The White House and State Department declined comment on the email alerts. The House Oversight Committee told CBS News the information in the emails will be part of their ongoing investigation into the Benghazi attack.

Told you so. The emails and cables documenting what happened are voluminous. Just wait till the classified material sees the light of day. Obama is a goddamn liar. And he is a coward. When this attack was underway, Obama spent his time worrying about how to avoid taking political damage. He did not focus on how to save or assist the U.S. diplomats and personnel being attacked. He worried only about himself and how to deflect any potential poltical damange. Shameful.

When he spoke, you thought “energy in the executive.” When Obama spoke, the words that came to mind were “fatigue,” “apathy,” “frustration.” In his closing statement the president was clearly rattled, lamely reciting talking points we’ve heard too often before, not even pretending to care about what he was saying — simply wanting it to be over. It was as though a light had gone out. Was he disconcerted by the smoothness of Romney’s performance? Or is his campaign’s internal polling in Ohio less pretty than his people are letting on?

Romney is riding a wave of enthusiasm that parallels what Barack Obama experienced in 2008. The momentum is his, and it is hard to see what Obama can do at this point to stop it.
