Biggest act of bipartisanship yet: Obama budget defeated 414-0

Republicans wrote an amendment that contained Mr. Obama's budget and offered it on the floor, daring Democrats to back the plan, which calls for major tax increases and yet still adds trillions of dollars to the deficit over the next decade....Last year, when Republicans forced a vote on his 2012 budget, it was defeated 97-0.

In a rare show of unanimous bipartisanship, House Democrats and Republicans united in their opposition to President Obama's 2013 budget, which failed tonight with 414 votes against and zero in favor of the budget.

Such opposites as Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Rep. Michelle Bachmann joined each other in voting against the bill, but the White House preemptively dismissed the tally.

Of course, the White House has brushed off the defeat as a "gimmick." Meanwhile, House Republicans are gearing up to pass Paul Ryan's latest Path to Prosperity.
