Meriam Ibrahim is currently safe at the U.S. embassy in Sudan

◼ Ibrahim was originally sentenced to death for apostasy, the crime of leaving Islam, even though she had never practiced the faith. An appeals court overturned the sentence Monday, but less than 24 hours later, police arrested Ibrahim for supposedly forging travel documents.
