of gunfire. They saw men in camouflage approaching and thought soldiers were coming to save them from a militant attack, according to survivors' accounts. - Huffington Post
Instead, more than 270 of the schoolgirls found themselves in the clutches of the Islamist militant group Boko Haram. Their abduction sparked global outrage and a huge campaign calling for their rescue, partly propelled by the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.
Sunday marks five months since the girls were kidnapped. Here's what has happened since.

Are the Orcs Winning?
◼ In the 21st century we are often lectured that such simplistic, one-dimensional evil is long gone.... - Victor Davis Hanson/PJMedia
But then suddenly along comes the limb-lopping, child-snatching, and mutilating Nigerian-based Boko Haram. What conceivable Dark Age atrocity have they omitted? Not suicide bombing, mass murder, or random torture. They are absolutely unapologetic for their barbarity. They are ready to convert or kill preteens as their mood determines for the crime of being Christian. In response, the Nigerian government is powerless, while the United States is reduced to our first lady holding up Twitter hashtags, begging for the release of the latest batch of girls....
Now we are glued on ISIS, the Mesopotamian killers who are beheading on video streams American journalists, as they murder, rape, and mutilate their way from Syria to central Iraq. One of the beheaders, Jihadi John, has a British accent, and seems to enjoy shocking Westerners with the fact that he is more familiarly savage than his fellow Arab-speaking masochists. Apparently his family immigrated from the Muslim world to the affluence and freedom of the United Kingdom for a more civilized life so that their pampered son could one day leave it to seek to destroy all that had enabled him — and thereby find “meaning.”
We can stop the roll call of global orcs here, with the assumption that we all know the nature of the lunatic North Korea nuclear regime, what the Iranians are planning for the children of the Holocaust, or who the sinister sort who run Pakistani military intelligence and fund terrorists in Afghanistan are. As state powers, they all have ways of incinerating tens of thousands rather than beheading hundreds.
Evil is ancient, unchanging, and with us always. The more postmodern the West becomes — affluent, leisured, nursed on moral equivalence, utopian pacifism, and multicultural relativism — the more premodern the evil among us seems to arise in nihilistic response, whether it is from the primordial Tsarnaev brothers or Jihadi John. We have invented dozens of new ways to explain away our indifference, our enemies hundreds of new ways of reminding us of our impotence. I suppose we who enjoy the good life don’t want to lose any of it for anything — and will understandably do any amount of appeasing, explaining, and contextualizing to avoid an existential war against the beheaders and mutilators, a fact well-known to our enemies.
The Europeans are shrugging that Ukraine is lost and will soon sigh that the Baltic states are a far-off place not worth risking the coffee shops of Amsterdam to defend. Westerners lament beheadings but then privately mutter that journalists know just what they are getting into when they visit the Middle East. Murdering and abusing a U.S. ambassador on video is not such a big deal anymore and is worth only a second or so mention on Google News.
So we wait behind our suburban Maginot Lines, arguing over our quarter- and half-measure responses, refighting Iraq and Afghanistan as if they were the Somme and Verdun, assured that we can distract ourselves from the horrors abroad with psychodramas about Ferguson, the president’s golfing, his lectures on fairness, and which naked celebrity photo was hacked on the Internet.
Meanwhile the orcs are busy and growing and nearing the ramparts…

It appears Boko Haram has discovered a new use for the kidnapped schoolgirls
There has been a series of female suicide bombings in the city of Kano this August and it was the fourth bombing carried out by a female in the past week. The latest came when a female suicide bomber blew herself up at a college in Kano, Nigeria, killing 6 people. According to reports the bomber was a female teenager.
Government spokesman Mike Omeria said, “Security forces arrested 3 Boko Haram suspects in Katsina state, two of them were female. One was a 10-year old girl who had an explosive belt strapped to her by the others.” The thing is at that age she was totally unaware of what they had put on her (a belt of explosives) or that they had been detonating these explosive belts by remote control after the girls were close enough to their target.
A military source has revealed to Daily Mail, that some of the explosives used recently on the female suicide bombers sent by Boko Haram have been traced back to a Chinese mining factory which was seized just weeks ago by the sect. Circumstantial evidence strongly suggests that none of the teenage girls were informed about the suicide mission. When girls were supposedly sent on errands the sect members stayed hidden but close enough to use remote controls to detonate the Improvised Explosive Devise (IED’s)....

THE REAL WORLD WAR ON WOMEN
In April 2014, the Islamist group Boko Haram (which means “Western education is a sin”) kidnapped over 300 Nigerian teenage girls. The girls were reportedly being auctioned off for $12 each to become wives, or worse. So when Michelle Obama launched her public #BringBackOurGirls campaign, I was hopeful that this might possibly bring awareness to the Islamic jihad against women. In spite of her husband’s support of all-things-Islam, it seemed like maybe, just maybe, Michelle could bring attention to the evils of Islam, the way she did when she told everyone they were fat!
But alas, that hope soon faded. As is usually the case in Hollywood, the “trend” quickly dissipated, and everyone quickly forgot about the Nigerian teenage girls. In truth it’s doubtful any of the celebrities holding their hashtag selfies ever actually understood the barbarity of Boko Haram and other Islamic groups – and by their lack of interest, perhaps they never really cared about “Our Girls” at all. The media went back to reporting about Beyonce and J-Zee’s marital problems and the new season of “Honey Boo Boo.” They moved on to the more pressing American issues that they believe substantiate the imaginary American War on Women, including Hobby Lobby not giving workers as many free birth control options as they wanted....
On a recent panel about Islam on “The Sean Hannity Show,” liberal Tamara Holder denigrated two of the biggest defenders of women’s rights, Brigitte Gabriel of ACT! For America and Jamie Glazov, editor of Front Page Magazine. Both Brigitte and Jamie are activists who continuously call out the evils of Islam. They write and speak about honor killings, beheadings and the insidious spread of Shariah across the world – and yet Holder (and many on the left) deems them, and not Islam, “dangerous.”
If Christian churches began condoning acid attacks, family murder, pedophilia or genital mutilation, one can only imagine the outcry from the media and people like Tamara Holder, but I digress …

#BringBackOurGirls? President Barack Obama hasn't mentioned terrorist group Boko Haram since May 28.
◼ Hashtag MIA: Boko Haram Urgency Fades as Questions Raised About What Admin Knew When - Bridget Johnson/PJM
As quickly as Boko Haram caught Washington by hashtag storm, the Nigerian terrorists — and their schoolgirl captives — have seemingly vanished from the radar of priorities, even as the al-Qaeda-linked group’s jihadi brothers-in-arms run roughshod across Iraq.
One senator this week, though, charged that the administration never wanted the frightening growth of the North African terrorist organization to receive much attention in the first place....
There are some chilling foreign policy parallels between the continuing terrorist attacks in Nigeria and the terrorist takeover now grabbing the headlines in Iraq. The activities of both groups underscore that al-Qaeda is not on the run but metastasizing, and the atrocities of both have been met with calls for political solutions rather than a declaration of war on Islamic jihadists.
,,,Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) this week questioned why the State Department, under former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, “misled” Congress on the threat posed by Boko Haram.
He cited 2011 evidence on Boko Haram presented to the State Department by the National Counterterrorism Center, followed by a delay in the group’s terror designation until fall 2013.
“Recent evidence suggests Secretary Hillary Clinton and the State Department not only knew of the extent, but also deliberately attempted to obfuscate the issue in order to avoid having to make the designation of Boko Haram as a FTO, including downplaying the State Department’s own Country Reports on Terrorism (CRT),” Vitter wrote to Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday.
“Inaccuracies within official documents make it clear that the State Department misled Congress and the American people...."

"He said 'no, I am ready to see my Lord, I am a Christian,' and they blew his face away," Smith recalled. "That is the underlying, fundamental, raison d'être of Boko Haram."
"Boko Haram attacks everyone who is Nigerian. Boko Haram is an equal-opportunity threat for all Nigerian citizens."
That answer irritated Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., who chairs the subcommittee panel on global human rights. "You said you wish they would differentiate or discriminate — they were so discriminating. Yes, they'll hit other Nigerians, they'll hit other westerners, but Christians are their main target," he countered....
"The question that I was asked was whether there was an official State Department position on the motivations of Boko Haram, which I simply don't have with me," Sewall replied. "If the question is, 'Does the leadership of Boko Haram and do the actions of Boko Haram target Christianity?' [the answer is] absolutely, unequivocally. More fundamentally, they target other things too and they are a threat to the government and the region. And so I loved the very clear-eyed characterization that was just offered [by Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas], which is that Boko Haram is motivated by hatred. I don't think anybody would disagree with that."

'NIGERIA SECURITY TRACKER' MAPS OUT BOKO HARAM VIOLENCE SINCE 2011
The Nigeria Security Tracker follows deaths that can be attributable to a terror group or tensions between ethnic, political, or religious groups. While the tracker does follow all varieties of this sort of violence, its findings suggest that Boko Haram is far and away the most dangerous group conducting these deadly activities. The group, which has existed in its current state under leader Abubakar Shekau since 2009, is to blame for a great number of these deaths.
When announcing the tracker in 2012, the Council on Foreign Relations noted that Boko Haram was also responsible indirectly for a number of deaths thanks to inefficient attempts by the Nigerian government to fight them. "Government soldiers have been indiscriminate in their fight against Boko Haram, often killing innocent civilians," noted Campbell. "Police across the country are notorious for extrajudicial murder. Violent clashes between ethnic or occupational groups at times appear indicative of a deeper conflict between Christians and Muslims."
At the time, the U.S. Department of State under Hillary Clinton refused to add Boko Haram to a list of terror organizations, despite the number of attacks already attributable to the radical Islamist group....
The tracker has found that Boko Haram is responsible for ◼ more than 4,000 deaths in 2014.... Boko Haram opposes the education of girls and has kidnapped girls to use as cooks and sex slaves. It has killed hundreds of children.
The group seeks to replace Nigeria's government with a ultra-strict Islamic state.
◼ PALIN: OBAMA ADMIN'S 'LAZY' & 'NAIVE' HASHTAG ACTIVISM 'EMBARRASSING' - Tony Lee/Breitbart
...Palin blasted the Obama administration's "embarrassing" reliance on junior high-like tweets and tickles in place of a foreign policy rooted in peace through strength."
"Diplomacy via Twitter is the lazy, ineffectual, naïve, and insulting way for America’s leaders to deal with major national and international issues," she said. "If you’re going to get involved anyway, Mr. President, learn to understand this and believe it, then announce it: Victory is only brought to you 'courtesy of the red, white and blue.' It’s certainly not won by your mere 'unfriending' the bad guys on Facebook. Leading from behind is not the American way."
Palin noted that under Obama, "Hillary Clinton’s State Department repeatedly refused to recognize Boko Haram as terrorists despite their conventional, predictable Islamic terrorist rants, training, and mission."
She added that the kidnapped Nigerian girls are now in a "life and death" situation in the hands of terrorists and asked, "And what is the Obama administration’s weapon of choice in this battle for these young girls’ lives? Hashtagging tweets on social media!"
Palin then said, "like the patriot writes in this photo, winning takes Warriors":
If you intend to rescue these innocent girls whose only “crime” was seeking an education despite the threats of insane Islamic terrorists who drag women back to the Stone Age (see, Liberals, THAT is the real “war on women” so quit making it up that conservatives wage it), then you need to send a message to the world that our United States military is the strongest force to protect the good guys, and the most deadly against the bad guys. Pretty simple, the world needs to know America is still on the side of the good guys.
